It was a small territory that Anansi guarded alongside her sister. Really only large enough for their den and some room to stretch, but it was theirs. It hadn't always been like this. Once upon a time they'd been a part of a larger pack. Their mother had held a lofty position, a peace keeper in her own way.
Then she'd died. Shortly there after a new pack leader wrestled power away from the one their mother had served under. After that... well... Life just wasn't fair. Was it.
She sighed and looked across the Savannah. One day... One day they could start fresh with a pack of their own. But, that day wasn't today.
Today was her turn to hunt breakfast.

Midas sighed heavily as well, as though he shared in some of the grief of the female jackal. But his was of a different source. He was a little bored. Rogue life had only so many options. Move, eat, move, eat again if you're lucky, move, sleep, wake up. Repeat. Requiring even more skills and favor of fate was to meet a female that would partake in any of the afore mentioned activities, particularly the second to last, if you caught his drift. The jackal shook his head, ears flopping about and files buzzing around. Just like a rogue male, he wasn't the cleanest, but he did his best.
As of the moment, they were probably interested in the dried blood clinging to his paws and muzzle from his last kill yesterday. It hadn't been the best, just a young hare, but it was enough to tide him over... For an hour or two. He licked his chops, the taste of the blood making him only salivate further, and he trotted along faster, hoping to get to a good vantage point, or better yet, a good hunting spot.
He would have missed the scent of another jackal if he'd not just unblocked his nose, but the sensation made him sneeze. Coughing, he pawed at his muzzle before looking around and seeing the source. A black jackal seemed to have just exited her den, and his ears perked forward, but his heart was hesitant. Hopefully, there was no male in there waiting for her return.
Midas hazarded another step towards her, but stopped, unsure of how to proceed. For the time being... He'd just stare at her and see what transpired.

(( I'm not bothered by it or anything but I think you're getting the sisters confused. Anansi is the Yellow/Red/Brown sister. Chobi has the black one. <3 Don't worry about changing it. ))
She stood straight, ears pivoting about as she listened for any noise that might betray a predator, or an intruder. Everything seemed to be quiet so she stretched, digging her paws into the hard dirt and really letting every muscle loosen up. It would be a fine day for a hunt. The wind was blowing softly and in just the right direction for hunting a certain burrow of meerkats she knew of nearby.
Standing up straight she shook the dust off her coat before turning back to face her den. "I'll be back before high sun, sister! Happy hunting!"

Midas watched on, tilting his head as she stretched. The wind blew at the tiny and fluffy tuft atop his skull, and his ears tilted forward to catch the words breezed towards him. Sister? Hmmm. So she wasn't alone. That put him a little bit more on his guard, but Midas was usually a reckless sort. He took a step forward, but then halted, his brown body scarcely blending into the surrounding dried grasses and dirt. Working his chops, he gathered up his courage.
"Would you like some help with that hunting?" He gave her a charming smile, and threw his chest out as to make himself look all the more... Manly and strong.

She glanced over at him, somewhat startled to see a strange jackal so close to her den but somehow not all that surprised. A moment to examine him and then she nodded. A quick glance back down the hole and then she grinned. Speaking quietly she said, "Normally I would be more hesitant but you seem like a strong young man." Attractive too, "I don't see any harm in a bit of company."
((EDIT: I'd love to continue this but I'm moving it to my inactive list for now. If you reply could you please PM me? ))

Strong? The jackal threw out his chest-as if it were possible to make it look any larger than he thought it already was. Of course he was strong! The great and mighty Midas! But oh! He'd have to be careful. He loved the ladies, but he didn't want to come off as chauvinistic. It seemed the ladies always found that a turn off. Another note to self: The ladies do not always like to be known as "the ladies".
Snapping back to reality, he bowed his head towards her and held out a paw, "After you, m'lady. Lead the way!" As she had a den, she was probably more acquainted with the best hunting grounds than he was as he just passed through the territory, for now, he'd just follow her lead.
