So, yeah.
I'm in eighth grade and I've been playing flute since fifth.
I'm not the best flute player, maybe third, but he wants me to play piccolo.

Any advice?
I tried playing it yesterday, and I ended up coughing. o w o

Omg.. Same with my band teacher D: !
She wants me to play Piccolo or something other than flute = =.
I have really big problems playing brass, and clarinets hurt my teeth ): .

I feel your pain, but I gots no advice since I just started too ):

The rest of the band might have a vengeance for you if you play piccolo... I know I kind of dislike piccolos because they're so loud and high pitched that they can be really annoying! It's up to you though, if you wanna play it go ahead 3nodding

Try it at home for a few days, I've heard it's easier to play once you get used to the higher sound. Or if you don't want to play piccolo and be the only one standing out and playing it, I wouldn't blame you, then tell your band director that you don't want to play piccolo.
