Kude winced as her stomach rumbled unhappily. "Quiet you!" Muttering softly, the dark lioness limped onward, the longer she walked the more pronounced her limp was and the firmer her jaw set. The pain in her hip distracted her from the pain of her empty stomach. Not that she could do anything about either of the pains.
Hunting was hard for the dark lioness on her good days, when her hip just throbbed, on days like today when the pain was all consuming there was no hope for her to even try and hunt.
When the pain got to much, Kude found a spot of shade to collapse in, panting with exhaustion and pain. One large paw curled around the dirty, ratty pouch that hung around her neck. It was the only thing left of her former life.

His tail flicked around. He silently stalked through the grasses in front of him. But there was something behind the grasses that he was really stalking. Something that was really important to him a meal. The growing teen almost always seemed hungry. He wasn't really that sure why but he just was. He was skinny, tall, and his legs were really long. He was almost always found running and his ribs just lightly showed. But it was, well according to his mother because he processed food fast.
He wasn't that sure why he was like that but he wasn't going to complain.
But right now he was going to fight off hunger once more. His legs took off under him and he quickly darted toward the four legged creature in front of him. It ran fast but it really wasn't fast enough to lose Rahvu. The lion was slowly coming up behind it, then he took advantage of the perfect chance, springing forward and pouncing on the creature easily pulling it down and snapping it's neck. He had his meal, now he was going to drag it to a safe place.
But as he approached the safe place, the creature still hanging loosly from his jaw he noticed some one else in the spot. Owell he didn't mind sharing. "Care to join me for a meal?" He called out. He wasn't rude

Maroon eyes blinked as Kude lifted her head to stare in confusion at the young male before her. She knew he had said something to her, but the words didn't penetrate the pain filled haze that controlled her brain.
"What?" Oh how stupid that sounded, and she hated to sound stupid, but nothing else seemed to come to her at the moment. Shaking her head, Kude winced getting to her feet.
"This your spot kid?"

Rahvu was wondering if the lioness was deaf. She didn't answer him. Was she even alive? He wasn't that sure she was just of of there. He was just about to start debating on if he was going to stay or not. But then she stood up. He blinked before shaking his head. "Oh no. i was just asking you if you wanted to join me. If this is your spot I can leave, I mean I've sat here before but It might be your spot." He laughed at himself as he dropped the creature from his jaw, it was a younger antelope. More than he could eat himself, he didn't mind sharing at all.
he nodded toward the lioness as he sat down. "If this is your spot I hope you don't mind me interrupting you. But this is the only really safe place around to eat..." His voice trailed.

Kude chuckled softly, though there was no humor in the sound. " No this isn't my spot, it was just the closest shade I could find." She cocked her head as he eyes locked on the food, unconsciously licking her lips as her stomach rumbled, but her pride wouldn't let her beg.
"I am not from around here, so I wouldn't know if this was a safe spot or not." Hunger and pain made her voice rather sharp, but her maroon eyes were hazy. She was thin for a lioness her size, and had clearly gone through some rough times.

As Rahvu looked at her he started to pick up on the fact that she wasn't in good shape. He looked at the creature in his maw before looking at her. He lifted it up before moving it toward her. "Here. You probably need this more than I do." He smiled before moving away a bit and flopping down on his haunches. He lifted a paw and licked it clean of blood before rubbing his maw with the same paw trying to get that clean too.
"This is a safe spot." He chuckled before nodding a bit and smiling slightly. "I've been here many times. A lot as a cub too. I'm more than sure that you have nothing to worry about in here."

Kude blinked from him to the kill then back to him. He..he was giving her food? Was something wrong with it? Sure, if they were a pride she would understand him helping her but they were strangers. She sniffed at the kill then looked at him, " Why are you helping me?"
She was suspicious, and rightly so. Strangers didn't go out of their way to help others. How many times had she been attacked and driven away from other's lands for nothing more than trying to drink at their watering hole?
So why would this strange young male give her his kill?

Rahvu sat back on his haunches more before shrugging at her, then he smiled. "Well... Why not?" He was curious on why she just didn't start eating it. Everyone else she knew would just dig into it quickly with out complaint. Why didn't she just eat what he was offering her? He lifted a leg and scratched behind his ear then nodded at her.
"My mom told me if there is some one that needs help then I should help them." His smile grew just a little more then chuckled slightly. "Just have it I'm not that hungry beside it was a easy catch." He shifted a bit.

Kude frowned but the lure of fresh food was too much for the starving lioness and she lunged for the kill, not caring about her manners as she tore into the food. Normally she would be appalled by her own actions, but hunger was a harsh mistress that drove all manners from her mind. It was a measure of how hungry she had been that she even cracked and eat the bones, wasting nothing.
Whens he was finally finished she closed her eyes with a soft sigh, for the first time in a long time, her stomach, while not full, wasn't empty either. The agonizing hunger cramps had fallen silent leaving only the echoing pain in her leg.
Opening her eyes, she gave the young male a gentle smile, " Thank you." Her voice was softer, no where as harsh or suspicious as before.

Rahvu sat back and watched the lioness. He was a little surprised at how fast he jumped, at how fast he was eating. He had no clue why she was so hungry, how could one go without hunting there had to be something wrong with her he just wasn't that sure what then again he knew it was none of his business, he wasn't going to pry.
"Your welcome. It'd really no problem. It was just a practice hunt." He chuckled slightly and grinned a little more and flicked her tail around a few times then looked toward her. "Do you need anything else?" He asked politely with a smiele on his face.

A bark of bitter laughter escaped her before she could stop it. Shaking her head gently, Kude washed her face and legs clean of the remains of her meal, "Not unless you can change the past my young friend. Not unless you can cure my lame leg. " She knew she should be thankful to the young male, but his words brought up too much pain for her to stop the words, " Unless you can make it so I was never born there is nothing you can do."
Looking down at her feet she clentched her jaw shut before she lashed out at him more. It wasn't his fault, but as her guardian had once said the path to being damned always started with good intentions and kindly deeds.
"There is nothing you can do for me kid."

Rahvu looked at her before his face twisted into a slightly offended face. He thought that she would enjoy his offer and not have a problem with it. But apparently he was wrong. He shuffled his feet shrugging it off trying to make it look like he didn't mind that she said those things. He stood up and shook off his mane. "I cannot do those for you Ma'am." He sighed slightly before noddding toward her. "If I can't do anything for you then I should head out." He gave her a nice smile before nodding once more. "It was nice meeting you ma'am."

Kude sighed faintly, she hadn't meant to piss the boy off but it was hard to undo a life time of cruelty with one meal. To say Kude had issues would be an understatement, the poor thing had subscriptions. She flicked her ears back as she nodded, slowly getting to her feet.
"Naw you can stay kid, I should be moving on...I have a long ways till I get home." It was the kindest thing she could do, to move on and let him have the comfortable spot in the shade. It was a sacrifice on her end as bad a shape she was in, but she knew she had been rude to the young male.
"Good luck in life kid, hope it treats you better than it has me." Kude chuckled bitterly as she limped from the shade into the blistering sun, her old ratty bag hanging around her neck as she began on her long trek again, bolstered by the bit of food in her belly.
