Not again.

When Eve had finally found spare time to indulge herself in a shopping trip, she couldn't find a single friend that would accompany her. None! She had to listen to some busy tones, some apologies and even some automated messages when she dialed their numbers. Still, she was determined to go to the mall today, for school could only get busier. Who knew when was the next time she could go out and shop? Eve had to calm herself with the thought that it was fine to go out shopping by herself every once in a while. At least, for a limited amount of time, she was free! Free from the constraints of school (she had actually finished her homework!), free from dance practice!

Plastering a cheerful smile onto her face, the blonde stepped into the mall, greeted by the blast of cold air when the automated glass doors opened. For now, it was time to shop! Nothing else could take her away from completing this mission!

Considering the fact that at Hillworth, you had to go in pairs, neither of the Xanis brothers found it hard to escape into what one might consider the real world. That world being, anywhere but Hillworth. And on weekends like this, neither of the bothers could stand to be stuck in that hellish place.
Crystal was utterly off limits, (especially after their last visit for girl watching), and Meadowview apparently dead on weekends. So, no girl watching there either. Which left the brothers with a few options on how to go about girl watching.

And considering the odd heat, they chose a place that was known for its ladies, and its perks. The Destiny City Mall. Cool, packed with people, (and pretty girls), it would give the brothers their usual bout of girl watching. Or, in Elzo's case, flirting and being shot down multiple times. Marlo was content to simply watch.

It was progressively getting boring to watch his brother get shot down, (although it never ceased to be amusing), Marlo felt that it was time to do what average people did in the mall, and shop. After all, they did need new socks and a few personal items. Standing up and making his way across the hall to a nearby clothing store, Marlo was too into watching his brother get shot down, to notice what was right in front of him. So naturally, he ran into a pillar. Forcibly. Falling down, Marlo could hear, Elzo curse and stand above him.

Face was in pain, and he felt something run down his face. Reaching up, he wished it wasn't true. But it was. Bloody nose. Pinching his nose shut, Marlo hissed in pain as he sat upright, while Elzo began to fret. Pulling out his handkerchief, Marlo just held it to his face and waited for the bleeding to stop. To bad his shirt was utterly ruined.

Inhaling the air around her, Eve couldn't help but grin. She could practically smell a sale, always start to shopping! A blissful smile upon her face, her eyes darted about to scrutinize the shops, wondering which one she should enter first. Perhaps a little walking around and looking into the shop windows would be a good start. She felt a little twang of regret that she hadn't been more forceful, more persuasive, leaving her to wander around alone, without the joy of gossiping together with a companion.

Heaving a sigh, Eve headed towards a nearby store, only to clap her hand over her mouth in surprise when a boy practically slammed himself into a pillar right in front of her. Torn between laughter (why wasn't he looking when he was walking?) and concern, the blonde decided to hold in her giggles and squatted down to peer at him. "Are you alright? You really should be more careful!"

Holding his nose, and blood running down his shirt, Marlo didn't really have any retort. He should have been more careful. And now, a cute girl had seen his blunder. Talk about embarrassing on massive levels. "Ib tribed." His speech was utterly butchered by his plugged nose. "Sobry." God, he must have sounded pathetic. Turning away, he felt a bit of shame. He was a mess. Why she even bothered to talk to him was utterly unimaginable to him.

Elzo was an entirely diffrent story however. "He's not normally a space case. He provably just got distracted with your cuteness." Winking, Elzo offered his brother some napkins, which Marlo happily exchanged for his bloody handkerchief. "Ibnor him. He's a muron." His speech was little better but not by much. It did bring Elzo to a light snicker. "Shub up. Now I'll neeb to get a new shirp." Standing, Marlo felt a bit dizzy. Had he really lost so much blood?

Eve gave a light giggle, then stopped, feeling a little guilty for laughing at the boy's misfortune. She really couldn't help it though, it was rather amusing how strange he sounded like that, and there was the other guy who had flirted with her, if she was correct in her inference. "Pinch the bridge of your nose." She suggested, rising up to bounce on the balls of her feet. "I hear it helps to stop the bleeding!"

Her eyes alighted curiously onto his shirt as he mentioned the need to get a new one and winced at the sight of blood splattered all over it. Really, one couldn't walk around like that! It was good that he had enough sense to want to change; she had thought most guys would actually like having blood stains on their outfits, to give them that 'tough' image. Apparently, and luckily, not all boys thought this way. "Well, at least you're lucky you're in a mall!" She piped up cheerfully. "You can easily buy a new shirt here!"

Elzo briefly contemplated pushing his brother, just to walk him stumble. However, he didn't feel the need to embarrass his brother in from of a cute girl, he was doing so fine on his own. "Ha, Marlo likes to shop. He'll probably spend the next hour mulling over shirts in a store. Then once you think he's picked one out, nope, he's not satisfied." Okay, Elzo might not trip him up, but he couldn't make him look good. Wait. Some girls liked shoppers. Hopefully not this one.

Taking the girl's advice, Marlo moved to pinch the bridge of his nose. Elzo comment did make him try to kick at his shins, (but missing drastically). "You..." He took a gulp of air, which to him, make talking a bit easier. "Shub up. Sorry abob this miss. My brother is a muron." Turning to face her full on, Marlo blushed at her cheerfulness. Most girls would run off by now. But her she was talking to a stranger covered in his own blood. It was endearing, in a bizarre kinda way.

Eve tilted her head slightly to the side, peering at the 'bleeding nose boy', whose name seemed to be Marlo. "Really? You like to shop?" Her cornflower blue eyes lit up at this revelation; oh oh, maybe she would have a shopping buddy after all! Who said boys couldn't be shopping buddies? She just never found the right ones... boys usually liked to shirk away from the very mention of 'shopping'. "I mean, I've never really met a guy who likes to shop. It's kinda sad, really. You've gotta put some thought into your outfit, y'know? Girls don't like guys who dress weirdly. At least I don't. I'm pretty sure Kala and the rest wouldn't either."

"Nah, it's okay." Eve reassured the boy. "I mean, that's how brothers are supposed to be right? Well, I'm not sure myself, cause I'm an only child...but at least that's what I heard it's like. It's kinda cute, really."

The girl's enthusiasm made Elzo slightly wince. He was like the guys she mentioned. You shopped for function, not fashion. What was hard to understand about that? But...she was pretty. And, lord knew he liked Pretty girls. "Well, think you can help us find Marlo here a new shirt that would look good? I'm afraid I lack a bit of fashion sense." Said the boy who had up until two weeks ago worn swim trunks under his pants so he could hit the pool whenever he wanted.

"Shobbing is a skill. You've gob to get em with the sales. Not to mention the trends." Marlo nodded in agreement with the girl. You had to dress to impress as they say. Pulling away, the paper towels, he winced as the small movement sent a jolt of pain through his face. Elzo thankfully had thought ahead for once and offered clean one, which Marlo greedily accepted. For such a small part of his body, it sure gushed a lot of blood. The line about being brother made them cute...that sure brought a lot of blood to their faces, in a moderately good way.

Eve beamed brightly at Marlo's brother's suggestion and it wasn't hard to tell that she was positively delighted at the prospect of shopping with others. "Well, if you don't mind, I would love that! It's never fun to shop alone, y'know? My girl friends were all busy and couldn't accompany me to the mall." At this, she gave a little pout. Really, Eve often seemed rather unfortunate with the whole 'shopping buddy' thing these few weeks. But at least she was making new friends? Perhaps this all really was a blessing in disguise!

She gave Marlo a thumbs up and a wink. "Exactly! You've got to accentuate your looks, not make yourself look worse!" As she always liked to say, if you've got it, flaunt it with a cute outfit!

"If you want. I dunno how much help Elzo will be. He'd just grab the nearest shirt and leave." Finally, Marlo's nasal passages weren't clogged and he didn't sound like a bad cartoon character. Pulling the bits of bloody tissue from his nose, he sighed with relief as no more blood flowed. He had almost thought it wouldn't end. It almost looked from the front of his shirt, like he'd gotten stabbed. "Elzo, can I-?" "Sure thing bro." The silent communication between the brother was a bit odd and yet, seemingly natural. Immediately, Elzo had removed his jacket and handed it to Marlo. "Be right back Miss." Marlo quickly ran to the nearest bathroom, most likely to wash off some of the blood and toss out his old shirt.

"He'll be back soon. Probably has to go primp himself. Humf." Elzo crossed his arm. If Marlo ruined that sweatshirt, he wouldn't be happy. "Anyway. I'm Elzo. Elzo Xanis. I don't think I got your name cutie." He offered his hand with a wink. Always the flirt.

Eve bobbed her head vigorously in glee. Yes! Now she wouldn't need to wander around the mall alone miserably. She was exaggerating, of course, browsing through pretty outfits and accessories usually took her mind off everything else, though she usually depended on a trustworthy friend's opinion before she actually bought it. Eve never did trust shop assistants.

"Ah, I'm Eve Summers!" The girl introduced herself in return, shaking his hand gently. "Nice to meet you and your brother. I was starting to think I was going to be lonely for the day. It's never really nice to have no one talk to. I guess it's lucky you two have each other. I mean, I do have friends I really love hanging out with, but it's not the same with a sibling, right? There's a sort of bond...at least that's what I think they call it."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:50 am

"Eve. Pretty name for a pretty girl. And really? All alone? That's a shocker. Most girls come in packs." Elzo realized what he had just said. "But, uh, not that I'm comparing you to dogs or anything." Something told him he could have just made it worse. Whatever 'it' might pertain too. "I mean...that is to say....Sorry." Rubbing the back of his head, Elzo's mind ran rampant, trying to think of a recover, when rather it come up from behind him.

"Again, pay him no mind. He's a bit...tactless and doesn't put much thought into what he says." Marlo's voice was flat, a clear sign he had grown exasperated with his brother. But, Elzo could have cared less. "Hey bro! Uh, how long you been there?" Marlo glanced up at his brother. "Long enough to see you make a fool of yourself." Ouch, Marlo was never one to hold back when it came to Elzo's blunders, that was for sure. "If there is any sibling bond between us, I'm pretty sure it's been strained over the years." "You say something Elli?" "Nope. Nope. Lets get you a new shirt."

Smirking Marlo turned back to Eve. "If you are not put off, may we still accompany you shopping Miss...?"

"Well, I think I know what you mean." Eve pursed up her lips thoughtfully. "I do usually come to shop with a bunch of girl friends, but I seem to have encountered enough bad luck; they all seem to be busy with other things. And I even got a few automated messages while calling them!" A small frown formed on her face as she remembered the audacity of the matter. How could one make themselves inaccessible? Cellphones were made so that people could keep in touch with you! If you have the decency to carry it wherever you went and answer it when it rang, you were better off not having one, in Eve's opinion.

She watched the two brothers argue, her blue eyes crinkling in amusement. "Of course!" She replied brightly, clapping her hands together. "So, which store do you usually frequent for clothes?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 22, 2009 8:16 pm

Marlo gave her his best gentle smile, still unaware of her name. Playing of sibling understanding, he looked to Elzo who knew just how to fix the problem, (but for a second, he thought about letting Marlo squirm). "Well Eve, Normally we have to go to the land of uniforms, but, I don't think Marlo is looking for that." Pulling his brother into an embrace, Marlo couldn't escape the light, (if you could call it light), noogie. "Arg, Elzo!" Laughing, Elzo did let Marlo go, but not before ruffling his hair into a mess.

"Humpf. Well Eve, I don't really have a preference so long as it looks good, and feels good. I'm more of a collared shirt man. I like to look..up kept you know." "More like a primped mathlete." Marlo shot his brother an angry look, which only made him snicker. "What would you suggest? I haven't kept up on any latest fashions." He motioned for her to walk beside him. As to where, he was a bit unsure.

Eve merely gave a giggle in response as she watched the siblings perform a display of affection...what was it called again? Being in an all girls school had it perks, but it too, had it's downsides. There weren't any guys around, though their presence could be annoying, as some of her classmates professed, Eve thought their rowdiness made things much more fun and interesting. Still, Crystal had much prettier uniforms than Meadowview! And red (or was it orange) wasn't really her color.

"Collared shirts are cute." Eve replied. "It really depends really. It's like how some guys can pull off sweater vests and some guys simply...can't." Even if you were up on the latest fashion, if you looked horrible in it, just abandon it! That was Eve's personal opinion.

"Uh...well." The blonde pondered. "I always thought those shirts with quirky captions looked cute on guys. I'm not exactly sure where to find those though; I've never shopped for boys. Besides picking out some stuff for Daddy, but that doesn't really count."
