Well, I'm a Horror Queen, so naturally Halloween is my Christmas. Family get togethers, dressing up, giving gifts, decorating the house, I LOVE IT! But it can all get very costly. Most of my Halloween decorating and costuming is DIY (even down to the foods I serve, no store bought orange and brown cupcake brains for this zombie).

So far, I know I'll be recreating my home made blood that I made a few years ago. I was just playing around with things in the kitchen to give it the right consistency and color, so I never wrote the recipe down for it. It was completely edible and tasted like chocolate. As it dried it turned a little bit darker and got kind of crusty like real dried blood, so it was really fun. I'll also be making some kind of cute dress from cheap fabric then tearing it strategically and pouring blood (and maybe some dirt) on it because, as aways, I will be a zombie. I've been working on my zombie make up every chance I get, trying out different styles for the big day. I've learned some great methods for making fake body parts (yay realistic intestines!) that I can gnaw on while I wait for fresh meat to arrive at my doorstep =P

What fun crafts, costumes, and candies do you guys have planned?

And just for fun:

That bee costume from Target is too funny!

I LOVE Halloween! Every year I have big hopes and plans and sadly, they hardly ever go right crying This year is our first year in our house, so my husband is super excited to decorate the house and pass out candy. I really really hope we have lots of kids since the past few years we've gotten no kids.

I did buy a bunch of sewing patterns for costumes, but since we have no big plans, I'll save sewing a costume for next year. But when passing out candy, I'm going to wear a black dress and paint my face like a dai del los muertos skeleton.

We are also planning on going to Scarowinds, our local amusement park that getting all decorated for Halloween and has haunted houses. And of course we're going to go to the pumpkin patch and carve them.

I like your ideas, very cute. Sadly, my halloween plans often don't turn out as grand as they were in my mind either. This year my aunt is having a halloween party, so that puts a damper on a lot of my plans.
