I open my heart to say what's inside and close my mind because in here I can hide. My laughter is fading, what did you do? My heart is breaking because of you. I found your love so long ago, but who was to know it wouldn't be so.
You hurt me, you lied and went behind my back. The pain that you brought took my life off the tracks. Now I sit here waiting and wondering why. It wasn't too much to believe I could fly. So now I'm falling and tumbling fast. This moment of happiness could never last. I let you hurt me for so long that now it seems that the feelings I felt were all just a dream.
But now I am stronger and I soar free and high. The way that your hurt me made me want to die. I cant control the things that you do. The only thing that saved me was leaving you...

I wrote this poem for all those women out there who have been treated badly by their significant others. i was in an abusive relationship for three years. He didn't just treat me bad, he would beat me and make me pleasure him every night, whether i wanted to or not. I'm not trying to get pity from anyone to gain votes for my poem. I'm saying this on the off chance that maybe someone who felt the way i did will read my poem and think "OMG!, That's how i feel", and realize that there is something soo much better in life than to be treated like a piece of meat.
Ladies out there who think that the way they are being treated is the best they can get need someone to show them that its not true. so here are some words of hope. I was abused and I left him, Now I'm with a man who loves me the way i deserve to be loved I'm never afraid anymore and i can hold my head up high for the first time in a long time.
You can do the same forget your things and just leave him. don't take his crap anymore. find someone who can help get you away from there. and if you have kids that's all the more reason to get out.
