Sitting on the edge of the firekin border, Jyotika looked out at the greener lands of the savannah, the long grasses and the not too distant herds which were black splotches on the horizon. She liked to sit out here occasionally and look at the world. She wasn't interested in leaving the lands of her birth but the lands on the outside occasionally seemed of interest to her, and why shouldn't they? They were there and they perked her interest even if they were the outside world.

Stretching out her claws she gave a large wide yawn and smiled at the sky, her glossy fur glistened in the sunlight. The outside was a place of no interest for her but it was there and she was willing to sit on the borders and watch it filter by.

Nose burried in the grasses as he followed the scent of a smaller creature he'd injured earlier, he was going to find it and finish the job.

It wasn't in his nature to be cruel or harmful of another, but hunger pangs in his own belly reminded him of the cycle of the land. It was his job to keep the smaller critter population in check and it seemed he'd been neglecting his job.

Sa'd had traveled as far as his eyes could see, well worn paw pads were only further proof to his wandering ways.

Jyotikas ears flickered and twitched as she turned her attention on the maned wolf, a dog was of little use or interest to her, they were little things that went below her notice, this one though was about to wander in to firekin lands and well, she didn't like to see them poaching their food, most of these little things were scavangers after all. "You, dog, what do you think you are doing?" She growled sitting tall, her odd eyes, one blue, one red, scanning the creature.

"You arn't welcome in these lands, off with you mutt."

His head lifted, he looked at the one whose voice had broken his thoughts. "What?" He blinked, and then sniffed the air, he was definately to close to this pride for even his own comfort.

"I do assure you, I've no interest in wandering onto your lands Miss." He said, he paused in his movement, head cantered tot he side as he looked over her for a moment before looking around, to make sure there wasnt any other threats around.

Jyotika lashes her tail, causing a little dust storm of sand to raise around her, she glares at the dog and licks her dark lips. "you make sure to tell the rest of you lot they arn't welcome here dog, the moutoujami do not welcome mutts in to their midst." She snaps narrowing her wall eyes at him. "What are you doing here any way? Sensible creatures know we are here and go the other way. You looking for trouble?" She stands slowly showing her bulky black and white form, the fur on her hackles raising as a warning.

"Wow, aren't you just full of disrespect." He mused more to himself than to her really. His ears drew back at continue of being called dog and mutt, he snorted.

"The name is Sa'd, learn to use it." He snipped, he could only take so much. "And Im tracking some prey that managed to slip away." He said, though he felt he had no need to explain himself to her.

At the sight of her shackles on the rise, his ears flattened completely against his skull. "Trust, me. We can smell your lot from a mile away." He snorted with a roll of his sunset like orbs.

The large lioness let a low growl roll over her lips. "Why would I learn a dogs name? You are of no use to us, you only scavange what is rightfully ours." She grumbles her gaze glancing over the wolf. Foolish creature, surely his nose didn't work properly if he would come this close to their lands? "then you are simply a fool obviously, imagine walking this close to this pride, are you looking to be eaten?" She snorts, following prey? A likely story.

"You've been poaching then? Stupid mutt, hunting on our lands is paramount to stealing from the firekin!"

He laughed, "Only the prideful are as foolish as you it seems." He shook his head, he remembered a time when there was respect shown to those different than yourself.

"Im no poacher! Who are you to accuse me of such a thing without a lick of proof." His tail flicked out behind him now, his usually good hearted nature was being tested already.

Jyotika scoffed, her ears flickering forwards in a fighting stance "And who are you that you would hunt on lands hat clearly belong to me and mine." She growls lashing her tail around her causing small storms of sand to whip around her legs. "If I was you I'd start running now foolish dog, I have little paitence for those whom can't walk away when they see they are in trouble."

She takes a slow step forwards lowering herself in to a crouch "You should prey I don't find you poaching here again, I am not normally this lenient to creatures that dare hunt in our reserve."

"Im not on your lands lion." He snorted, keeping his own stance firm. "These lands I stand on now, are free for all..and are not yours for your own selfish needs." He snapped.

Sa'd's temper rare came out, but she was definately brining out the worst in him, something he'd be ashamed of later most likely. "I do not run, because I've done nothing wrong to run from." He watched her, she was definately bigger than he was, but that just gave her added weight, meaning he was quicker on his paws.

Jyotika growled a low, snarling growl, shifting her weight from one forepaw to the other she hinted at a run and pounce,t he classic lioness tactic. She knew she wouldn't be able to capture a wiley litte hound but she was betting she could scare him half to death and that in itself was worth a little chase.

"Don't say I didn't warn you muttley!" She growls and pounces towards him her tail wrangling out behind her like a balancing rudder.

He waited, his eyes never leaving her as he watched her. She'd was doing what most lioness's did, he'd been around enough of them to know this, as she lept at him, he dodged, snapping his jowls at her side in warning as he just barely missed being squished under her paws.

Jyotika glared sideways at the insolent dog, her odd eyes narrowing to mere slits "You're supposed to run now before I shred you in to meaty peices!" She snaps turning and lashing out with her large sharp claws. "move it mutt, before I loose my temper all the more with you!"

Her claws caught the side of his muzzle, he growled now, he knew that there had been no way he was going to be able to walk away from this unscathed, but the muzzle!

"Your the one attacking someone on free land you crazed beast!" he snapped back, his fanged bared.

The black and white and a bit flamey lioness rolled her eyes "you're the oe hunting so near our lands you silly little doggy! get gone with you and don't return to our lands again!" She grumbles her tail whipping about and her odd eyes fixed angrilly on the dog before her. Did she have to kill this silly thing to get rid of it? Really why didn't it just get lost, she was starting to get very bored of this conversation though the thought of playing with a maned wolf skull brought her some joy.

He didnt say anything instead he lunged at her tail, jaws snapping to take a nasty bite at her tail before he hopefully swirved out of any danger this bold move would bring him.

The lioness watched as he bit her tail and her roar of anger filled the air, dashing after him now she snaps her jaws "You want to be my new helmet you foolish mutt?" She hisses, her eyes dangerous and misting over with a bloody rage of a maddness.

He stopped, giving her a glare dripping with hatred. "Your father is the old fool who beat me. And your mother is the dark spotted one, with the red eyes." He lifted his head, still glaring. "And there's more ways to fight than with tooth and claw."

He laughed now, he'd managed to get in a bite!

"Your off your rocker!" he laughed with a shake of his head, wincing a bit as the pain of her claws still present in his muzzle, he snorted.

"I think I've grown tired of your little tantrum child. And I'll be back to my hunting now.."

Jyotika gave a snort and turned away from the wolf, her tail lashing "yeah move on silly beast, consider yourself lucky I didn;t skin you and eat you." She gnashes her fangs and pads back to the border, this had certaily been a meeting not worth documenting, the bite on her tail was a sore reminder she needed to work on guarding her tail end. She was not best pleased that she was walking away to lick her wounds.

He shook his head, and was further reminded that lions were nothing but bloodlustful beasts and he should keep clear of them.

He gave up on continuing his chase for a meal, but now more intent in cleaning his facial wound, he'd not get an infection because of her filthy claws.
