NAME OF LOCATION - Uller Penthe
DESCRIPTION -
Uller Penthe is an L-Class Glaciated Planet orbiting a Binary Star. The planet got its name from the Klingon Penal Colony of "Rura Penthe" which was just as frigid and unbearable as this desolate place.
LOCATION - Uller Penthe is located in Sector L-13.
PEOPLE -
There are no native people on this planet, its far too cold to sustain complicated lifeforms, however single celled organisms and very hardy plants have been found in select areas.
CLIMATE -
Quite simply, Uller Penthe is cold. By far it is the single coldest planet discovered in the territory of the Beta Quadrant Exploration Initiative. The poles are so cold that some atmospheric gasses actually drop down to a liquid state in the dead of winter. However, the equatorial region is warm enough to sustain a colony and sometimes gets a few degrees above the freezing point.
RESOURCES -
The ice on the planet is so tough and the temperatures are so cold that it prevents the formation of most types of resource materials. However, despite the harsh environment, caves full of Gallicite have been detected in some areas on the planet.
ASTRONOMICAL DATA -
The Binary Star creates a strong magnetic field around the inner section of the system, so much so that it disrupts starship shields and scans. (Scans take 2 positive results to return useful data, and shields take twice as much damage.)
