Stormcloud wandered around his clan, off duty and bored. He couldn't spend time with his mate, she was doing her duties and he couldn't play with his kids because well....they apparently didn't want to play with him at the moment. The other clan members were doing their own thing, hanging with family or chatting with friends, Stormcloud didn't want to ruin their special time so he didn't go up to them and talk.

This didn't bother him though, he was fine that no one needed him at the moment, that was the way that he liked it. He would rather have everyone relaxed than preparing for war.

Stormcloud spotted a little dark newborn, piling up what seemed to be branches. He smiled, his cubs were almost grown and he was sad to see them grow up so fast. It wasn't very long ago that they were little newborns. Ah, those were the days.

Curious he wandered up to the newborn, it wasn't everyday that a mother let their newborn out.

Kukiko looked up and saw a older Saigh approach her. She didn't want any Saigh to see her little home for her and her brother until it was completed. So, she attempted to hide the large pile of sticks and stones behind her.

Kukiko loved her brother dearly and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him if possible. She knew that this was probably not going to happen but she still had hope. And if he did suddenly disappear from her life, she knew that he knew that he could always run to her if he wanted to. It made her happy to know that.

Kukiko thought that she was so cunning and smart as she hid the heap of discarded nature. He wouldn't think twice that what she was guarding was going to be a place for she and her brother.

Stormcloud chuckled inside, not wanting to upset the newborn. This newborn was interesting, not like his other kids. His other kids wouldn't try to hide what they were doing, they did quite the opposite. Usually they were very open about what they were doing and why. This cub seemed like this was not the case though.

Stormcloud stopped in front of the young one and flashed a huge grin, the grin that had his mate falling for him every single time to Kukiko. It was a friendly grin, nothing scary about it unlike some Saighs.

"What are you up to little newborn?" Stormcloud said in a calm and relaxing voice to the newborn, to not frighten her. He didn't want to have a frightened newborn on his hands, that spelled trouble sometimes, not like he minded.

Kukiko had her eyes trained on that one male Saigh, her eyes never straying from him. It was her way of seeing of this saigh was really good or evil. Plus she really didn't want this dark saigh to ruin her home for she and her brother and if her eyes strayed from this male, she was afraid that her beginnings of a home would be no more.

The saigh didn't look dangerous at all to her, he actually looked quite familiar. This puzzled the young newborn. Why did he look so familiar but she didn't know his name or where he came from? She always remembered names and faces so it was unusual for one to look familiar and for her to not recognize it.

She quickly pushed away this fact and continued to eye the male saigh warily. She would beat him up if need be to protect the home adult or no adult, high rank or no high rank.

"Why would you like to know?" Kukiko replied to the males comment in a high pitched but soft voice. His voice sounded like it was a nice voice, somewhat like her mothers but then again you could never be that sure. So, Kukiko kept her guard up, just in case this was a big bad mean adult saigh that her mother told to stay away from.

Stormcloud chuckled as he neared and saw her face. It looked as if she was glaring at him. No one ever dared glare at him in the clan but this one, this one did. He had a feeling that he would like this little newborn.

Stormcloud liked the little feisty newborns. It made his day fun to have a little scuffle or two with them, it reminded him of some of his cubs in a way. So today he was more than glad to see Kukiko and was actually overjoyed at the prospect of talking to her.

Stormcloud didn't mind that Kukiko had her eyes trained on his every move. He had a whole lot of that from adults and other saigh from the clan so he was quite used to being stared at all the time and it got to the point where he didn't even notice it anymore.

The older saigh tried to remember all the names and faces of the saigh in his clan. There were just so many that he really couldn't. It got to the point where he knew some of the saighs really well but the others he didn't remember. That usually didn't bother the other saighs though or himself, after all being a clan leader sure is tough work.

Stormclouds grin grew even wider at the young newborns response. No one in their right mind would talk to him like that but obviously this youngin didn't know who he was and therefore was taking the necessary precautions when meeting a stranger. It made him happy to know this, it was always good to have saigh in his clan that were very aware and new how to be wary of others.

"Well because I'm the leader of this clan. I have to know what everyone is up to. Wouldn't want someone struggling with what they were doing." Stormcloud replied with an even bigger grin on his face and a slight twinkle in his eye.

Kukiko looked at the male saigh as if he were some alien creature. No one laughed at her when she gave that face, no one. Well, unless if they were her mother that is. But then again, she had the right to, this male did not though. It wasn't as if he was higher rank than her after all.

Kukiko didn't like it when other saighs laughed at her, it embarrassed her and made her feel stupid. The only two saighs that could actually get by with such a thing were her mother and her own brother. Even then she usually started a fight with her brother when he did such a thing because she felt so embarrassed.

She didn't mind being stared at though. She was quite used to it with her mother and brother watching her and whatnot. She just didn't like it when people looked at her when she did something stupid or secretive.

"O-oh, uhhh, okay then." Kukiko stuttered as she attempted to get all of her thoughts together. She didn't suspect that it would be one of the clan leader who would walk up to her, the clan leaders had to much to do on their hands.

She was at a loss of words and flustered at the sight of one of the clan leaders, so much so that she accidentally took a step back and cracked some twigs that were behind her. She cringed, hoping he wouldn't ask what she was up to with those twigs.

Stormcloud laughed even more at the strange look that she was giving him. It was indeed a look that he had never seen before, had some character to it. He loved kids with character, it made his life funner.

Stormcloud didn't care if others laughed or chuckled at him though. He thought it was good for them to, it got them off of all their worries and made their day a little bit better. And if Stormcloud could make anyone's day better he was a happy camper.

It took so much will power for Stormcloud to not laugh at the little cub a she stumbled through the conversation. He watched her carefully as her stunned look turned into a look of fear as she stepped on the branch. Figuring that he should mention the heap of natural waste behind her, he spoke up.

"What are you doing with those twigs and whatnot behind you?" He asked in a somewhat curious voice as he tried to relax his body as much as possible for the little one to see that he was completely harmless.

Kukiko so wanted to glare at the older saigh for laughing at her. She realized though that she really couldn't. You weren't supposed to glare at the clan leaders for they were superior to everyone, at least that's what she heard. Plus, she wasn't all to sure what the clan leader would do to her if she actually did glare at him. Sure he was being nice right now but if she made one faulty move she was afraid that she would be kicked out of the clan. And that was one thing that she really did not want.

Kukiko looked up at Stormcloud again at a loss of words. She was caught off guard, with him knowing where her materials for her and her brothers house lay. She had hid it so well that she thought that he wouldn't even notice it and would be on his jolly little way.

Kukiko after an extremely long pause decided to tell him the truth. She didn't want the male to take away her and her brothers home when it was just in the works just because she didn't tell the truth. She had worked to hard on the idea.

"I-I'm creating this house for me and my brother," she replied, stuttering. His voice and stance somewhat soothed the cub and she calmed down just a bit. She was still extremely nervous though so she did have that stutter. She waited for him to say no, knowing that this might be forbidden in the clan.

Stormcloud grinned at the newborn. She made such unique expressions, expressions that he had never seen before. He wanted to laugh, oh he wanted to laugh so hard. The problem with that though was that the newborn looked angry at him. He really didn't want to make her any angrier so he tried to stay in his happy go lucky state and not laugh. This was hard for Stormcloud because this newborn was just so interesting.

Stormcloud gave her a big smile to know that it was alright. It must be really hard for her to speak up to a person of higher power such as himself. He didn't think that he had higher power but a lot of saighs believed that he did. He just shrugged this off, hopefully they would soon realize that they were actually more important than him instead of the other way around.

Stormcloud looked over at the sky and noticed that the sun was about to set. He sighed knowing that he would have to depart and go to his family. He loved his family dearly but he wanted to learn more about this newborn, she was just so interesting. His family was more important though and he did miss his family right now. Hopefully he would be able to see this newborn sometime in the near future. He would like that.

"I'm afraid little newborn that I have to go. You should probably go back to your home to so your mother doesn't worry. I'm sure that your materials for your home will be here tomorrow." Stormcloud said, apologetically. He really didn't want to leave, and leave this newborn all alone. She needed supervision so she didn't hurt herself. He figured that her mother that her mother was near bye, seeing as mothers always kept near their young during the newborn state.

With that he started to trot off towards his cave, eager to see what his family was up to.

Kukiko wanted to believe that this male meant no harm, that he was just really nice. Her instinct wouldn't let her though. It questioned if he was actually a clan leader or not. He was just way to nice to be one. Kukiko envisioned someone extremely strict as a clan leader, not relaxed and happy like this male was. These two ways of thinking clashed which created so many unique expressions on Kukiko's face. It's not like she wanted them there, no she wanted to be like her mother where you couldn't read her expressions because they were just so mysterious.

Kukiko grinned, happy that the male wanted to leave. He was making her act weird and she didn't like it one bit. It would be different if he didn't do this to her but that was not the case. She figured that she should go back to her family but she wanted to finish the house first. She was sure that her mother would come and get her when it was time to go to bed.

"Uh huh! Bye mister!" Kukiko replied going back to her gathering of twigs and rocks. It was time to build, something that she really wanted to do. So, she started to build, one twig at a time.
