This was Not Cool.
D'an had been swept up by his audience with a pretty blue-eyed girl and he just knew this was all her fault. Her younger sister was hungry, so what did he do? Volunteered to go get her something! Because he was a nice guy like that! And where did being such a charitable soul get him? Stuck in a sharding closet! (If there was one place in the world D'an did not ever belong it was in a closet!)
A bottle on the ground, disturbed by D'an's foot, fell on it's side and rolled across the floor, leaving the dozen left standing behind. A closet this big and no alcohol nearly made his blood boil. Blood that should have been intoxicating him, but nooo.
Sharding shards... shards!
Whenever he got out, that chick better put out.
Reputation had no weight here. Being the mastermind that he was, D'an already had an idea. The next person who came in was his ticket to freedom. The evidence (aka the broken handle) had been shoved in a crate of such healthy fruit no one would ever find it. He'd play it cool and just walk out. No one would ever know.
Nothing left to do but just kick his feet up, close his eyes and take it easy.
The door opened. Time to put on a show! My, my, he felt clever.
--Until the door closed.
Wonderful. Now there was some candidate in here sucking up all his oxygen. "The door is broken."

Rian had been sent out from kitchen duty to pick up some of said carts. Closing doors behind her was merely a habit. It had somewhat to do with the fact she normally was trailing a boyfriend, and somewhat to do with the fact that there was always a Rising Sun or a Sandstorm person to avoid. Closed doors were excellent escape means, and only the largest assholes went opening them.
"I'm sorry, what?" she asked, disbelief marring her features as she stared down the direction of the voice. To be quite truthful, it would be very hard to get things in the dark. Why had she closed it in the first place.
"I'm not falling for that one, wise guy. Did you try the handle?" Honestly, how weak minded did these people think she was? Their tricks got more dull every day.
As if to prove her point, she reached behind her and grasped the handle and turned. Only, there was no handle to grasp, and Rian wheeled on the door with shock.
Groping around in the dark, she determined that there really was no handle, and the door really was broken!
"Shards! What the <********>!" So much for self control - Rian slammed her shoulder into the door to no avail.
Turning back on the sound that had spoken earlier, she immediately went to the accusation level, "What did you do!?" What kind of idiot got themselves stuck in a closet and then didn't warn anyone else that it was broken? Slimy bastards, that's who!
In his defense, she had been just as dumb closing doors behind her out of habit. But this wasn't about her. This was about how he'd gotten her stuck in a closet and he hadn't even moved anything but his lips!

"The handle was gone when I came in." D'an decided to investigate this female voice further before he said anything else. The results of his hand-on testing would determine his next course of action. For science, he reached out and groped something. An arm, maybe? Probably... Maybe. In any case, it was enough to tell him all he needed to know.
D'an was officially stuck in the closet with a chubster.
A lucky one at that. Blondie had gotten him prepped and ready before this mess began. He had the time and the energy, so why not do the girl he was stuck with a favor? She sounded old enough and he was a great guy.
"Anyway, let's make out? You can't brag about it once we're freed, but I won't be a slacker during."

Rian ground her teeth together at his excuse. "Good job shouting a warning," she snipped. Huffing in disdain, she let herself fall against the door and lean there as she stared off into the dark in the direction of his voice. If she stared hard enough, maybe he would magically fix the issue. That, or she could break one of his bones and use the fractured end to pick into the handle on the other side.
With all the black in the room, it was impossible to see anything that her closet companion did. He wasn't smelly enough that she noticed his hand coming until it had grasped her arm. Yes, he'd actually found her arm.
"What in Faranth's name do you think you're doing?" She had half a mind to leap onto him and beat his nose bloody, but it might have taken two brains - or one and a half - to get the door open again, so she bit her tongue to keep her fists from clenching.
His comment almost made her lose it. She found a round fruit in one of the crates and tossed it (not gently) in the general direction of his head (or what she thought was his head; she'd never tried to aim with a blindfold on, and she had nothing but sound to go off of). "Practice seducing that, you douche. It has your level of charm and tact."

Almost lost it? D'an would hardly call having a fruit hurled at his head 'almost'! By some grace, the produce struck him in the shoulder. A slight discomfort. That was all. As if someone this manly would weep in the face of a fruit assault.
Shards, it really hurt though. Owowow.
Since it was dark, D'an felt no shame in rubbing the wounded area. It had been a popular game in his youth to punch each other in the arms then make accusations of homosexuality if they dared to nurse the damage.
Ah, the good old days. Back when boys were boys and chubster girls knew their place. Curiously, he picked the fruit up and bit into it. Whatever it was...
"It has your level of taste, too, and it's very poor," D'an said curtly. Yeah. Take that. Ungrateful broad. But he wouldn't throw it back at her. He was better than that. Better than her. "I figured you were a candidate. Only your lot has such big mouths. You with Theron's cronies?"

Rian scowled in his general direction and tried the door again. There was a loud bang as her shoulder connected with it, but the door seemed quite content with where it was.
Clearly, Rian needed to transfer to Ista and take lessons from K'em. Her door-killing skills were poor at ********!" she snarled and gave it another kick. "I'm stuck in this retched black, citrus-smelling dump with a horny b*****d." The last lines were hissed under her breath, and she eventually gave up on her desperate, but fruitful, attempts to leave. The pun, she admitted with another scowl, was entirely unintended and not the least bit funny.
Another loud sound echoed and Rian found herself having tripped over D'an as she found the corner of the closet and more fruit crates. She settled there, picking up one to chew on herself. He was right. It was poor, but it was better to chew on than anything else.
"Tch," she said as she spit out some of the nasty, acidic taste before going for another bite. "Theron's got nothing better to do than wrap an orange bandana around his d**k to make it look bigger. As if I'd follow a high-assed lop like him 'round." She swallowed what she'd been eating. "If I'm a candidate, what's that make you?"

Oh, so now she wanted to throw herself at him? No, sir. No way. In D'an's mind, Rian had not 'tripped' over him, nor had she gotten herself together and moved. In his mind, she had slunk away to the corner woefully, rejected. That would teach her not to act so high and mighty about charity, now wouldn't it?
"That would make me a rider," D'an said. No wonder she wasn't with Theron. If nothing else, the guy didn't take followers that couldn't put two and two together. "Whose d**k are you following then? Fanny's?"

Lovely.
"Really?" she asked, ignoring the comment on Fanigan for the time being. He could pay for that when they got out of the closet and she had a nice view. Then she could grab his scrawny neck and swing him one. Though, him being a rider posed some potential problem.
Screw problems. Consequences could be dealt with after.
"What'd you Impress?" Probably a bronze with the way he was strutting his stuff around like it was something important.

Contrary to popular belief, Fanigan didn't go looking for trouble. It wasn't like he wore a neon sign that said "hit me with your best shot, I like it rough" or anything (and he certainly didn't have one that said "slap my a**" either, no matter what Ghuy insisted, but that was another story entirely). He'd only narrowly escaped a violent confrontation with a couple of girls from Rising Sun, who were insistent that he'd done them some kind of wrong. Something about switching their clothes so that one thought she'd gained a ton of weight and the other thought she had lost weight. How could they accuse him of such a simple, lowly trick like that?
Anyways, he had better things to do than pick fights with Rising Sun, and he had very smoothly wormed his way out of that one. Warriors may go down with honour, but at least cowards lived to see another day. He'd been traversing one of the lesser-used corridors in the hopes of avoiding any further scuffles when voices caught his attention. Normally he tried to avoid dark corners and voices because often times you ended up walking straight into a trap, but he was sure he recognized one of the voices. The Flying Wherries leader drew closer to what appeared to be some kind of closet, and pressed his ear up against it cautiously. Was that... Rian? Really?
"Rian! What are you doing in a closet, sweetheart?"
