Jedidah: Jedidah crawled out of the water after a while and then stumbled through the forest, barely able to stand on her own feet. She should have known better! Should have known that she couldn't kill Angelus. She hurt so much from his punishment, so much that she didn't even care about the tears streaming down her face. She was weak and getting worse as she went on because she kept getting more and more cold.
She needed to stop, needed to heal. But the only way to do so as quick as she needed was with the one thing she didn't have. She would never be like Angelus, taking from others, she would never stoop so low. But the only one to ever aid her when she desperately needed blood was Amorpho. And he was neither around nor large enough. She feared in her current state she would accidentally kill her little friend.
She stumbled once again and fell, blinking tears from her eyes. But she stood and pressed on, not knowing for where she was bound, only that she needed to get far away from where she had been. But it was only for a few more moments, for when she collapsed again, she couldn't find the strength to rise from the ground. The realization of her fate hit her hard as her eyes started to flutter.
She was dying.
Connor: Connor flew down from the trees, tears streaming from his glowing eyes. "Damn it, 'Di, don't you ******** die on me," he growled as he rolled her over to check and make sure she was still alive. His heart squeezed as he saw the mess his father had made of her. Teeth grit, he slipped beneath her to lift her up. He'd been tracking her ever since he'd heard her screams. He'd been away, licking his wounds when he had gotten a bad feeling, starting from his tail and working upward. And when he head her scream, he knew what that bad feeling was. His mother-figure was too proud and strong usually to cry out in pain, so whatever his father was doing to her, he was pushing her to the limit. But by the time he got back to the dens, all he found were some bloody paw-prints leaving the river that would be washed away by the approaching storm. He always seemed to get a twinge in his wings whenever rain was coming. The more prominent a twinge, the worse it would be. And this was looking to be a doozie, the fat clouds rolling in as he took off in the direction her trail led.
He lifted her up just as the first few raindrops started to fall. And that's when he felt it. Warmth, potential. And more than one. He would kill his father. No wonder 'Di had been so timid around that b*****d lately. If his feeling was right, he wasn't about to let his half-siblings suffer like he and his sisters had, hell no. He had to save 'Di, both from the brink and from Angelus. He just needed to find that new guy with the black suit. He would know what to do... Hopefully.
Logan: Logan hadn't strayed far - but it had been far enough not to hear the screams. He'd been swimming in the river, washing himself after a meal, and the water seemed to have acted as an adequate barrier to block the screams from his ears. Clambering out of the water, shaking himself dry, the male began to groom himself in a careless manner - he didn't really care how he looked.
Giving an iritated sigh he settled himself down in a lush area of grass - it made quite a comfortable cushion, and in the shade of a tree it protected him from the rain that suddenly began to pour down. Ugh, what horrible whether. Alone, he found this thoughts flitting to who else by Jedidah. He really hoped she was alright. Earlier, whislt swimming, he'd gotten a bad feeling. Like a stone in his stomach, making it hard to concentrate. But he'd just dismissed it, figuring it to be his worry.
Little did he know it was all about to become obvious.
Connor: Connor moved as quickly as he could, growling loudly. He wasn't sure what to do, how to find him. He wasn't stupid, wouldn't call out for the older male, especially since he didn't know the guy's name. The rain was making things even worse, but his eyes were pretty good nonetheless. And when he finally saw the face he was looking for he let himself breath again. "Hey! You! Help me!' he called out to the male he'd seen 'Di with. If there was any god out there, he prayed that it would show mercy on the only mother he'd ever really had.
Logan: Logan had rested his head on his paws, and was just drifting off to sleep when he suddenly heard the voice. It was slightly familiar - he'd heard it before, but not regularly. Frowning, he looked around, and finally spotted Connor, frowning. It was 'Di's kid...and he was carrying something on his back. Confused frown slowly faded, all the colour draining from his face as he realized exactly what Connor was carrying. "s**t."
Jedidah.
Rushing forwards, ignoring the pouring rain that had him drenched in seconds, Logan met Connor half way, helping him to lift 'Di off of his back. What had that monster done to her!? Was she even alive!? He quickly sought out a pulse, relieved to find there was one - albeit weak - turning to Connor with a look not many had seen before. Vulnerability. Concern.
"What does she need?" he muttered hoarsely. Oh, he should've gone in earlier! Then this wouldn't have happened...she wouldn't be slipping from the world of the living into that of the dead.
Jedidah & Connor: Connor shook his head. "I don't know. I've never-" "Won't... take." 'Di had drifted into a semi-conscious state when Connor had yelled. She looked up, eyes barely open as she shivered between the two males. She was surprised at the strength in Connor. His eyes still looked dull from the beating he had gotten, his lip finally starting to heal where it had been split. He frowned down at her, confused for a moment before he realized. "If it'll help, you should," he snapped, eyes narrowed in anger over the situation. She only shook her head weakly.
Logan: Even the winger otter, who'd been so sarcastic last time they'd met, seemed worried, but still with the same stubborn attitude. Logan had never felt weaker than he did right then - never felt more vulnerable. He wasn't able to do anything and she was right there in front of him, slowly slipping away! He had to do something! She roused, and he was at her side, gently hushing her and stroking her hair with a gentle caress.
The two seemed to understand each other, Connor scolding Jedidah for refusing to do something that helped? Features darkening, Logan looked fiercely up to the younger male. "What does she need?"
Jedidah & Connor: Connor sneered. No matter how much he cared for her, he hated what Jedidah was, mostly because she was of similar species as his b*****d father. He respected her choice to NOT do what her body wanted to, but that it was what she was... He was fortunate that he didn't suffer from the same vice. "Your feeding, it'll help you." It wasn't a question. "You're... weak... Not healed," 'Di responded with another small shake of her head. She could see it. He was still too weak from the fight before. Logan, maybe, but she didn't want to take from him. She let out a soft sob. "I can't..." A voice in the back of her mind whined, pleaded. 'You can...'
Logan: Logan watched the exchange of words, chestnut eyes widening as he finally caught on, gently pushing past Connor to reach 'Di's face, sitting himself down beside her, moving one paw so it was right by her lips. He didn't care, he'd pay whatever price - she didn't deserve to die. He would go slay that disgusting beast right now, if he didn't have Jedidah to attend to. Purring softly, trying to reassure her as best he could he used his other paw to stroke her hair gently, speaking to her in hushed tones.
"I can help, 'Di. You can, c'mon. I have minor healing abilities, I'll be fine. C'mon, I promised you I'd keep you safe. Don't die on me, 'Di. Don't even think about it."
I care about you were the unspoken words that fluttered through his mind, but he ignored them, instead concentrating on the situation at hand.
Jedidah: 'Di's eyes flicked to Logan's as he spoke. She could feel it, he was right. He would weather this. Only she knew how things would change between them. With a tired sigh, she slowly closed her eyes and placed a paw on his, sinking her teeth into his flesh just above his paw. She felt the healing ability in him, felt it like a sweet warmth. As she took the blood into herself, her body warmed a fraction. The pain returned, but it was a good sign. At least she knew her nerves were working again.
Connor: Connor frowned and turned away, unable to look. He didn't want to see that. Knowing that she would be okay, he took a few steps away from the pair, giving them their space. He'd seen his father go after her before. She got demanding sometimes. He figured to distance himself for a bit.
Logan: Logan stared at her long and hard, almost daring her not to. His expression was full of relief as she sighed, before biting down on his paw, creating a slightly uncomfortable feeling. He winced a little, feeling strange, but he made no audible complaint, instead sitting patiently, waiting for her to take her fill. "There," he breathed, releasing a breath he wasn't aware he'd been holding, "Doesn't that feel better?"
Jedidah: 'Di let her head lie back again when she felt she'd taken enough to survive. Her wounds started to clot, though the rain made the blood still run from them a bit. The inner voice wanted her to go back, to finish what she started, to have more. His blood was bitter, too, but she'd since realized that it was simply a type thing. There was a difference to it than anything she'd ever had before, probably because he was different. She reached up and ran her paw over his cheek, her claws dark, but not so much. Most of it had gone towards healing herself rather than going to her abilities. "Thank you," she whispered, blinking her eyes a bit from the rain.
Logan: Logan watched carefully as she removed her lips from his pain, waiting a few moment to be sure before he lifted his paw to his own lips, quickly lapping away the excess blood as his paw healed itself, the skin melting back together to leave no marks. "You sure you had enough, 'Di? There's plenty more," he mumbled softly, reaching forwards to press his cheek against hers, closing his eyes tightly, determined not to let any tears fall. That certainly wouldn't help. He'd just been so scared...felt so vulnerable. He wasn't sure what he would've done if she hadn't...hadn't made it.
"It's my pleasure," he whispered back, licking her cheek affectionately, moving his body so he was closer to hers and could share his warmth with her.
Jedidah & Connor: 'Di closed her eyes and nuzzled her cheek against his, weakly, but a nuzzle nonetheless. "I'll live," she replied and curled against her savior. Connor finally returned to them, clearing his throat. 'Di didn't open her eyes or glance his way, too tired to do so. "I don't know what-" she whispered but was interrupted by Connor's growl. "I do. You're not going back to him. So help me, I'm not letting this happen again."
Logan: Logan smiled, grateful she had the strength to nuzzle him back, even if it was a weak one. She spoke, and his smile only grew wider, Logan resting a paw rather protectively on her back, pulling her closer to him. He glanced up as the angelic otter returning, even managing to flash Connor a weak smile, before his expression became more serious as the conversation took a more serious tone.
"I agree," Logan spoke, glancing down at the beaten, bruised, broken body of Jedidah, "You're not going back. I don't...I don't know what exactly we'll do yet, but we can't let this happen again, 'Di. You're going to stay here, with me. I'll protect you."
Jedidah & Connor: 'Di looked from one male to another, both determined to protect her and yet she didn't want them getting hurt because of her. "He'll come after me... Or hurt my family. I can't-" Connor smirked then as an idea suddenly formed in his mind. If his father didn't have anyone to chase... "He won't if I kill you first," he finally said.

Logan nuzzled 'Di's chest, having adopted quite a protective stance around the female. She seemed worried, but he only hushed her gently, stroking her back to try and calm her. He wasn't entirely sure where he'd gotten the idea form, but it just seemed to...feel right. Connor's idea seemed to confuse him, though, the male growled softly as he looked up, forehead furrowed in confusion.
"I hope you're not being literal," he spoke, unable to stop the slight grumble in his voice. There was no way he'd let 'Di die.

Logan: Logan nuzzled 'Di's chest, having adopted quite a protective stance around the female.
Jedidah & Connor: 'Di frowned in confusion at the young male's words. What was he thinking? Connor rolled his eyes at the looks on 'Di and her male's faces. Geez, was he really that much of an a** that they'd think he was being literal? "No, I'm not. I meant, if I went back and told Angelus you were dead, he wouldn't come looking for you anymore. He might for the body, but I can tell him I dumped it in the river or something. How does that sound?" 'Di could see the hurt look in his eyes, even though it was barely there. She smiled a bit, trying to assure him that she hadn't thought he was being literal, only that his statement had confused her. She then looked to Logan to see what he thought.
Logan: Logan watched Connor carefully, the male having noticeably tensed a little, as if ready to leap at the slightest hint of agitation. When the angelic male finally spoke, however, Logan's form relaxed, his eyes widening a little. That...that made sense. Such clear sense. How had they not thought of this before? The only way to free her was death - but death was easily faked.
"That...that's brilliant," he whispered in hushed tones, turning back to look at 'Di and gauge her reaction. She smiled, although he felt that had other meanings than happiness. He nuzzled her, gazing down at her seriously, "What do you think, hmm?"
Jedidah: 'Di sighed and shook her head. Her eyes closed and she bowed her head a bit, biting her lip before she spoke. "In all honesty, I don't like it. My family will be in danger again..." she whispered. That was the whole point after all, protecting her family. And then there was Connor and Artemis and Darling. Well... Darling was a lost soul and Artemis seemed to be doing quite fine, but... They were all still her responsibility. "And you and your sisters... I can't just-"
Connor: "To hell with me and the girls!" Connor's wings unfurled as he jumped to his feet with his angry outburst. He growled and turned away, pacing out of the sparse shelter from the trees into the rain and back again. He repeated this two more times before slamming his foot down. "'Didah, it was okay to put us before you when we were little, but damnit all, we can take care of ourselves," he paused there, giving her a look bordering on pleading. "You're the closest thing we had to a mom after what that b*****d did. You want us to have to deal with losing you, too?"
Logan: Logan watched 'Di, sighing inwardly. She was so selfless - unlike he was. She only thought of others, putting them all before herself, whatever the cost. It was...it was something he'd never understood before, but suddenly he found himself seeing it all too clearly. But at the same time, wishing 'Di would be just a little more selfish.
Connor's outburst was surprising, but Logan merely adopted a rather expressionless look, watching the winged otter before turning back to Jedidah, nuzzling her cheek softly, "He's right, 'Di. They're adults now - you've given them the best chance you could, and now it's time for them to look after themselves. It's about time you did the same."
Jedidah: 'Di looked down and yet she smiled a bit. It felt.... nice, to have these two determined to see her safely away from Angelus. It was something she was certain her father and brother would have done, too. She sat up as best she could and carefully removed her cross from her neck. "He'll want proof... I don't... Please be careful with it, Connor. My father made it for me," she said as she handed it to the young male. She curled closer to Logan, cold, wet, and tired. She needed to rest and regain her strength, though part of her cried out for something else. But she didn't think she needed that right then.
Connor: Connor slowly took the necklace, glad that she was seeing reason for once. "I... suggest not telling them just yet. I don't know how, but... the fewer who know you're alive, the better, you know?" He studied the necklace as he spoke, admiring the craftsmanship and care that must have gone into it. He wished he had had a father like 'Di's. But he didn't and there wasn't going to be any changing of that. "I'll bring it back after a little while," he said and turned to leave. He paused though, looking over his shoulder to give Logan an almost threatening look. "Remember what I told you. You better keep her safe."
Logan: Logan watched with confusion at first, as she sat up to remove her necklace, but his face clouded with realization as she spoke. Proof...proof that she was dead. That sick excuse of an otter disgusted him, and Logan instinctively curled his maw into a snarl. He was glad to be getting Jedidah away from him. She deserved better.
She curled closer to him and he hugged her, sensing her need for reassurance and warmth. He himself had dried off from him swim, and so pressed his dry, warm fur to hers, hoping to make her feel better. He looked up to Connor, meeting the young male's gaze as he turned to leave, before pausing to turn back and look over his shoulder.
The look was almost threatening, but Logan dismissed it. This was a stressful time, and he had to keep reminding himself that whilst he was an adult, Connor was still only young. He nodded, even offering half a smile, "I give you my word - they'll have to go through me first, bub."
Connor: Connor kept his gaze on the older male for a little bit longer before nodding once and walking off into the rain. He hoped that Jedidah would be safe with this male. As he walked away, the wickedness in him couldn't help but smile as he wondered just how well his father would take the news.
Jedidah: Jedidah watched as Connor walked away, uncertain of what his parting words had meant. "Be careful!" she called to him before he slipped from sight. With Connor gone, it was just her and Logan now. "Thank you..." she whispered, suddenly shy and unable to look at him for reasons she couldn't explain. No, her rational side would have had a good feeling it was what he had allowed to save her coupled with her exhaustion. But that part was currently passed out in the back of her mind.
Logan: Logan also watched Connor leave, keeping his gaze raised until the last tip of the white wings was seen, his chestnut eyes flickering down to Jedidah, a frown crossing his face as she looked away. Had he done something wrong? A small smile on his face he touched his nose to her cheek, in an attempt to get her attention. "'Di? What's wrong, hmm?"
Jedidah: "I'm... I think I'm just tired." 'Di looked down at where she had taken from him, seeing no evidence of it. Part of her wanted more, to return herself to tip-top condition. But she had enough control to quiet that voice. She didn't want to drink anymore, even if he wouldn't mind helping her recover. "Have... you always been able to do that?" she asked, her voice sounding tired.
Logan: He watched her carefully, forehead slowly beginning to crease in confusion. She spoke, and his look turned to one of worry - she was tired? Was that a good sign, or not? He nudged her with his paw, as if to say she was welcome to drink more. He was happy to take the minor discomfort, if it meant she got better. After all, look at the sacrafice she'd made.
Do what? ...Oh, right. He shrugged a little, before realizing that could be taken the wrong way, smiling to cover his mistake as he finally allowed himself to relax, laying his head down beside hers. "Since I can remember. Same with the claws. ...If you're tired, 'Di, rest. You're welcome to drink more, too - just be a little selfish for once."
Jedidah: 'Di shook her head slowly. "I don't want to. I don't... like to," she replied and closed her eyes. "I'm just going to sleep. 'M not cold anymore," she added and was out like a light, curled close to him, her breathing deep and even. She'd be hungry when she woke next, but for now all she needed was sleep.
Logan: Logan watched her with serious eyes, staring at her as she laid down. He wanted her to understand he really didn't want her to mind drinking. If she wanted to drink from anyone it should be him, since he was most likely to heal, and would be the quickest to do so too. Glancing at her again, he couldn't help the smile creeping up his maw as he watched the steady rise and fall of her chest, the tell-tale sign of her sleeping state.
She'd been through a lot, and deserved the rest. Surveying the area, he shifting his position a little, curling around her in a protective manner, resting his head lightly on his paws. He was usually a light sleeper, but tonight he didn't want to take any chances. Nuzzling her cheek with his own, he settled himself in for a long night.
Jedidah: 'Di was up again not too long after she had fallen asleep. Her eyes had a small glow to them as they opened and she whined a bit in discomfort. She was hot, tired, and hungry, completely at war within herself. She wanted to jump into the river and also have another taste of the male curled around her. But mostly she wanted to go back to sleep. The emptiness within her won out, though, and she pressed her face into his fur, nuzzling him.
Logan: Logan was used to such watches - he'd had numerous nights where he'd been travelling, or where he had to remain awake since the area was densely populated with predators. When he heard a whine, though, the male frowned, tail flicking to one side a little as he attempted to turn towards 'Di, mouth opening a little to ask if she was alright before suddenly her face was in his neck, nuzzling him.
Surprised, he blinked, nuzzling the top of her head back reassuringly. "Jedidah?" he asked in a hushed voice, concern radiating from his eyes, "Are you alright?"
Jedidah: 'Di nuzzled there for a bit before moving to nuzzle his cheek. "Mmm, not really," she replied honestly. Uninhibited, she wasn't a creature that really understood the point of lying. What was the point of deception but to deny oneself and hurt others? "Tell me no, and I'll go back to sleep." Her words were whispered then, her sharp teeth lightly scraping through his fur. She opened her eyes to look at him uncertainly. She saw his concern and a wave of shame washed over her. Was she be taking advantage of him by asking for more? But... it wasn't like when she had asked Angelus. She didn't feel disgusted. She felt... like it made her closer to Logan. He had shared something very valuable to his being. If only she could reciprocate.
Logan: What...what was she doing? This was the msot affectionate he had ever seen her, and Logan frowned as he nuzzled her back again lightly, not wanting to upset her. ...Not really? What was that suppsoed to mean? She wasn't herself, and he frowned again, suddenly quite worried. Lifting his paw, he moved it so it was directly before her mouth, even nudging her lips with it.
"'Di, drink. It'll make you feel better, stronger, and help clear your mind." To be honest, he was just guessing - he had no idea how vampires and their bloodlust worked. But it seemed to be what happened, and he wanted her to get better. He growled softly, pressing his forehead fiercly against her cheek, nuzzling her quite roughly, "Never - 'Di, whatever you need, I'll give it to you, or get it. If you need it, just take it."
Jedidah: She shook her head once and nudged his paw away with a soft smile. Hearing those words made her happier than she had been in a long time. She had always worried that she was wrong, that though some might like her most of the time, no one would really accept the whole her. Her father disliked her need, Angelus hated her goodness, Connor hated her past. And yet Logan, a male who barely knew her, accepted her, good and bad. He wanted to protect her, keep her safe and well. There wasn't any words to express how that made her feel. "What goodness did I do to deserve you?" she asked softly as her eyes misted. 'Di kissed him then, careful of their tusks, a tear or two falling from her closed eyes. She bit his lip ever so slightly, just enough for a little taste to refresh her memory.
Logan: She nudged his paw away, and he sighed softly, assuming she must just want the reassurance that came with nuzzles and hugs. He pressed his nose to hers softly, although paused at her question. Deserve him? She'd sacraficed everything - her life, her health, her freeom, to save her family. She deserved everything good on this planet, but he found his heart swelling a little. She considered him that closely?
The kiss broke through his hazy thoughts, surprise shouting at from his mind. His eyes widened a little, spotting the tears, a little jump of surprise coming as the skin of his lips broke to allow her to drink. One half of him wanted to ask her what was wrong, why the tears, whislt the other half wanted to allow her to continue drinking, both for his own sanity and her. Whining softly instead, not breaking the connection but hopefully letting her know he was worried, Logan wrapped his paws around her shoulders in a sub-conscious action, meaning to hug her but in the process pulling her a little closer.
He couldn't help but appreciate how good it felt.
Jedidah: 'Di slowly broke away, smiling softly though still tears fell. She wasn't sad, no far from it. She was overwhelmed. She was free and cared for and accepted and to have that all in one night? It was something of a shock to the system to say the least. "I... didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked as she watched him heal, leaning close again to lick the last bit of blood from his mouth. That done, she pressed herself as close as she could to him, her cheek against his. She had heard the soft sound in the back of his throat when she had kissed him, worried she had hurt him more by biting there than at his wrist.
Logan: She broke away and he felt grateful and disappointed all at once. Ugh, this was messed up - he had to make his mind more rational. He couldn't have liked that, that wasn't the point. He was protecting her. He could - wouldn't allow himself to take advantage of her like that again. He should've pulled away as soon as she initiated it.
She was still crying and he sighed softly, reaching up a paw to gently wipe them away. He didn't like seeing her upset. Wrinkling his nose a little as she showed concern for him, he rolled his eyes, smiling sweetly as he relaxed beside her again, closing his eyes as her tongue touched his lips once more. Self-control, was all he needed. Restraint.
"I'm fine, 'Di. I've told you - whenever you need to drink, I'm here." he spoke, looking into her eyes with a serious expression, "Now answer truthfully - what's wrong, bub? You can't tell me it's nothing when you're crying."
Jedidah: "I have no idea," 'Di answered, laughing a tiny bit. Laughing and crying at the same time, goodness, what was wrong with her. "It's just... I'm so relieved. For the first time in a long time, I don't have to guard myself. I can be me, all of me and I feel safe and, and..." She trailed off there, unable to find anything more to explain herself. She never wanted to leave, never wanted to have to give up this feeling. It was more addicting than the hunger.
Logan: Logan watched her, not sure whether to believe her or not. No idea? Was she...alright? Was she getting a high off of the blood or something, that was causing all of this unusual behaviour? He was confused, but just listened, his mouth slowly curving upwards into a smile as he gathered her close, hugging her tightly. He was glad she felt this way.
"Then I'm happy," he whispered softly, nuzzling her cheek softly, purring. "Didn't I promise? I promised I'd get you out, and I have, bub. It makes me so happy to see you free."
And it was true. He didn't know why when he'd first met this stranger he'd grown so intrigued and attached - even now, weeks later, he had only met her a few times. But he knew her so well, and just knew that it was his fate to help her. And he'd succeeded.
Jedidah: 'Di pressed her face into Logan's fur after he had nuzzled her. It felt so good to be hugged like that.
"I want to stay with you," she finally admitted, both out loud and to herself. She knew she couldn't return to her family. Angelus could watch them. But he knew nothing of Logan. So the safest she could be was on her own or with him. And she liked that second option a lot more. She liked being truthful, it made the soft voice within so much more content. Had that been the problem all along? Her entire life, she'd been hiding a part of herself. Either her hunger or her personality. No longer hiding either, she felt as if a weight was taken off her shoulders.
"Like this. Please..." No matter how many times he'd tell her she didn't have to, she'd probably always ask for his permission. She smiled into his fur at her little mental quirk.
Logan: Logan smiled as she nuzzled him back - this was more like it. The tears worried him, and made him sad. He didn't like seeing her upset, it seemed to imprint onto him too.
Such a simple comment - but one that had his heart beating twice as fast, swelling up to push against his ribcage as his breath caught in his throat. She wanted to...stay with him? Of course, he'd have made her do so anyway, at least until she was fully healed. She needed protection, and he wanted to give it. But this...he had a feeling this was more than that. There was something else, something more intimate in her words.
"I...You don't even have to ask," he whispered, nuzzling her neck softly, in a rather fond gesture. He purred a little more, squeezing her closer to him. He found himself happy, that she was just as happy like this as he was.
Jedidah: 'Di twitched when he nuzzled her neck, moving her head so that she could push his head away from there. She didn't ump away like before, but that didn't mean she was okay with that. She didn't blame him, it was an easy thing to forget. "Anywhere but there," she explained her actions and rubbed her cheek against his jaw. His hairstyle intrigued and amused her. The contrast of the length and texture of the cream and brown on his cheek was novel to her.
Logan: Oh, damn! What a stupid thing to forget! As soon as he felt her nudging him away he jumped backwards, growl rising in his throat at his own stupid mistake. "'Di, I'm sorry...it just totally slipped my mind," he apologized, cursing himself for such a feeble excuse. Because that was all it was - an excuse. He should've known better.
Her returned affection calmed him a little, but he was still somewhat tense as he nuzzled her nose gently, nibbling on her ear playfully. "You should get some more sleep, 'Di. It's late."
Jedidah: "It's okay, I know you didn't mean to," Jedidah replied, still smiling. It made her happy to know that he was considerate of her feelings, and strong enough to admit when he had made a mistake. It seemed that with everything he did, she liked him more.
She shivered a bit at the playful n** and a small growl came from the back of her throat. "I've gotten used to sleeping during the day," she replied, figuring that was why she didn't feel much like sleeping. And him nibbling at the ear that hadn't been torn up in the fight was a distraction.
Logan: He may have not meant to, but he should've remembered all the same. Sighing softly, he continued with his aggectionate nuzzles and nips, though he was sure to avoid her neck. He was trying to relax her - and his efforts only doubled when she spoke about her nocturnal tendencies. Perhaps this would relax her enough to sleep - that was what he'd heard.
Jedidah: 'Di purred and shifted closer to him, her eyes closing. "That's not making me sleepy, Logan," she sighed, her voice sounding a little breathless. She liked his affectionate gestures. They felt good and helped her forget everything that had happened to her. She was happy she had only been tainted in her disapproval of faces/breathing on her neck. That all she felt when Logan touched her was him.
Logan: She purred and he smiled, almost feeling as if his mission was complete. Purring was a sign of true happiness, right? He nipped her ear playfully once more, chuckling deeply. "What, then?" he asked, completely unaware of why she might be breathless. He didn't stop, though.
Jedidah: "Mmmm, warm," was all she managed to get out. How could she feel calm and anxious all at once? If he kept that up, 'Di would go mad for sure, she was certain of it. "You're making me forget things," she paused there to purr again, nuzzling him in return. "Replacing bad memories..." It was true. The more he nuzzled her, the more she felt them. She'd never been touched in affection like that before him, her "faulty" memory was certain of that. And slowly becoming bound and determined to erase other things as well.
Logan: Warm? He chuckled again, licking up the length of her nose before settling down, relaxing on the ground. Forget things? Replacing bad memories? That was a good thing, right? He wasn't sure, and frowned as he paused in his nuzzles, looking at her carefully. "That's good, right?" He wanted to check, wanted to be sure. But none-the-less he sub-consciously continued, pressing his nose into her cheek.
Jedidah: "Mmm, very good." 'Di sighed. It didn't seem like he was understanding what she was trying to convey. His nuzzles were waking her up more than lulling her. She gave his cheek a lick and stroked her paw over his chest and shoulder. "But if you keep it up, you'll have me wanting to replace other bad memories," she sighed, moving back so that she could look at him. Her breathing was normal, but her heartbeat most certainly was not. She figured it had to be going at least twice as fast as normal.
Logan: Logan could really be oblivious to some pretty obvious things, and this was one of them. She praised him, so he continued with a low purr, not quite realizing exactly what was happening. He was feeling...happy. Almost like he wasn't totally there - drunk, just like he'd been when he'd tasted the liquid from the discarded can...
"Like what?" he purred, chuckling again as he rested his head on her chest, nose twitching at the sweet scent that seemed to come from her. She moved back and disappointment crossed his face, although he soon realized the mistake and frowned in concern, "Are you alright?"
Jedidah: 'Di sighed almost painfully. Did he really not know what he was doing? It was both an endearing and frustrating thought. "Like what happened to me that made you so mad you ran your claws through a rock and a tree." She couldn't help but wonder. Would she forget, then? She didn't want him to stop, it made her feel cared for. Was that wrong of her to want that feeling? She needed to know.
Logan: What happened to her that made him so mad th-ooooohhhhhhh. That. Feeling his cheeks flush pink with embarrassment, Logan diverting his gaze downwards. How stupid of him! He had been taking advantage of her without even realizing it. What that feeling was suddenly hit him like a truck and he stopped straight away, stiffening.
"...I'm sorry, 'Di," he whispered, shuddering a little at the thought of where it could have gone. He...he wasn't sure whether he'd have wanted it or not. But it wasn't fair to Jedidah. Not whilst she was in this state. "I shouldn't be taking advantage of you. I can...sleep out in the rain, if you'd prefer?"
Jedidah: 'Di's eyes widened and she shook her head quickly, clinging to him. No! She didn't want him to go, she needed him there with her. To know that she wasn't alone, that she was safe. "No, no I'd wish you would stay..." Her head dipped down after that, hiding her own embarrassment. "You weren't taking advantage... That... kinda implies I don't have a choice in the matter. I only... wanted to make sure you knew what you were starting, but if that's wrong ..." She didn't know how to end that statement. So instead she simply laid back down, trying to calm down so that she could go to sleep like he had wanted her to, earlier.
Logan: She shook her head and he stopped, allowing her to pull him back. If she didn't want him to go, he wouldn't. That was why he was here - he'd do anything she asked, and nothing less than that. He watched her, eyes shining with concern, the male clearly worried that he'd gone a step too far. He hadn't meant to...but again, he should've known better! Argh! She reassured him, but it didn't help much.
"I'll stay, 'Di, if you want," Logan spoke, settling back down beside her, "Anything you want, I'll give you. I...I'm sorry, for my lapse in judgement." His cheeks were still a little pink, "I'll...I'll back off."
Jedidah: 'Di hung her head a bit like a pup caught in her mother's sweets cupboard. "Is it wrong to say I don't mind? That... I was enjoying it?" she asked, glancing up at him to judge his reaction to her words. She didn't want him to back off, to watch himself around her. And she didn't want to have to do that, either, but if he wasn't interested, then she wouldn't push it, no matter how much she might have liked to. She was her mother's daughter after all.
Logan: His nostrils flared, Logan frowning deeply as he stared long and hard at her, looking for any dishonesty in her face. But her face was natural, with no creases or wrinkles. What was she trying to say? He said he'd do anything for her - but this didn't count, did it!? That was...was taking advantage. She wasn't thinking straight, was still healing. He shouldn't even be entertaining such thoughts!
But he was. And he couldn't help himself.
"Jedidah...careful of what you say," he growled softly, almost warning her. She was having an effect on him like he'd never felt before, and suddenly his heartbeat had accelerated. What was happening to him?
Jedidah: 'Di smiled a bit and nuzzled his cheek. "For once, I know exactly what I'm doing." Her reply was a whisper in his ear, shortly followed by her nipping at it like he had done to hers. He had growled at her, but he didn't seem angry. He had warned her when he did so, was he going to change? Would he be cruel with her now that she had given him her trust? So many things she had to know, and she had to know them right then. She felt flushed and wanted more nuzzles.
Logan: Did she, though? Did she know? It wasn't him he was worried about - it was her, and whether she really wanted this, or whether she was just wanting affection. She nipped his ear and he growled softly, although in a more fond, intimate way, rather than in an angry manner. He flipped over, his face right in front of hers, paws holding hers back as he looked straight into her eyes, to see any dishonesty in her words.
"I don't want to hurt you, Jedidah," he whispered softly, unable to speak any louder, "I don't want you to do something you'll regret."
Jedidah: Tears came to her eyes again when he said that. One fell before she could stop it. "I'm sorry," she whispered, knowing it bothered him when she cried, "I know you don't like it when I do cry. I just can't help it. Your kindness is overwhelming." She nuzzled his cheek, laughing just a little bit at herself. "I don't think I could regret anything with you..."
Logan: She was crying again? He sighed, beginning to turn away. He didn't want to pressure her, or make her feel awkward. He wouldn't leave, but he could keep his distance... Wait? She was apologising?! He frowned, instinctively reaching up to wipe her tears from her face, his own eyes filled with sadness. At her apology, though, he managed a smile, nuzzling her face in a rather emotional manner.
"Don't apologize, 'Di. Not for anything."
Was this right? Should he be doing this? But it felt so right, and so good. He'd asked her enough times, and she seemed surer than him. Purring he pulled her closer, pressing small, butterfly kisses over her face. "I'm so glad you're safe now..."
