Shouhou, the bustling port city situated on the southern end of Honshu, the main hub of trade between Kysuhu and the main island. There are always boats coming and going here, and villagers making their way through the busy markets that surround the docks. It's been a good summer for Shouhou, with large catches being taken in by the fisherman, thanks to their prayers to Ryujin.

Lately there have been rumours circulating the town, talking of a large shadow seen moving through the water- and a few of the boats haven't been returning back to the harbour. Although it could just be imaginations running wild, Inari has sent his moths throughout Nippon to contact Kuniku and let them know they may be needed here.

Inari here! Shouhou was attacked by a huge sea demon this morning, we need all Kuniku to help defend the villagers!
Many boats have been wrecked in the ocean and the humans who survived desperately need help back to shore- aquatic kuniku would fair best at rescuing the people and fighting off the sea serpent! Be careful, this is one of the most powerful demons I've ever seen!
A huge amount of sea Oushi have also been emerging from the surf and are making their way through the town, you land bound Kuniku had best fight these off and help evacuate the villagers!

Rules
-Anyone can join in as long as you own a Kuniku!
-Feel free to roleplay sea Oushi's actions against your Kuniku
-The sea serpent demon will be roleplayed by the staff!

Waha Nui, after recieving the news from Inari's moth, turned on her haunches and launched of the peir she had been resting on. One, two, three large strides to the end of the wooden dock and the green Kuniku flew into the crest of a wave, diving underwater with a small splash, barely audible to nearby creatures. A school of fish darted away from her, and Waha started slithering away from Kyushu, towards Honshu.
Her tail rapidly propelled her forward. Waha loved being helpful, but a Kuniku can't help to wonder when and if they are taking on more than they can handle. She slowed and raised her head above the water. Her nose, eyes and ears were exposed to the dark sky above the ocean. Should she wait for more Kuniku to arrive?
Suddenly, a large clash filled her ears, maybe a building had collapsed? Waha could smell demon stench. She started to growl, then heard the screams of fright and despair from Shouhou's people. There wasn't any time to wait, hopefully more warriors were coming from the North, perhaps even some from Kyushu had already arrived.
She dove deep underwater, ripping through the push and pull of currents, towards the dangerous sea serpent.

Ode was the only one in her family spending time in their homeland, Kyushu. Her father, Pacha, had been in Honshu for some time, visiting his friend, Buka. Ode had never been off the island, but now was no time to wonder if she would have father's permission. She darted to the nearest skiff, and started barking at the fisherman to take her to Shouhou! Hopefully her father, Uncle Jerro, brother and sister would already be there, fighting off the foul Oushi.

Sango walked happily off the boat, nodding to the humans that had ferried her over. She had never left Kyushu before, but was eager to go see the strange shadow the moth had told her about. Sango had just stepped off the pier when she heard a loud crash behind her. Several Sea Oushi had surfaced under the boat she had just left. A couple of the demons focused on the boat, but several continued towards shore. Sango sprinted towards the demons and collided into the side of the one closest to shore. She had only defeated one of these demons by herself before, but she wasn't about to let these fiends harm the poor, defenseless humans.

Lauwiliwilinukunukuoioi had encountered one of Inari's moths and grumpily swam towards Shouhou. He really had no idea what was going on there, only that a stupid moth found him while he was hiding and told him to go that town. Lau continued to grumble until he smelled something strange in the water, some sort of mixture of demon and human blood. Lau quickly swam to the source, hoping he was not too late.

The warning signs had been long telling of the situation that now made itself dire. To Kyokujitsu, the waters had been gradually transforming into a more hostile environment, and the calm, lounging fish he used to travel with were replaced by worrisome, frantic personalities, or a desolation that often came with an eerie quietness. Driftwood became increasingly common along with the the dreaded notion that the tanked ship wasn't the result of just a simple accident. It was very troublesome, to say the least, to deal with a new fear of coming across a lifeless body in the middle of the sea - one that the white aquatic kuniku was well aware of, and desired to displace.

So he turned his thoughts onto the coming of the enemy; it had been ages since he had encountered demons, let alone one that could devastate so many. He knew there was something lurking beyond the shadows of the sea--there was always a huge, dangerous "mastermind" who coordinated these events that affected more than the occasional isolated case. What it was, Kyokujitsu did not know, but his cool toned eyes expressed a focused intent as his strong tail waved through the water, propelling himself southwards, where he heard the demon had revealed itself.

As he was swimming quickly, he soon noticed other aquatic kuniku appear, seeming to head for the same target; he nodded to some, aware of everyone's goal, and gladly assumed allies. If Inari needed all the help he could summon in the waters, Kyokujitsu was not one to deny his aquatic creation.

Demons! Ears flattened against her head, Sakana swam quickly, determined to aid the humans before the village was utterly destroyed. Size was forgotten--when it came right down to it, it didn't matter that she was smaller. She was quick and strong, and she was going to help! Darting to Kyokujitsu's side, she gave him a quick nod before following him.

Myou had...well, she'd been asleep. That hadn't stopped the moth from waking her, nor had it stopped the dark kuniku from rushing to Shouhou. Kyokujitsu was there already, as was Sakana--knowing there was strength in numbers, she joined the group that was beginning to form. "Attacking or rescuing?" she asked Kyo. She at least wanted to know if they were on the offensive against the demon, or on the defensive to rescue villagers.

The sea was in turmoil. The waves crashed against the shore, nearly tearing the boats from where they were tied. Suiei was the calm amongst that storm. He sat on a large rock just above the raging waters; his expression strangely tranquil. He had felt it in the undercurrents, a disturbance that would soon erupt. But he had not lived his many years by worrying; he let the world’s troubles wash over him. They usually sorted themselves out.

And so he continued to watch until the coiled serpent reared its head above the water and only them did he slip into the surf. With the enemy target identified Suiei decided the only way to protect his peaceful life was to remove those who were ruining it. The Kuniku had been created to destroy these beings after all and each one needed to take their part in that.

Suiei began headed steadily towards the enemy, bypassing the smaller Oushi and leaving them to his brother’s on land.

Note: Gonna let a few more post before throwing the sea serpent at them. ;D

"Hmm? Demons, you say?"

Inari's moth had fluttered away from him after having landed square on his nose. Of course, there wasn't really much else to land on in the first place. Sangokai had been treading in the oddly angry waters of Honshu, and had smelled something odd (he hadn't known the scent of demons quite well), swimming up to the surface to see if he couldn't get a better look... When the moth had landed on the tip his nose. Well, if that wasn't odd...

Kai, having a rather weak light bulb in the proverbial attic, had not recognized the moth at first, so when it started speaking the information that needed to be passed on... Well, frankly, the aquatic Kuniku didn't hear half of what was said by the little creature. His pale eyes just widened and crossed to be able to focus on the moth, curious as to how it was able to fly so far from the land, and how it was able to find him just as he popped up from the surf. By the time the little insect had finished, Kai had finally realized what exactly was going on. 'Oh. It was talking to me.' Sangokai gave a little nervous laugh and grinned, cross-eyed at the moth. "Run that by me again?" And with a slightly irritated tone, the small creature repeated everything it had said only moments before, not bothering to see if Kai understood the message this time. If he didn't get it by now, he probably shouldn't be going to fight demons and rescue humans, anyway.

Unfortunately, all that was heard was 'Blah blah blah disasters, blah blah disturbance of peace, blahhhhh fight demons.'

All right! It was adventure time! Diving quietly back into the water, Sangokai surged through the choppy waves, spinning and swirling around rocks and beds of seaweed, following the strange scent he had now registered as demons. Popping up for a little fresh air, the pale teal Kuniku spotted his personal hero poised up on a high rock, looking more like a god himself, than anything. "Ocean-Heart!" he called over the noise of the raging sea. His voice was lost, however, not reaching the pricked ears of his friend. Having been so incredibly focused on the deep blue and silver Kuniku (And not paying much attention to anything but the older Kuniku), he completely missed the serpent raise his head... But instead only saw Suiei dive gracefully into the sea. With a quick decision, Kai decided to swim hurriedly over to the other, but just as he curled himself around the rock, he found himself faced with not only a deep drop-off, but also the coiled body of the sea serpent.

Freezing in the water, Sangokai could only stare at the massive beast, feeling incredibly small. It was at that moment when he wondered if the moth had done this on purpose... Or. Maybe, perhaps... He should have listened better.

A teasing wave pushed and pulled Waha from side to side. She caught site of Kyokujitsu. He was an unknown Kuniku, but they were all sons and daughters of the great Inari. Waha breached to take in a gulp of air, then dove again, swimming with Kyokujitsu, Sakana, and the other warriors.
Coming in form another angle, Waha could see the movements of two more Kuniku, Suiei and Sangokai. They must be closing in on the monster. She shot her eyes forward, searching for the dark shadow. Water streamed off her muscles. Everyone had to be on their toes. If they were lucky, they could get the serpent surrounded.

Sango must have just arrived in Honshu before Ode. She saw the Kuniku fending off Oushi the moment her boat docked. Ode pushed off the distressed wood and launched into the water to attack the remaining monsters.
Two sizable Oushi clutched to the underbelly of the boat. People aboard it screamed in horror. The demons rocked it back and forth, threatening to capsize the defenseless hunk of wood. The humans would surely be easy targets if they were to fall in the water, Ode thought. She flailed widely, and sunk her teeth into one of the Oushi. It reared and screeched, then dove underwater. Ode let go before being pulled to deep, but then the Oushi just resurfaced and swam back to the boat. The black and purple Kuniku was by no means an experienced swimmer, and was no match for the sea demons. Hopefully an aquatic Kuniku would show up soon. Ode had to do something for the humans, but could only stall the inevitable.

At first, he'd had trouble taking the warning seriously. Something about the threat being delivered by way of furred insect bodies made it all seem a little surreal, even if he knew the messengers were not to be trifled with or doubted. They were the mouthpieces of Inari, and there would be no amnesty granted for insubordination. Still, if not for the prickling Xerxes had felt in his fur days before, he might have been less prone to occupying the docks and slapping the water with his finned tail, daring something to rise up to the surface. But he'd assumed the reaction was just from Oushi drawing unusually close to each other to swim in groups, making temporary schools before they went their separate ways again. That would have explained the sightings, the inherent dislike that stewed in his stomach.

When the moths came again, he cursed his lax behavior, and was among the first to jump into the churning waters. Frustration built when he found familiar areas troublesome to navigate, the channels mixed up, currents turned in on themselves with a fearsome creature roaming their depths. He had to fight to stay on course, every fiber and fin pulling to maintain. The ocean that touched the shores was void of fish, instead hosting the drowned dead, those who had been taken out in the first wave. He nosed at them, breathed bubbles to see if they reacted, then moved on to those he could help. Overhead, the driftwood that shadowed the surface was lacquered and painted in bright shades, the remnants of vessels that the leviathan had eradicated with its appearance. It was a pity to see the sleek boats reduced to so much debris, echoing the destruction taking place in the city beyond his immediate reach.

All around, he could sense other Kuniku searching, wary but determined to aid. No one he recognized, but kinship ran strong and proud, and he murmured blessings under his breath as he swam further out. The first human he found was in a panic, flailing and sputtering, only too glad to cling to his thick ruff when he slid his white-dabbed nose under his arm for support. Half-choked, it was a long haul to shore, and he constantly cast his gaze around, intent on finding other live ones. Just because the demon had vanished for a time did not mean it was done. They needed to be swift.

Kohaku swam as quickly as his paws would carry him to the shore of the pond he'd been resting in when Inari's moth had told him the news of the demons wreaking havoc around the port city Shouhou. As soon as his paws met the dirt he began a mad dash toward the beach and out of the forest. His heart was pounding quickly in his chest; he didn't have very much experiencing fighting against sea Oushi, but more than once he'd gotten them away from him by giving them a sharp bite to the gills when they'd chased him around the coral reefs near Kyushu. As he approached the beach, he happened to come out of the forest near Sango and Ode. His ears flattened back when he realized that both the girls were taking on tough demons in one-on-one combat, but he rushed past Sango to help Ode first because she probably wouldn't last very long out in the water. "Go help the other girl with the Oushi on land, I'll take care of these ones here!" he called out to her, hoping that she's hear him above the crashing waves. Despite being a little small for an adult Kunifish, Kohaku wouldn't easily be taken down.

Kogane was definitely shocked when the little white moth that Inari had sent relayed the message about the sea serpent attacking. "What? No way!" He interrupted the moth more than once to throw in little comments of surprise as it 'spoke'. The dual-colored Kunifish abandoned his perch on a rock poking up out of the water and dove into the sea, quickly making his way through the choppy water. It wasn't long before he spotted the other Kunifish making their way toward the largest of the demons, and he gave a slight grin underwater. With this many to fight, surely they'd be able to win against their foes? Kogane pulled up alongside Lau, speaking although they were still swimming beneath the waves "Hey, how much do you want to bet that we'll finish this guy off before sundown?" Although it wasn't entirely appropriate, the treasure-hunter of the deep couldn't help but keep a good mood despite all the havoc around him.

Sango noticed Ode and Kohaku attacking the oushi at the boat, but she didn't dare leave her post on the shore. With every demon she defeated, two more surfaced. Sango continued to fight off the oushi, but they were pushing her back and were nearly at the tree line.

If Lau was on land, he would have jumped ten feet in the air. Despite the all of the commotion in the water, Lau had thought himself invisible. He muttered something about his yellow head to himself and turned and looked at Kogane. "I bet we will if the thing ever moves." Lau paddled his feet absently, slightly eager to fight the serpent demon.

Those who had chosen to take on the sea serpent were rapidly approaching the massive beast. It had now slipped beneath the surface of the water; disappearing from view in the deep breathes.

The smaller sea Oushi kept coming out from the ocean; attacking both humans and Kuniku alike.

It was then that the sea serpent chose to emerge completely; it burst out of the sea, sending massive waves rolling towards the shore.

With an ear splitting roar it dived back down into in the direction of its enemy Kuniku. Jaws were opened wide as it charged down towards the closest group; clearly unperturbed by its competition and ready to tear them apart.

There were others going in the same direction as Suiei; and where able, he gave them a nod. They were warriors, heading out together into battle. A Sea Oushi charged him from the side and he turned sharply, hitting out at it with his tail. The demon came at him again and Suiei was forced to take care of him before continuing on.

After a brief tussle Suiei’s head popped up, the cloud of blood from the Oushi quickly swept away by the current. As the sea serpent chose its moment to burst out of the ocean. The older male took a breath and dived deeper into the water to escape the enormous waves.

It was almost as if in the blink of an eye, more arms joined that soon enough, the white koi-reminiscent kuniku was lined shoulder to shoulder with his companions. It was no surprise that a couple he recognized and called his comrades were by his side straightaway. He allowed his tail to graze by the tails of his known friends, grateful that they would be united and together in this fight. He was not one for many words in this time - it seemed redundant to utter anything but words that actually mattered. But when the very dark face that brimmed with vivid orange eyes came, addressing him, he turned to briefly reply.

"Both," Kyo breathed out, pace maintaining the swift stride it continued in, "I will go for the strike on the one making most of the mess, however. Down any passing sea oushi, but be quick with them as possible; if not, leave them weak enough and keep moving. They won't be the ones causing major damage."

However hard it was to keep track of all the other aquatic kuniku that had joined in swimming alongside him, Kyokujitsu still felt a strong bond interconnect them all; noses pointed towards a single straight direction, gazes laced with intent, and fangs bared readily for the attack on what threatened their freedom. Eyes flickered towards what looked to be a muddled yellow and green female going up for air, then turning onto a couple of other sea green and sea blue emerging forms, and lastly, watching a black one speckled with small white marks carry a human back to shallow water. He was glad there were others to help in taking struggling survivors back to land, but he was propelling outwards to rid of the origin of evil; that effort he was surely going to accomplish.

"There it is," Kyo remarked as the vision of the sea serpent became visible, "Now, keep--!"

As the sea serpent shot straight in the air, the effect of the waves was so massive in Kyo's direction as to push him a little backwards, throwing him off; his words were lost as he spun around briefly in the water, but he recollected himself with a fiercer look emblazoning his face, irritation lacing his brow. He left his advice behind, shooting towards the serpent now like an arrow, claws outstretched. His head shook with a motion to his fellow comrades, saying it was the right time to charge and surround the beast; it already knew where they were coming from, so it was best to reach and deal with it without a moment's hesitation.

A wave caught the little orange Nemo as he panted from the sudden rush. It was hard dealing with the sea oushi when one was at such a size and couldn't even begin to sneak up on one. He stuck out like a fish out of water, frankly, but made his mark on a couple regardless. He watched as bigger aquatic kuniku zoomed by, and nodded towards the brave warriors. His legs paddled to start to join them, but head turned towards the shoreline, noticing a few drifting humans around and the occasional sea oushi terror. He was conflicted, but his heart told him that he would be better able at picking up the several survivors wafting about the waters he traveled well in, and protecting anything defenseless from the smaller demons.

It wasn't nice to pick on defenseless beings, and this thought spurred the orange striped aquatic miniature to quickly stroke towards the closest human he found; however, his short legs allowed for another darker, very capable regular aquatic to save the human before he got to him. Instead of feeling beaten to the punch, he smiled, grateful that everyone was rallying to support the defense of their home. And as he immediately began looking around again for something else to tend to, he couldn't see any trouble from his part of the sea. He followed the black aquatic kuniku with the human, then, small legs slower than the other even without a human passenger. When he reached the shore, he attempted to signal the human rescuer down, ears perking with gladness that he wasn't an individual anymore.

"Thanks!" was the first word he could think of saying, and then, "I wonder if the ones going for the serpent need any more help... It's so big."

Truthfully, Nemo may have been scared by something of that magnitude, but he was entirely dedicated to preserving the welfare of allies and humans that needed his aid.
