The stores have begun preparations for Halloween, and that means candy. Not just the big bags of fun size candy bars, but also seasonal ones meant to scare and gross everybody out.
This year I've found a few things that I'd only seen in catalogs or candy websites, so I thought we could share the strange and unusual candy we've seen, either this year or for previous Halloweens. Actually, while we're at it go ahead and talk about your favorite seasonal treat too(not limited to Halloween).
At Walmart I saw some life size gummy eyeballs and cut up feet(I think they were maybe size 6 or 7, not too much smaller than my own). My hesitation about these comes not from the gross out factor, but from experience with rubber-tasting gummy novelties. They also had blood packs filled with drink mix: red fruit punch and green monster slime.
Then at Albertsons I found Candy Corn Hershey's Kisses. I read a review saying they taste like buttered popcorn though, but maybe they've improved the recipe this time?
Sometimes Dollar Tree has life size Snake Suckers: hard candy shaped like a snake. These I actually have tried, and they're not bad. They come in a plastic bag so they almost always get broken during shipping, which kind of takes away from the novelty.

Since there's no Halloween in Brazil, it's difficult to see those stuff in there... crying
Here in Japan I think they don't have Halloween either, but, the stores are selling lots of Halloween themed stuff.
If I find anything interesting, I'll post in here. xD

D: I never could stand creepy-gross food, no matter how good they may taste. (Only the really gorey/creepy ones, though. Things like blood packs and gummy worms I'm ok with.)
I absolutely love candy corn flavored candies and peppermints~
I'm craving some peppermint bark right now. D:

We have skull lollies here, as well and GIANT gummi snakes that range from 6 inches to 3 ft! They just came out with them last year, and Toboe and I missed getting them, so this year we're hording them! biggrin
I haven't been to wally world in about 2 weeks, so I have yet to see what they have ninja

I got to check out Walmart again and got a better look at the candy: the gummy feet and hands have crunchy candy bones inside them. I'm still not sure I want to risk buying one though; if it tastes bad that's an awful lot to be stuck with. I did get a blood pack though. Sour, but not too bad: more strawberry than fruit punch. I'm going to keep the bag in case I ever have a vampire cosplay. 3nodding
They also had gourmet candy corn: apple cider, blackberry cobbler(this is the one we got, and it's very good), and I think the other was caramel.

X3 I can't wait for Halloween! <3 I think I'm going to be a kitty.
Anywho. razz Ya, I'm noticing Candy EVERYWHERE. Which is horrible cuz I haven't eaten candy since last Halloween. I swear, its the only time of the year I hoard in all this candy (like tons of it, not kidding) and I eat it. D:<
I can't wait to decorate my house, but I refuse until October starts. LOL

the only thing i look forward to at Halloween is the masses of little chocolate bars that never last long at all in my house because we're all a bunch of chocoholics XD
Halloween-themed candy...i can't recall any in particular. hell, i've never tried candy corn o.o DX but the worst stuff ever is the Popeye candy sticks! i always hated finding those in my treat bag during Halloween. i'm trying hard to think of other stuff, but i just can't come up with anything...
|D it amazes me more when i see Christmas stuff already being sold. like the other day i saw faux Christmas trees being sold in a catalogue.

Mmmm...I haven't been trick-o-treating for years now, but from what I can remember from last year...There were a lot of vampire teeth candies, and bloody lips and just...gummies in general, that's all I remember xD
