It was the time of day that the artificial light in the dome dulled and made the illusion that the sun was setting. Nocturnal animals were beginning to stir as the day time creatures returned to theirs. All in all it was quiet, perfect for a dark shape like Spectra to pass through unnoticed. She was a loner and a wanderer, never staying in one place for long. Her only companion was a bat she called Nyx, though at the moment the bat was out searching for fruit.
Pausing, Spectra scented the air. She could smell the trail left by a deer, though it was hours old and the maker was probably long gone. She sighed, disappointed. Too bad, it would have made a nice meal. But she wasn't the type to give up. She decided to follow it anyway. It wasn't like she had anything better to do.

Loopy sighed happily as the fake sun began to set. Finally! He fluttered his wings as the dark began to descend. The wolf wagged his tail as he bent his nose to the ground and began to follow a faint deer scent. The night was always more peaceful then the day to him. Wait.... That wasn't a deer scent. The wolf froze and looked around, sinking to his belly. His eyes narrowed on a dark form only a short distance away and he hoped despertly that she didn't see him. Who knew what she'd do if she saw him.

Spectra had no idea that someone had caught her scent. Realizing that the trail was getting older and not fresher as she went she stopped and made an annoyed noise. Well that was a waste of time. She was about to turn around when the phony wind blew just the right way that she caught a completely different scent. This one was kind of strange and immediately she wanted to know where it was coming from.
There was something hiding just over there! He was flattened down and it was dark where he was so Spectra couldn't quite make out what he looked like. She frowned.
"Hey, you! Spying on me or something? Well sorry, there's no food here."

"I wasn't spying!" Loopy called as he sat up, flattening his wings against his back. "I was just exploring and I saw you but I didn't want to disturb your hunting so I crouched down and..." He trailed off, lowering his tail. "I'm Loopy."

Spectra tilted her head and studied him. Something seemed off about him but it didn't quite click in her mind. She stepped towards him, the gear around her neck glinting in the moonlight. "Oh stand up silly, I'm not going to eat you." She shook her head. "I was trying to find food, but nope, nothing here after all."
So his name was Loopy? He was loopy, all right. "I'm Spectra," she said reluctantly. She didn't like spreading her name around too much.

Loopy blushed lightly, his ears flicking back as he stood up. "It's.... nice to meet you?" He said softly as he gave a shy smile. "So what are you doing out here, Spectra? Just hunting?" It wasn't all that often that he saw wolves around his territory. It was pretty close to Forest of Shadows and thus, too dangerous for most.

"Uh-huh. And wandering about. It's never safe to-" Spectra squinted at him. There seemed to be a pair of odd lumps on his back. Had she stumbled across a wolf touched by the shadow-walkers? Well as long as he didn't bring them upon her, she didn't really care.
"Umm, stay in one place for long," she finished, nodding. "Unless someone's got your back, you know? Do you have a pack out here?"

Loopy tilted his head but soon shook it, frowning lightly. "No, no pack. I've been living by myself in a nearby cave." Although... We was beginning to think that having a family was something he would love to have. "Um... Do you have a family? I mean... Why are you wandering around all by youself?"

Ahh so he was a fellow loner. Spectra sat down and smirked. "I didn't know my family. Probably were tough wolves like me. I take care of myself." But then she was quiet a moment, her expression softening. "Actually, my family disappeared. They either left me, or worse..." She shook her head too. Wasn't like her to get sentimental.
"Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a family, you know? I've got my bat, but she can't talk, so company might be nice." She laughed a little, thinking about the one-sided conversations she sometimes had with Nyx.

"I never knew my family either." Loopy admitted softly before he nodded enthusiastically. "I would love to have a family. Especially some pups of my own but... Well I'm not to good with making relationships. You know?" He fluttered his wings lightly before he looked back to the female. "I have a bat too. He can talk, but he doesn't normally." He wagged his tail, as he stepped slightly closer. "He's the start of my family I guess."

Spectra laughed a little harder. "Hah, guess Nyx is the start of mine too. And really? You don't seem to have any trouble talking to me. There must be a pretty lady out there for you, eh?" She winked. "Even with those wings of yours."

The wolf blushed lightly, flicking his ears in embarassement. "Nah... I doubt it. 'Sides, I um... I think I'm going to end up with a guy. I mean, girls are pretty, you're pretty, but yeah..." He flicked his tails about and grinned at Spectra. "I'm sure there's a guy out there for you too." He hesitated lightly before asking softly, "So do you like pups?"

Spectra blinked at the revelation, then seemed to collapse under her laughter. When she could talk again she grinned. "Well to each his or her own I guess. Won't judge ya. Yeah, here's hoping we both find the right guy" Her grin seemed to turn into a kind smile for a moment, but her face lit up suddenly.
"Hey, I don't mind pups. Don't mind them at all." Not that she had much experience with them, but now wasn't the time to think about that. "And you want pups, right? Kind of hard for two guys..." She wondered if he was thinking the same thing that she was, so she sat down in the grass and tilted her head to one side, waiting for him to continue.

Again, he blushed. "Yes, it would be hard for two males..." Loopy paused, also taking a seat on the grass. "I guess... I guess we'd need a surrogate." As he spoke, the wolf looked curiously at Spectra. His ears lowered and he blushed harder than ever as he asked at a mere whisper. "I don't suppose...... I don't suppose y-you'd be....w-willing?"

"Eh, why not? Could be interesting," Spectra nodded in agreement. Her life was rather boring and at the moment and Loopy was a nice guy... Having little ones running about would surely be interesting. And she'd help Loopy out too. Her tail happily sweeped across the ground.
"I'd of course want to see them and stuff... Though if they drive me nuts you'll be stuck with 'em," Spectra joked, her characteristic grin back on her face.
