I'm not a complete idiot,
My opinion on this one is kind of divided. I mean, I find the book quite boring at some points, but then again it is the beginning of all of narnia. And you find out a lot about things that come back in other books.
Some parts are missing

i think the magician's nephew isn't really the best book to begin reading the chronicles of narnia with. it's good but kind of boring in several parts... i remember when i opened it i threw it aside very quickly. of course, c. s. lewis has a kind of humor that is just awesome and that helped me when i tried reading it a couple months later. my fifth-grade teacher decided to read it to the class but never finished it cuz no one was interested. the lion, the witch and the wardrobe is probably the most exciting to start with.

I disagree with the both of you. Polly and Digory would be very mysterious characters in 'The Last Battle' if 'The Magicians Nephew' didn't exist. The book sorta explains the beginning of Narnia and how that wardrobe in the second book could take the Pevensies to Narnia. (it's made from the wood of the silver apple tree that Digory planted blaugh ) Because of this book, I've managed to figure out a few things that puzzle and confused me in the other books. 3nodding

The book is a little boring in the start, but I think it turns out very exciting! There's not happening anything extraordinary violent, like a war, but I enjoy the small stories like the one about the silverapple tree, very much!

Well I just finished this book for the forth time and I have to say that I have enjoyed it every time, I got all the book's sepret for christmas and I think its beter that way, but im geting off topic. I like how C.S.Liwes toled the story of how Narnia begain and how Profeser Digory knew about Narnia, but it kind of make's you wonder What if Digory saw Jadis in the other books what would he think? what would he do? well we can only guess but yeah I would have to say that this is one of my top favoret books in the hole searis.

To be completely honest, I'm glad I read The Lion, the With and the Wardrobe and The Horse and his Boy before this one, because if I red it first, I would have been quite discouraged from reading the rest of the series. The book begins quite boring and takes an unnecessary amount of time to build up to the main events, but it is a keystone book if you want to understand how Narnia came about.
