Penance was wandering along. He had come from his home in search for arcorns for his squirel friend. so far he hadn't quiet gotten lucky, but that didn't bother him. It was a nice day, and temperance, his companion, was up in the trees chittering with the birds. Penance looked up ahead and spotted a clearing. Perhaps there would be some easeir finds at the edges up there. He lifted his tail and headed over, finding the medow with more flowers then he had seening in a long time.

Warm in the sunlight, surrounded by flowers... Charmin was content. She absently listened to a squirrel chattering away in a nearby tree. The strong aroma of the flowers was helping her to daydream, which helped keep her mind off the embarrassing accident she had earlier. While crossing a stream via a log, she fell in, and got soaked. She hated water with a passion. For a moment Charmin paused, and listened intently to her surroundings; she thought she heard something move toward her.

Penance looked abotu the clearing and saw no one. He smiled to himself as he roamed ahead into the clearing. A Grass hopper caught his eye, and he lowered himself, ready to get it. It would make a nice quick bite to eat. He smiled and pounced missing the bug entierly, and landing on something soft, wet and furry? He glanced down and noticed he has landded on someone. "Oh I'm sorry." he scrambled off.

Charmin heard the sounds of a grasshopper, then of a larger creature. What on earth is-- her thought was cut off as something landed on her. As the creature got off, she stood up and shook herself, looking at who had caused the end of her relaxing. She tilted her head curiously at the other feline. "Oh, that's alright. What's your name?" she asked as she sat down, and licked her paw gently.

Laying down again, she replied, "I am Charmin. There's no need to apologize. I'm sure I may have done the same if I came across a grasshopper myself." She leaned over and nibbled gently at a yellow flower, then rubbed the side of her face on it, purring all the while.

"Oh well thanks for understanding. Awe, I lost the grasshopper." he glanced around looking ofr it and then plopped his tail end down, sighing. "So why is your name charming?" he reached up with his hind foot to scratch his ear.

She flicked her tail gently, stopping from rubbing on the flower. "I'm sure there will be more grasshoppers," she said consolingly, "there are quite a few around this meadow." She closed her eyes and continued indulging her senses in the flowery scents, never ceasing to purr. Then she heard mention of her name being 'charming', which confused her. "Charming? It's Charmin. Otherwise I'm not sure I understand..." she trailed off, distracted by a waft of distant flowers that smelled different from what she knew.

Charmin opened her eyes again to stare at Penance, and listened to him chuckle. Then when he ran off, she continued to lay where she was, hoping he would come back. She was rather enjoying the company. Before she even felt a hint of loneliness, he had returned with some blue flowers in his mouth. They smelled like the ones that she didn't recognize, and her face lit up with excitement. "I love flowers! And those blue ones are a mystery to me still," she replied happily, stretching her neck to sniff at the petals more closely.

He smiled feeling like he was rather lucky for some reason. But he shook it off. He set the flowers next to her. "Good. I'm glad. Do you like squirrles?"

Sniffing the flowers, Charmin considered the question for a moment. Lifting her head to look Penance in the eyes, she responded, "Squirrels? I don't know, to be honest. I've never seen one up close." Setting her nose back toward the flowers, she pawed at them gently to carefully separate them, and sniffed them one by one, trying to memorize their scents.
