The sun was high in the sky over Ista Weyr.
One thing that Denik quickly realized from living in the Weyr was that the waterside was a good place to relax after a long morning. It may be a bit hotter outside, but the breeze from the water was nice.
In this weather, that's exactly what he was doing.
After the light haired teen managed to finish the assorted chores assigned to him after breakfast, Denik quickly went outside. Once he found a suitable spot, he sat down to relax. Finally...some quiet.
As if on cue, his green flit Apid appeared above him, chittering. He grinned a bit as he watched her splash into the water.
The moments didn't come around often, so Denik was making sure to enjoy the semi-quiet that was around him.

"Mmmmmm..." C'mor yawned and rolled his shoulders in an attempt to loosen them up. What a morning. Up at first light to see to his own duties, and the running around trying in his small way to make life better for people. As yet he didn't see his efforts making any real difference on a large scale, but on a small scale at least he was making people happier. What was next on his to do list? Yawing again, C'mor paced across his weyr to the stone table that had been carved out of the wall. Various hides covered it with notes about this and that scribbled on them. Last night he had been in the middle of reorganizing so it was all a bit of a mess; his to-do list was nowhere to be seen. Groaning, the young rider rubbed his face and began sorting through the heap.
"Enough!" Naedreth's mental shout along with a huge rumble made C'mor startle and scatter the hides.
"What? What is it?"
The muscular bronze rumbled again and regarded him with an expression that was half annoyance half concern. "Enough," he repeated, "it is time for you to take a break. You must eat the lunch you got for yourself this morning, and not while you are planning and reading and scheming. Leave the hides here, and go to the lake. I like the lake, Gilden likes it, and you like it. It is too long since we just enjoyed relaxing together Mine."
...It probably was. C'mor glanced over at his hammock where he had sent Gilden earlier when she'd been distracting him. The gold was still there, curled up and looking doleful. It was past time that he made some time for her and Naedreth. "Right," he yawned again and padded over to scoop the flitt up, "you're right. Where did I put that bag?"
Sensing that she was forgiven, Gilden crooned at her owner and squirmed out of his arms to zoom across the room and land on top of the bag.
"Thanks Gild," C'mor said, sending the firelizard a feeling o affection she would understand far better than words, "let's go then." Rubbing his face, he paced across the room to gather up food and flitt before heading out onto the ledge where Naedreth lounged... He'd left the riding straps inside. He really couldn't be bothered to go and get them. "Don't do anything too interesting," he told his lifemate with a grin and a slap to the bronze's neck as he mounted.
"I will not! I would not enjoy having to chase you and catch you before you hit the ground," the young dragon responded as he stepped lightly off the ledge. Finally a break for His. It was hard to make him see he needed one sometimes these days. He couldn't remember the last time they had last relaxed together... but then his memory was only about three days long. Still, he was quite sure it had been a while longer than that.
As the alighted, C'mor swallowed yet another yawn and climbed down. A quick glance around told him that they weren't alone, and he smiled at the young man by the water's edge as he joined him in the grass. "Hi. I'm C'mor, that's Naedreth, and this is Gilden. would you mind if we joined you?"
