Ara had gone off into the woods alone to find some flowers to plant around the tree that she was most wanting. She had ventured off into the deep part of the forest where the best wild flowers grew. She always liked to venture far into the forest, though sometimes she didn’t pay much attention.
Much like today. Where she got too close to the badger territory and her scent caught the nose of a large male badger who liked the taste of cat. He started following her at a distance so his smell and sounds as he moved through the forest wouldn’t catch her ears.
Anbu was with Yuuki training atop a hill, working on Yuuki’s ability to dodge and hit air born attacks with his staff. He was throwing kunai at him and he was supposed to dodge them and knock them out of the way with his staff. So far it was working out pretty well but he was missing a few of them. He was dodging all of them though so Anbu was glad about that. He didn’t like bandaging up his love. He pulled out a few more Kunai and threw them at Yuuki glad to see he dodged one and caught the other two with the end of his staff. “Good Yuuki. Let’s work on some hand to hand now.” He said as he took off his heavy weapons pouch and walked over to him as Yuuki put aside his staff and took his pose. They started their sparing, Anbu telling him how to improve as they moved.
Ara was stopped, picking apart some flowers to put in her growing pouch that she had borrowed from Morph for the seeds. She was humming happily to herself and didn’t hear the sounds of the badger getting closer to her. She stood and turned to head back and the badger was right there, hardly 2 feet from her. Ara screamed as the badger slashed her across the chest sending her flying. She landed with a thud and as quickly as her broken body could get up she got to her feet and saw it coming for her. She turned and used her adrenalin filled body to run into the trees, dripping blood all over as she ran.
Anbu caught Yuuki’s hand as he swung at him and looked to the trees. “Someone’s in trouble. Sounds like a younger cat.” He said as he looked at Yuuki. “Stupid idiots can’t keep themselves from getting in trouble can they?” He asked with a pissed off look on his face as he grabbed all his weapons and looked at Yuuki. “Come with, I’m sure I’ll need your help.” He said as he smiled at him.
Yuuki picked up his staff and nodded. “Were not that far from the badger dens, I hope it’s not them. I don’t want to fight another badger, they smell bad.” He said wrinkling his face as he remembered the foul smell of the wild animals. Together they ran through the forest till they found the smell of the badger and then the sight and smell of blood and fear. Whoever it was chasing was scared out of their mind…her mind. Yuuki saw Anbu’s hands tighten on his katana as he realized it was but a young female who was injured by the Badger. “We need to hurry. With how fast she’s moving she might not make it long.” He said as he took off after Anbu following the blood.
Ara had taken up refuge n a tree, once again reminded of when she was stuck in the ground while the badger tried to get at her Morph…though now the badger was at her, getting closer and closer as she bleed all over the place. She was panting heavily as she held the rags of her skirt to her bleeding chest. She slumped against the trees inside as she watched the badger rip apart the tree trunk to get at her, slowly tearing a larger hole into its side.
Anbu and Yuuki ran over a hill and saw a badger attacking a tree where the blood lead to. “Anbu how are we going to get the girl out of the tree before the badger eats her!” He asked scared for the girl as he looked at his love worried for the girl.
Anbu looked at the badger as it tore at the tree. He gripped the hilt of his blade and growled. He didn’t like going out of his way to save someone all the time but if it save them then he supposed it was worth it. “I’ll take care of the badger. Get in when I distract it and treat her as best you can.” he said as he took out some Kunai.
Yuuki ran off to the side towards the tree as Anbu threw the kunai at the badgers back. They hit and he growled, spinning around to look for who attacked him. “Who dares attack the mighty Broosh as he hunts!” He yelled as he looked around before seeing Anbu. He tilted his blade and smiled evilly, pulling his mask down over his face. “I do. Now die!” he said as he ran at the badger. The Badger swiped at Anbu but he jumped over it and cut his ear off. The badger screamed in pain as it rolled towards Anbu hoping to crush him. Anbu jumped over him and stabbed him in the chest.
Yuuki ran into the tree and saw the bleeding girl on the ground. She was in a dancing outfit and bells. Her hair was in curls, though they where covered in blood with twigs and leaves sticking out all over. She was curled up holding the rags of her skirt to the large bleeding wound on her chest. He wanted to run away from the half naked girl but he forced himself to walk in and help her. “Sweet hart are you still with us?” he asked as he touched her. She was still warm and she jumped a little opening he eyes and seeing another cat standing over her. She was in shock from loss of blood and her fear of badgers and nodded. Yuuki took out some bandages and pressed them to her in place of her skirt. “Stay here I’ll keep an eye on the fight to know when its clear.” he said as he gave her some more bandages if she needed them. He turned to the hole in the tree and watched Anbu.
Anbu jumped off the badger as he flipped over after stabbing him. The badger slashed at him again and Anbu avoided it easily. He jumped up its arm and went to cut at the badgers face but he tossed his head and Anbu missed, rolling off his back. He hissed and glared, throwing a kunai at the badgers face and hitting him in the eye Anbu ran at the front of the badgers chest and cut at his neck, hitting the artery and sending him to the ground. He tried to grab Anbu but he just jumped out of the way as the badger slowly died. Anbu was covered in the spew of blood from killing the badger but didn’t mind. He lifted his mask and walked to the tree. “Is she alright?” he asked looking in to the tree. Yuuki nodded and turned back. “We need to get her to someone quickly though.” he said as Anbu went over and picked her up, Yuuki couldn’t hold a half naked woman in his arms with out passing out. “Where do you live little one?” he asked.
Ara looked up at the silver hair pale male who was holding her, covered in blood that smelled of badger and tried to remember how to talk. “Large willow…by the river in the middle…of the forest. Morph…” she said as she looked at her still bleeding chest and wondered how badly Morph would worry about her now.
Anbu looked at her and thought he knew about the tree she talked about. There was one large willow and he thought he had seen someone like this cat and a male moving into it. “Come on Yuuki I think I know where were going. And we must hurry.” he said as he took off towards the tree near the little river hoping that this girl would make it till he got there.

Morph was at home, lying on the platform that was slowly turning in to the dance hall. Staring up into the canopy of leaves overhead, he inhaled, smelling of the wood beneath him and closing his eyes, mulling over the thought in his head. In his one hand he was slowly rubbing a dried leaf, the fragile thing crumbling slowly under his fingers and leaving its smell on his palm and in the air around him.
A gust of wind rustled the leaves above him, bringing the air in from another direction, along with a different set of smells. Like the smell of blood. Morph rolled over on to his stomach and pushed himself up on to his knees. The wind blew around him, and the smell of blood filled his nostrils, making his hair stand up on end. Slowly he got up and moved across a walkway to the main tree, looking around for the source of the smell. He spotted something moving through the trees; Two grown tomcats, one with a mask and carrying…Oh, no… no, no, no, please no! Morph through himself off the walkway and landing in a stumble, sprinting over to the cats who smelled of so much blood. “ARA!” He skidded to a halt, staring at his love; her dress ripped, a few bandages but so much blood… everywhere. “No, no, no, no, no!” He whimpered, his face anguished. “Is she…? What happened? We gotta take her to a healer! Please? We gotta…” He was panicking, all the nightmares he had and had never even dreamed of were before him as Ara lay bleeding in the male’s arms. Don’t die, Ara… please… don’t be dead…No! You can’t be dead! I won’t let you die! “Where is the closest place we would take her?” Morph asked the tom with the mask.

Anbu looked at the horror struck look on the boys face as he looked at the girl who seemed to be named Ara in his arms. He didn't know what to say cause on the way here he had grown a fondness for this girl. She seemed so frightened and weak that he couldn't help but feel bad for her. He looked at Yuuki, giving him a look that told him that he couldn't deal with the sad man at the moment and needed him to tell him about what happened.
Yuuki looked at the poor male and smiled warmly. "We heard something going on and saw blood in the forest and followed it. A badger had attacked dear Ara here and was trying to get at her when we inner feared and Anbu here killed it. The bleeding has mostly stopped now but it still flowing pretty good in places and shes in quite a bit of shock. The only thing we have gotten out of her is your name and where you live. I think she will make it if we can get her to a healer. I don't know any my self though...are you sure you don't know any healers?" he asked as he gently helped Anbu get Ara out of his arms and onto the grass near Morph.
Ara heard Morph getting upset but she was relaxed against Anbu's chest as he held her. He had been so gentle with her the whole way here and had talked to her a little as they went, telling her to hold on and not worry about anything, he would get her home and better. She turned her head a little, even though it hurt her chest. She winced a little and looked at Morph, her face still stricken in fear as she looked at his worried face. "Morph..." she said as she reached out to him while Anbu and Yuuki moved her closer to him.
Yuuki looked at them and then at Anbu, seeing the worry he already had building for the female. He looked back at them and then at the tree. "I think leaving her hear would be best if you can get the healer here...if you know some where you can go to find one. I know theres a territory near by that might have one." He said as he looked at them. "May i go get some blankets from your house to keep her warm and comfy?" he asked standing up and looking at him and Anbu who were sitting around Ara on the ground.

Ishtar sat reading his book a few blocks off from the dance studio, between it and the forest. He knew that Nyx went there often enough, and he had decided if he saw that pompous a** Dracal stalking her again he was going to pummel him. Ish may not have been close to his family, but in his own way he cared, he would let nothing and no one hurt them. Slowly he turned the page of his book before looking up. Something was different in the air now, thick nostalgic metallic like substance clung to his senses, screaming to him, telling him something was hurt nearby. Ishtar had grown keen on these senses, seeing as how much he had to grow accustomed to the disgusting feel on all of his senses.
“It always happens at the most vital part of the story.” He grumbled and stood, brushing out nonexistent wrinkles lazily, well that was before his keen hearing swiveled and caught the slightest hint of hysteria in a familiar tone. Morpheus?
Ishtar strode forward now, quickly and rounding the corner in minutes. He really would have to make his stake out closer to the building, but concealed all the same. Sighing inwardly he found himself staring at his strange brothers back. “Are you going to hide her from me all day?” he whispered harshly, glaring about… he really did hate personal cases with family, they were always the hardest. Ishtar just appearing there, speaking in his light arrogant tone must have scared the s**t out of Morph, but he could care less… not when there’s someone’s life on the line. And in his business, that was almost always.

Morph moved closer to Ara, taking her outstretched hand in his. “My brother’s a healer, but I don’t exactly know where the territory is. He’s an Anbu.” Morph said in a quiet pained voice, looking up at the cat with the mask. “Do you know where they would be?” He asked, and then turned to the other cat. “Yes, there are some blankets in the hollow at the top of the willow tree.”
The next thing that happened took Morph completely by surprise; Ishtar was there and he was talking to Morph, apparently referring to Ara. Morph was amazed; I had no idea where Ishtar had come from, or even how he had found them, or even how he had known what had happened. But all of that didn’t matter. All that mattered was that Ishtar was here and that he could help. “She only just got here Ishtar, I was about to go find you.” Seeing Ishtar’s glare, Morph moved out of the way quickly so that Ara was now fully in Ishtar’s line of sight. “Will you heal her, brother?” Morph asked quietly, looking pleadingly at Ishtar.

Pale broken wings, you're just a little tired
Yuuki ran up to the tree and gathered a few blankets for Ara. When he got back the other male who looked almost similar to Morph and smelled like him was there. He walked around and gently pushed Anbu out of the way as he tucked the blankets in around her. "A badger attacked her. Anbu here killed it already and she told us this is where she lives and we got here as fast as we can. The bleedings almost stopped but the wound is very deep." he said as he pulled back the wrap he had pressed to her and showed him the three long gashes on her chest that stretched from her left shoulder to the middle of her chest. Her shirt was only slightly torn showing a little more cleavage then she liked to show. Yuuki was much too worried about the poor girl to be scared of her breasts.
Anbu watched them all fighting the urge to tell them their doing nothing but talking and need to get to work when he looked up at the male who appeared. He didn't like that he now had to deal with someone from anbu now when he had spent so much time trying to keep away from them after he had won his life fighting his way out. He looked at the young cat and waited for him to get to work on her, hoping that it would all be ok.
Ara looked at Morph as she felt her self starting to black out. "M...or...ph..." she said as she shivered in her blankets and looked at him as her vision went black and she passed out as she saw that Ishtar was there and she knew she would be ok...as long as she wasn't too far gone already.

Ishtar glared at the man in the mask, not liking the look he was getting from him. “Either respect me or you can leave now. I don’t need any more negative emotions then what already plague the area. I appreciate your concern, but only an idiot can hope for the best and assume the worst. Just so you know ahead of time, threats mean nothing to me.” Ish had never been able to leave a damsel in distress and his brother must have known that, but acknowledging the state of stress he was in Ishtar preferred not to address how idiotic the question was. A healer must never deny healing to anyone who truly needs it that is unless they truly deserve it by sacrificing another or harming the healer.
“It is not so bad, if anything I would be worried simply of the blood loss.” Ishtar knelt in the leaves and gently brushed the hair from her face, checking for internal damage though his strange ability. There was trauma; maybe she hit her head but not much else, which made the teen sigh in relief, external wounds were far easier than internal. He pulled back the blanket the one called anbu had put over her and took off all of the bandages, probing the wounds. "You with the mask please distract my brother… this will only distress him and keep me from my job.” Ishtar pulled out a needle and thread, and a bottle of antiseptic from seemingly nowhere. “And you with the lovely hair, please keep her shoulders up, I need to keep her elevated.” Ishtar undid her shirt and stared at her breasts and wounds with little to no feeling. After seeing Valiant give birth, he had no apprehensions. The cuts went diagonal across her breasts and stomach… He laid his hands over her, breathing inward and outward before a faint glow illuminated his aura… a lovely rose, the color of healing for him. He healed all internal damage, but left enough of his energy to stitch her up and rub the antiseptic on the wound. Ara would have a very nasty scar, and sleep for a good while, but other than that she would be fine.

Morph moved away without question, so very glad that things were progressing so very quickly. He moved to behind a tree a few yards away and slumped down against the trunk, falling into himself and trying to ignore everything, praying and giving thanks to whatever had sent Ishtar to them. He slumped over, curling into a quiet ball, the high of such terrible emotions leaving him drained. He waited there on the ground, waiting for Ishtar or someone to wake him and tell him if Ara was going to be ok. He shuddered slightly, his ears flat against his skull, lost in horrible thoughts, unable to hold on to the hope that Ishtar was here and was healing her.

Anbu looked at Ishtar and tried not to cause a fight. He stood and walked over to Morph and pulled him up. "Getting this upset will not help her. Come lets get her some flowers. What are her favorites?" He asked him as he held him, mostly supporting the now limp and freaked out tom. He looked over as Yuuki held up Aras shoulder by sliding his lap under them, resting her on his knees and keeping her curls piled around the top of her head. Yuuki was always better at helping others with emergency things. Though Yuuki was helping and didn't mind that he had a half naked woman in his lap he was still red in the face and looking somewhere else trying hard not to think about it. Anbu looked around for some flowers as he looked at Morph. "Which way?" he asked shortly.
Ara started to feel warmth in her body and her hearing came back as he brain started to work. She heard Anbu talking to Morph and felt Yuuki's hands on her head, brushing her forhead comfortingly as he ran his other hand through her curls to keep them from tangling more as he picked out leaves and sticks that had gotten stuck. She felt better as the warmth spread all over her cold body and her shivers stopped.

Ishtar grunted and covered her back up with a blanket. “Thank you.” He mumbled to Yuki while the edges of his vision turned a bit grey… one can only do so much before it turns into too much. He sighed and leaned against the tree, sweat beads forcing themselves onto his forehead.
“Can you make sure that this keeps the wound clean?” he whispered and meekly offered the tube of ointment to the other male next to him. Quietly he closed his eyes and breathed calmly. Morph could no longer say that Ishtar did nothing, he always was doing something and that in itself was a miracle.
So tired... oh so tired... he ended up drifting with his head on Yuki's shoulder.

Morph got up, not resisting the scarred cat. “Lilies.” He murmured quietly, moving off to where he knew they would be found, leaving behind Ara and Ishtar in gods only knew what state. He moved along almost mechanically, the fingers of his right hand rubbing against each other in anxiety. Often times when he was stressed, he would rub the pouch around his neck and breathe in the aromas, calming him slightly. Given that Ara had the pouch currently, his fingers moved uselessly in circles. Reaching the spot where the flowers grew, Morph sat down with a sigh, staring at them for a few moments. What would he find when he came back? Could he stand to look? He picked the flowers slowly, arranging them absentmindedly. Then he got up and turned to the other tom. “Shall we?” He asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper, think with worry. Moving back to the clearing, Morph paused behind a tree, listening to the silence. Then he took a deep breath and rounded the trunk.
His green eyes looked from Ara, resting quietly, hear head in the other male’s lap, to Ishtar looking quite exhausted, leaning on the tom’s shoulder. Quiet relief broke over him and immense affection coupled with guilt filled him as he looked over at his younger brother who at the moment looked so much older and more worn than he. Walking quietly over to them, Morph knelt down, placing the lilies on Ara’s chest and putting her hand on them, then leaning down to kiss her cheek. Then he got up, smiling gratefully at Ishtar, and then he moved over to the blankets that the tom had brought down and draped it gently over Ishtar’s shoulders, coving him in the blanket. Then he sat down quietly in front of Ishtar, waiting for his brother to wake.

Anbu followed Morph to the lilies he went to and smiled at them. They were red and orange. Fiery looking and bold. Like Ara looked like she should be. He picked one and tucked it into the front of his padded vest. He looked at the male and followed him as he walked back. He saw that they were done with the girl and he watched her give her the flowers and kiss her face. He walked over to Yuuki and rested his hand on his head. "Is she well?" He asked looking at him as he looked at the passed out Ishtar. Yuuki rested his head against Anbus leg and nodded. "Shes warmer now. And its mostly healed. Some stitches it looks like and she'll be fine." he said as he smiled over at Morph before looking up at Anbu. "Would you mind going hunting for every one, especially Ishtar and Ara, so they can have some energy back in them." He said with a smile. Anbu nodded and looked at Ara feeling...a fatherly love for this lovely young woman he had saved and then turned and took off into the woods to hunt for them all.
Ara felt Morph come back and smelled his sadness as he rested flowers on her chest and placed her hand over them. They smelled like lilies. She wanted to smile but her body didn't want to respond. She tried to open her eyes but was too weak still. With a sigh she gave in and fell asleep again, a much better sleep then before. She was looking forward to getting back into her comfy bed up in the tree when she could though.

Morph listened to the two toms talking to each other, but wasn’t really paying attention. Relief was still pouring over him in waves, and he wanted more than anything to thank Ishtar; thank him so very much for saving Ara, for saving the person that mattered so very much to him, to thank Ishtar till he had no words left. He smiled softly at his sleeping brother and his eyes drifted over to the bespectacled tom in whose lap Ara rested. “Thank you both for saving her and bringing her home.” Morph bowed low to them both and smiled gratefully. Then he looked down at Ara who was resting peacefully. Brushing his hand over her cheek he slipped his hand around hers, squeezing it gently. “I don’t know what I’d do without her.” He murmured, gazing at her sleeping face. Looking up again at the two cats, he smiled again, his relief still showing on his face. “My name is Morpheus, though I’m sure Ara mentioned that if she asked you to come here. And thank you again, so very much.” He added, bowing again.

Yuuki smiled at Morph as he kept his cool fingers on Ara's head. "She said that she lived in the willow near the tree. And then she just said Morph and passed out." He said as he looked at Ara. "Is she a dancer? Shes got the body for it if she isn't." he said as he tried to get her curls nice. "Would you mind taking her rag to the river and getting it wet so we can start cleaning the blood off her?" he asked as he started to arrange her top better so that he felt a little more comfortable. Having a half naked woman in his lap was a little unnerving, mostly cause he was always kinda scared of women. But Ara was...She seemed special and Yuuki had always wanted kids and she just seemed good. He looked at Morph and handed him the ripped part of her skirt that she had used to try to stop the bleeding when he had gotten to her.

Ishtar breathed in and out calmly, he was in the place where he usually meditated and thought of the most important things in life. His mind drifted to his Marrie, to his chosen who had said she wanted him to try to be nice. He had done it for her, knowing damn well if the situations were reversed, and he had no healing ability, that he would have gone to hell and back to save her. Ishtar thought of his ability and for possibly the first time he questioned where it came from, neither of his parents had anything similar, and nor did his siblings, and yet here he was. Could it have been his will that made him so? Somewhere along the way he had lost the reason as to why he wanted to heal, and now he found it again, to help people like his brother that needed it.
Sometime in his mental reverie Ishtar had straightened, his own body going into self-repair mode during his meditation. It was odd, him being so young and the most accomplished healer in the entire town. His ears flicked to the side slightly at the mention of blood, but he had done all he could in that moment. She would have a pretty scar, but little else to worry about.
