My PC speakers are starting to give up the ghost after about 4 years of sonic punishment. Just as well, I've been wanting to get a nicer 2.1 setup with a sub, considering how often I'm listening to music on this thing. Anyone got any suggested brands/models?

Settled on a set of Altec-Lansing V2621s with a sub for about 40 bucks. Yeah, I know no one cares! scream Just padding my post count.

Damn I love Amazon. Ordered it two days ago, and it arrived here today.

I'm pleased. The satellites are crisp and clear, and at volume the sub puts out enough low-end to knock birds out of trees.

Oh, damn. I do believe he has the advantage there by a considerable margin. Afraid I have neither the space nor the finances for that kind of setup. OTOH, I don't play an instrument so I don't really need it.

He paid $1000 for it but its worth a lot more. Plus the amp which was $300.

And yeah, I don't think you do need one if you don't play an instrument but if you turn the bass up a lot and turn on something like Beat Dominator, turn on the fog machine and a few $200 DJ lights, its an amazing feeling.
