More than 1/2 my fish died! I cleaned my tank a few days ago. I added a few new Kuhli loaches, and African dwarf frogs yesterday. Today everything but my Rasboras and the frogs was dead or dying when I came home. I don't know what went wrong. I was upset and immediately started cleaning to try and salvage critters that were still left. Now I think I should have done a water test first to try and figure it out, and taken a picture or two of the fish to try and figure out what disease I may have introduced with the kuhlis. (damn you petsmart!!!) All the dead fish were covered in white "skin". the Dying fish were already half covered, so it wasn't just decomposition. I lost all my Kuhlis, the older ones, and the new ones I had just added, my Panda Cories, bumblebee gobies and snails. The Rasboras seemed totally unaffected (so far) and by some miracle, the FROGS survived (in my experience they are very delicate.) I did a pretty big water change and put new media in my filter. What do you think happened??? crying

Sounds like a parasite or something like that. I have heard of this wite film covering dead and dying fish, I know it's either a parasite or bacterial disease and it's rather common, I just can't remember what it is. Did you quarantine the new fish for a few weeks before adding them? If not, the newbies probably carried it into your tank. Sorry for your losses!
