It had been a rather long day, the dark wolf was a bit sleepy. Still, he had a job to do. His paws made a path along the edge of what he was remarking as his territory. Soon.. soon he would have his pack up and thriving even better than before.
Especially now that he was keeping his eyes open for pack members, for allies, and anyone that would need to stay with him for a bit. Allies were most important, though, as other Alphas may be threatened by his size, despite his friendly nature. Besides, he ran a pack that was more accepting than most, others tended to look down on him for it.

Twix huffed and shook off after taking a drink, she was far from the pack but Dimitri her fox companion was keeping an ear out for her. She often left the packlands to explore and get a better grasp of the area, it was wise to be aware of ones surroundings. She took pride in being her brothers Beta, even if she technically ranked below his pink soft mate. Still time had passed and Twix grudgingly respected Alas, she had proven useful and it was obvious she made Crunch happy. Still, something inside Twix had become more bitter the happier and larger her family became.
She often caught herself wondering if maybe she shouldnt try and find friends or a family of her own, though such thoughts were quickly snapped away. She didn't need anyone but her blood family, she loved them more then anything! No one could ever replace her pack in her heart...no one. Her ruby eyes snapped then and she frowned at the heavy scent in the air. An alpha marking this land? She slunk closer to see for herself if her nose was being truthful.

When the scent of a new female caught his nose, Haku paused for a moment and moved to stare at the one who was approaching him. His tail straightened, head raising a little but there was a grin on his maw. He was generally friendly, so why not be so with this new female?
"Hello," He nodded his head in a greeting, "What brings you around here?" There was a slight wag of his tail, his head tilting a little as he watched her. She had interesting markings, unlike anything he'd ever seen before. "I don't think I've caught your scent before, you must be from a bit far off?"
He was known to be slightly curious, something that he thought most wolves were at some point in their lives. As a pup he didn't have time to sit and wonder about things, so why not do it as an Alpha of his own territory? Most weren't stupid enough to attack him anyway.

Twix straightened her pose her ruby eyes narrowing on the large male and assessing him carefully. Hmm, yes he could pose a threat, she was fast and furious, but he would be the most likely victor if it came to a confrentation. It was her usual manner to assess others in such a fashion, their pros and cons and the reasons they had for doing things. It was the only way, to be ever vigilante, to keep her family safe.
"Just a little reconnaissance mission, can never know too much or be too careful. Are you moving into these lands then?" Her nose twitched giving her the answer easily, but she wanted verbal confirmation. Maybe it would be friendly of her to warn him about the surrounding packs, though diplomacy wasn't her duty. Granted anything that might make her family safer...that WAS her duty.

"I have owned these lands for a long time, Miss." He nodded his head in a slight, formal bow. "But I am returning to them, forming a new pack and a better family." She had the scent of a family on her, she could probably understand why he thoguht it was important to have such a thing, and even more importantly, why he would remark the territory. His marking of it previously had long faded through his years on his own.
"It is an honour, however, to meet you." He gave a charming grin then and tilted his head a little. "I'm Haku." His head and tail were still held very high, his chest puffed out a bit. All of this meant he was an alpha, showing it without being overly threatening.

Watching the subtle way he moved she understood better, he was an alpha, and he would indeed claim this land. She glanced about and nodded softly trying to commit the area to memory for the future.
"My Brother is the head of our pack, Akiiki Chibale. I should warn you that there are packs not far who are...nefarious, dangerous, keep on your toes and keep the ones you love safe."
It was a cut and dry speech, a passed on warning, there was no offer of friendship or help. Twix didn't consider that her duty, for the pack was not hers, let Alas extend offers of friendship as alpha female.

He kept his grin and did not let it fade despite the fact that the female seemed to be rather distant. There was no need for him to be the least bit insulted, instead he was grateful. Many of the packlands that he had near him as a young Alpha had broken up, new ones taking over lands that had once belong to a very different type of pack.
"I appreciate your warning, Miss." He gave another nod of his head, this time showing he understood. "I will make sure to keep my pack safe the way I need to."

Twix gazed at the male a long moment her ruby eyes assessing, he was still grinning and she found it mildly annoying. Of course she found a lot of things annoying, and she often heard her family refer to her as cold. Maybe she was cold, but it wasn't that she tried to be, she just was...a result of a life spent always vigilant and respectful of rules.
She looked at the male then her tone still hard. "Do I come off as cold?"

The question caught him off guard and he took a moment to think about it. His head tilted a little, trying to find a good way to state what he thought. "Sort of.. but I don't think it's because you aren't a good wolf, you just.. seem a little careful."
He stated that because of her warning, the way she spoke and the fact that being cold was a good way to keep others distant from her. This was all his assuming and thoughts gathering, though.

"I am careful, you have to be careful, not just for yourself you know. I'm not selfish, I just want what's best for my family, I just want them to be happy." Her words were rushed, clipped, she hated that everyone thought her unfeeling. She wasn't unfeeling, she just knew how to hold back the tender emotions that could lower her guard. Above her own happiness was that of her pack, her siblings and their children, her blood.
She frowned softly at the male before her wondering if she ought to introduce herself, he had given her his name after all. Haku, it was short, simple, she liked it... She tried not to sound grudging. "I'm Twix..."
