Not only a lab, but a forge as well. Hundreds of weapons about the place and even more books, the area with the books in a considerably cooler climate while the air of the forge was damn near visible. Lab tables all over, from front to back. In a small area within the forge near some more...questionable materials would be a cage made of a darker metal containing a red and black...something, something that didn't fit well within the cage. It would appear humanoid, at least what could be seen of it. About a quarter of a mile from the beginning of the "cool area" would be a raging fire, the area which anyone who accessed the lab from the fireplace would pass through. Another quarter mile from that would be the massive iron double-doors that allowed one into the lab normally.

Quote: Faust would appear like a distorted image from the wall, almost seeming to pull a bit of it with him. He'd look to the fire and through it into the lab entrance. "An easy decision I suppose?" He'd shake his head, none too happy he now had to actually do something, regardless of what work she gave him. He'd need to calm the chimera before it could strike, which required finding it before it found her, which was more of a headache then anything else. He'd also need to kick the cage and silence Kain's demented creation before it said anything they'd all regret. "After you...madame." Annette would pause in her step as Faust came through the wall. She wasn't entirely sure how to take his showing up, he didn't look happy at the idea of being here. "Thank you for coming." she said steadily, figuring thanking him would suffice as both greeting, and hopefully not getting off on teh wrong foot with him. She realized earlier that she hadn't actually met this one, though she remembered Incognito talking about him to Feign earlier. She wondered if the woman was still mad at her. She pushed the thought aside as she moved into the area with the books, not being able to help herself from slowing to scan the titles. She made a mental note to come back here to look through them later, she really did have to get started on her work though.
Her gaze swept teh room only to land on the cage, figuring that this was what her Brother warned her to stay away from basically disregard. She caught teh forge and weapons, and then the metal doors. "Where do those lead?" she asked, not actually intending the question to be verbalized.

As she'd begun to look around, Faust had made his way to the cage, or rather the table across from it. He stood straight as possible and moved his left wrist every now and again, his red hues almost showing the joy he was having torturing the creature in the cage by flinging what would seem to be black shards of ice at it. Once she'd vocalized herself he'd wave his hand through the air, causing each of the shards embedded in the creature to disappear, its wounds healing naturally. He'd look to the metal doors and cross his arms. "Those doors would be the exit now, the other entrance mentioned before. Behind them lies the dwellings of a Chimera...though I doubt he'll be out there for long; he's been programmed to make sure no one not programmed into his massive mind leaves this lab."
He'd crook his neck and begin to look around, slowly looking at every little area. "I had warned against using your chosen entrance for this reason; the creature now thinks you're a threat. Given I'm here as well, he'll no doubt presume you to be a threat to me directly, only increasing his primal programming. Though he's a rather large thing, he has a perfect cloaking technique that puts your brother's to shame." He'd look to the creature in the cage and begin to think...which would once again have him tossing the black ice shards at it. Thankfully, the creature had been silenced. "Do as you please; Tedd...the Chimera, that is, is an incredibly intelligent creature. If it sees you mean me no harm and that I am allowing you to peruse through the laboratory of your own whim he may retreat. At the same time, if his sites are set only on you, then he'd no doubt attack. So here's the plan: You'll do as you wish and I'll do as you ask of me. The exact MOMENT you feel him attack, and you would indeed feel it, activate the Hyper Time Dilation. Move yourself to my location and then I would suggest you become intangible. This would cause the beast to rethink the situation completely and I'd be able to subdue it. If it sees you seeking shelter in me and sees me sheltering you, it will listen. Divert from this plan and...well, I'll never hear the end of how I got my aunt killed. I say killed specifically because the creature aims to kill with one precise bite to the neck meant to remove the head and eat it before burning the body. All very quick, thus I must stress how important it is you do as I've requested the moment you feel him. This said: How may I be of service to you?"

She had to admit, she wasn't too keen on the idea of something trying to take her head off. She'd step toward the books and look them over, slipping one out on alchemy. "I get the feeling dealing with the chimera will be unavoidable, so once thats done, I'm going to need help getting the materials to build Feign a working eye." She said, leafing through the book. She was still trying to figure out whether she'd have to use an eye from a corpse or if she should take a different approach. "I'm going to have to make up a bit more of teh healing agent for that to work though, and that's what will take the most time."

"An eye for an idiot...a kind endeavor, but he's hardly deserving. But I am in no position to say such things. Know that we've attempted this feat and failed countless times, though we never tried making one from scratch. A corpse will not do you much good...one of those books will contain the formulas to the human body; the exact ingredients found in one as a whole, and each of its pieces. I would suggest using the recipe for an eye...adjust it to allow it to form to Feign and then tweak it as you see fit from there." He'd turn away from the creature and move to the cooler area, a bit closer to her. He'd remove a book bound in black leather, no title and each of the words written in blood, the words themselves hard to read. At least for most; the book would float before him and the pages turn quickly as he read through it with his arms fold beneath his cape. It was about this time the creature would dart down silently from the roof with its massive mouth wide open, aiming to remove yet another head from yet another victim.

"Last time I tried to create something using alchemy, the results were a bit skewed. I have to say, creating a living doll using vampire blood was fruitful, yet had a shelf life so to speak. Come to think of it, that was a long time ago..." she turned the page and read a bit more, though she'd pick up the change in the air above her in time to activate the field and move. She'd be standing to Fausts side by then, book still in hand, though her appearance, as well as the books would be somewhats holographic. She'd close teh book slowly and look to where the beast would of landed. "Must say, I wasn't expecting it to be on the ceiling."

"It's the best spot to strike from when one's aiming for the head, isn't it Tedd?" He'd smile beneath the mask as the book floated off to the side, landing lightly on the counter. "Stand down big boy. She's Kain's sister; they share the same blood. She's as much a threat to any of us as we are, really. She's family. So be nice, yes?" The beast's form would come into view, something like an alien from the movie "Aliens" if it were three times larger and a bit more...hulking; everything on it far more broad. And the fact that Tedd was blessed with eyes that flashed depending upon the spectrum of vision he was using. For now they remained blue, symbolizing nothing out of the norm. Its mouth was more like that of a bear's, though the teeth were far far sharper. Its back legs had only three avian-like claws with massive talons while its front pair, its hands actually, had the full four digits plus the thumb. It merely preferred to be on all fours. Its long-a** bladed tail would lower from the threatening stance of a scorpion and the creature would let out a bellowing roar like no creature that lived today, but rather something prehistoric. Once it came to Faust to examine him it was obvious the creature was large given Faust at his height of 6'2'' only came up to the creature's eyes.
It would look to Annette and its eyes would flash wildly with in different colors before setting back on blue. Though the creature couldn't, or rather didn't bother with speech, it could communicate with great ease via telepathy that shamed Kain's, as well as the ability to see so far as to look into the soul. It would issue her a slight huff, then begin to make its way back to the iron doors leaving massive indents wherever its feet landed. It would stop short to mock the creature in the cage, roaring once again at it though the cage would ice over this time, the creature impaled in several placed with ice pillars. Faust couldn't help but snicker, then wave the beast off at which point it would growl at Faust and curl up across from the taboo creature's cage, as if to say, "Piss off, I do as I please." Again Faust would laugh and his book would float back in front of him.
"Well, that's Tedd. He's sweet, though he doesn't take kindly to taking orders. His mind can process far more than a human mind; he constantly reads our minds and feelings and in the same moment determines the best course of action given the circumstances. Apparently he's perfectly happy with how things are...though he'd of left unless he felt there was a threat. Or he may just wan to torment that...thing. I don't know; trying to read Tedd's mind is like trying to read trillions of minds all at once. Pointless. As you were saying, though...no need for alchemy, less you wish to use that route, which is the shortest one. If you cannot perform it, I can...I am here to help; I must reinstate this."

Annette would take in the Beast...Tedd's features. She'd never seen a creature like him before, so to her he really was something to marvel at. She'd be a slight bit taken aback as he'd come up to her and huff after a moment. Where Fuast came up to Tedd's eyes, she only came up to just below his chin it seemed.
As Tedd walked off toward the cage, she'd watch as teh cage iced over only to be impaled later. She'd make a mental note to ask about the contents of the cage when she was no longer busy. She was sort of put at ease as Tedd laid down next to it, hopefully that meant not having to worry about while she worked. As Faust laughed and explained a bit more she'd nod. "I have no intention in ordering Tedd to do anything short of don't eat me." she joked. "As far as Alchemy goes though, I'll simply need help in finding the ingredients for teh eye, the actual alchemy in itself i can perform." she'd of flipped back through teh book she'd had earlier to teh correct page and was memorizing teh ingredients before something occurred to her. "Faust, if I haven't said it yet, I'd like to thank you for your help. I am very grateful for it."

"You're most welcome, though I've no idea what I've done to be thanked for, at least pertaining to the objective at hand." He'd look to her through the holes in his split-color mask, his eyes not really giving any emotion away. It didn't help that even though he looked tired, he never blinked. He also had a habit of shifting his eyes in a direction rather than actually looking at something as well, thus the reason why his head wouldn't turn as he spoke to her over his book on...questionable material. They'd then shift towards the creature in the cage who seemed to be getting a bit riled, though he'd laugh once again when Tedd would swipe the cage and the creature, knocking it over and silencing it before proceeding with another roar of ice. "Pardon for the intrusion, but I have a terrible habit of going where I'm not welcomed...like into the minds of others. You're curious about the genetic failure in that cage, correct?"

After memorizing the list she'd close the book again and set aside on a nearby table in case it was needed later. "I thank you, because I"m aware that helping me may not be on the top of your list of things you'd like to be doing." she explained. As he apologized to her and asked about her thought, she'd simply nod, not really caring he'd been in her head. She had nothing to hide really. She'd made her intentions clear, and she wasn't one to keep secrets. She'd look about for a calcinator and a setup so she could start making the extract. "I was curious yes. Kain only told me to stay away from it."

"Hm. I don't think I should have read your mind; anyone that sees the cage has their curiosity perked. Again, my apologies." The entire time he spoke to her, he also read the strange print on his strange book. "Kain, in his strive for power, gained a mentor named Tempest. This individual was without a doubt the most powerful individual Kain had, and has met since. Kain was taken under Tempest's wing and shown power beyond his imagination, and granted even more. Realizing that Tempest was far more sadistic than even Kain, Kain put his life on the line for the first time for the sake of others. He challenged Tempest, and with the aide of an old mortal mentor, Tempest was defeated and banished. Kain, being the twisted individual he still is, then struck down his old mentor and took the glory for himself. Alas, matter cannot be destroyed, only reconfigured. Thus the matter left behind by Tempest was taken control of and given form...that creature is his form. It's by no means Tempest, but it possesses the matter left behind. The creature, though created by Kain, escaped his grasp and fled. He, that is the creature, soon found a girl named Teddy...sister to Tempest. At this time, the girl dubbed the creature, the red and black jester with the mind of an eight-year old and the savage cruelty of the highest demon...Ha'Poultis. The creature served under Teddy and even fought, and defeated Kain's most prideful creation: Tedd. At this point, an elite team that had served Kain in Black Rose known as D.E.L.T.A. helped subdue and procure Teddy and Ha'Poultis in once place. Kain and his partner, Mortuss, who had created Todd, used the team of Tedd and Todd to subdue Ha'Poultis and capture him within that cage, one made by Kain specifically for the creature. The creature thrives on heat; cold will not kill, but rather torture and subdue it. Teddy, of course, was then killed off by Kain. And as a twist that should have been seen coming, Tedd and Todd were told to kill off D.E.L.T.A.. While they escaped, they were severely wounded. Now Ha'Poultis is kept down here in a cage too small for him, keeping him in a constant freezing state. It's fun to throw ice at him, especially when the ice embeds itself in him and spreads through him. Though his body naturally burns it away after a while, he's in Hell until that point. HE has a habit or shrieking like a damned banshee, thus his vocal cords were ripped out and magic was used to silence him. Naturally, Tedd hates Ha'Poultis."
He'd flip through a few pages as he spoke, still continuing on. "The reason you're warned to keep away from him is because the creature imposes upon people a severe empathy; a feeling of guilt that leads them to let him out. Should the jester be freed, he will eat whatever he can, rape whatever he can, kill, slaughter, bathe in blood...and Kain will not be able to stop it without tremendous power given the creature regenerates instantaneously. It expands like rubber, and as an example, it could cover a nuke and allow it to go off. Any lost pieces would automatically reform and the thermal residue would only power him, the radiation adding to the toxins in its body. So we ask you not go near the cage to avoid the feeling of empathy and possibly allowing something of Ragnarok to escape from its cage. It would be terrible manners."

"Terrible manners indeed." Anette had listened as she found what she'd need. She'd look up to the cage, and at Tedd, who seemed quiet content with torturing teh best inside. In truth she was happy it's vocal cords had been ripped out, she could only imagine the annoyance it would be as she worked down here to have the creature scream and shout in pain.
She'd come to sit at a work table near the books, removing her bag from her belt and setting it on the table. "So I guess my next question is this, what happened to Todd?" she asked, pulling a scalpel from her bag, and pulling a crucible closer.

"...Kain never told you?" This time the book would lower, his eyes darting to stare at her. He'd think for a moment, then decide to suffer the consequences of telling her should there be any to suffer. He was hoping, though he felt the odds low, that he was doing his father a favor. "Kain isn't from...this world. After some time, Kain designated that the only worthy opponent in any universe was his own self. Thus he began traveling to different universes and defeating their Kain, taking its power and adding it to his own. He found one he couldn't beat, but only because it was himself nearly one thousand years in the future...with a fleet of ships in space. Odd future, but that one forced Kain to retreat. In doing so he retreated to this world, though he was weak from that fight. So, like a parasite, he chose to convert himself into energy and fuse himself to the body of this world's Kain...Feign Malik I believe. Agent R:17 Gemini. The Gemini portion of the title came from his usual, loyal yet kind self, and the darker, more sadistic side of him...obviously Kain's influence. He dwelled within that body for some time until he was able to absorb Feign into himself and recreate himself, and...well, ta da."
He'd close his book and set it down, the damn thing actually hissing at him at which point Faust would ball his fist and hit it. "But that's Kain's origin; hardly the answer to your question. But think of this: What happens to the worlds when he devours the power of their inhabitants? Simple: He casts them into what he calls the Void, a rift in space where there is no time. Everything within is eternal, left to kill itself off over...and over...and over. A sort of Hell I suppose. Kain's home world was no exception. With Tempest's defeat Kain lost his mind. He rebuilt Black Rose only to have it draw attention so who knew who to attack; who to rip the power from. In the end there was no one left to rip power from, just his nemesis, a woman named Alexia. This he'd worked with her back when he was a brittle little thing...they knew each other. Hated each other. Kain even got the grand idea to attack her and steal her child, raising it as his own. Logan I believe the name was...she became a true prodigy. Sadly, her kind heart got in her way. Eventually she left Kain and joined her mother in a spin-off of D.E.L.T.A. known then as B.R.A.V.O.. At that time Kain finally defeated Alexia who was no more than a mortal woman with cybernetic enhancements. Somehow she'd lived through each of his attacks, though. He hated the fact some mortal could survive when he was able to rid of Tempest and his goons. So, he killed off Logan and first opened the Void, plunging Alexia and the rest of his own world into it to drift in eternal conflict."
He'd shake his head and sigh before moving to her side and upon placing his hand on the counter, several flowers would come into to bloom through the table. "Interesting side fact: I was injected with a bit of Logan's DNA to make sure my thirst for knowledge was never quenched. It's also why I wear this mask." He'd place his hand on it and simply pull it off, revealing a rather feminine face, one expected more of a tomboy than a man. Beauty mark above his lip and everything. Beautiful. "You can imagine how the sight of Logan, who mirrors her mother's image, would upset Kain." He'd offer her a warm smile after speaking in a kind, nearly feminine tone, then place the mask back on. "So to answer your question, Tedd's brother is in the Void."

Annette had to admit, it was a lot to take in. She'd found herself accidentally staring at Faust once he removed his mask. This was caught and fixed as she switched her attention to the flowers once he put the mask back on. "In a way, that all makes a lot of sense. Starting with how, even though Vincent always spoke of Kain, I never once met him till the recent events, and how he has the powers he does, when I don't ever remember people like that existing here. Vincent had a way of knowing those sorts of things, and he often sent Migoto, Narcissa or I out to keep tabs."
She'd move and flick the scalpel over her wrist, a deep gash forming as she let the blood drop into teh crucible cup. The gash would heal soon enough and she'd set the now full crucible cup on a stand, with an open space beneath it. "The scientist part of me wants to know if somehow, by Kain showing p here, if the world he sent into teh void, and the world he dwells in now, if one day they'll just overlap each other. I mean, he's the common thread linking one to the other." She'd rifle through her bag as she spoke. She'd pull out an ornate clip and pull her hair up before clipping it in place. It really was a hassle keeping it down, she contemplated cutting it short one once or twice, before leaving teh clip in and moving back to her bag for somethign else. "We should probably start on that eye."

"...There's no point now." His muscles felt like they were on fire, twitching every now and again. "Think of it...this way: The worlds are like...computer towers. Kain went about...throwing away several of them...after depleting them...of the data he wanted." He'd fall to his knees, his mask falling off and fading away in a black flame. He'd cross his arms over his chest, obviously in pain. "This world...is just another...motherboard...that be failed...to corrupt. And thus...we all...suffer. Kain has been sent back...to his world...forced back into his own tower. He's stuck there...a compressed file...about to be attacked...by so many viruses." The black flames would begin to form over him and he'd laugh. "How fair is it...that we cannot exist...without his existence? Though I do...wonder what will...become of this world's Kain...Feign...if he will be restored...I wish I could live to...see...it..." With that he'd burn away in the flames just as the others in the mansion and the station had.
