This is a rare breed, due in part to its unusual tendency to attack other dragons of the same species. Once again it is black in colour, and closely resembles the Hungarian Horntail except for the black ridges it has on its back. It feeds off both land and water mammals, which is unusual for a dragon
Norbert, the dragon that Hagrid hatched with the intention of adopting as a pet, was a Norwegian Ridgeback.
