"Dievath, hold still please. Stop fidgeting."
Even as an adult, the large blue couldn't seem to hold still while his rider adjusted his straps. Ever since he'd been promoted to Assistant Weyrlingmaster he'd been fortunate enough to receive a small bonus on his monthly allowance. He'd been saving it up for quite some time now, in the hopes of buying some new leather for Dievath's straps. Not that his current set of riding straps was bad or anything – F'sey had sat with him when he'd made them and he would always be grateful for that – but the quality was rather poor. He was better at sewing now, and if he was going to set an example for the Weyrlings then he ought to at least have nice riding straps.
Well, they would be nice if Dievath would stand still long enough to let him measure properly. H'dra hesitantly stood up on tip toe, perched a little precariously on his blue's bent leg. One wrong twitch and he'd fall for sure, but he had to get this measurement right!
Mine are we done yet?

Brishen tilted his head, blinking twice at what he took to be a rather amusing feat of balance. Rider, elevated on dragon’s leg, on tip toe trying to adjust something he couldn’t tell from this angle. “Well,” he drawled looking to his cousin. “That a bit different, what do you think he’s doing?”
She snorted. “Likely measuring riding straps. Leather might have tore or perhaps frayed.” Ramaha pursed her lips, giving a small shake of her head. “Easier with help, fool is likely to break something.” Another small shake and she started down with a swush of heavy leather skirts.
“Oh? We are going to help?” ‘Rish question hurrying after his cousin, a bit shocked but rather pleased. He was going to get up close to another dragon. Not to mention the dragon in question was blue. Today was a good day. “Hello!” He called.
