Nyarai, or Noel as he called him self, was down by the river banks today cooling off after collecting enough materials to make his mom something special. The day was a scorcher and some of the flowers he had picked were already drying out.
Noel sat in the banks where the water wasn't that deep and just panted. He was to pretty to be THIS hot. Hadn't the weather gotten the memo to not bother such pretty lions? Maybe it had been absent that day.
All Noel knew was that he was hot and just hated sweating. For one, sweat stunk and for two, it messed up fur. So the boy just sat in his little spot and watched as the flowers he had picked pruned up right before him.

If he was hot, then the female as scorching with her black pelt that seemed to just sort of absorb any of the suns rays that seemed to have nothing better to do. Unlike the red cub however, Juno was not bothered by the heat. She had been raised tough, to not be bothered by lifes conditions. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, or at least thats what she would think if she knew what lemons were.
She blinked a bit, watching the cub with a bit of curiosity. He was moaning and groaning about the heat, and she scoffed. She wasnt sure who he was, only that he belonged in the pride that she currently called home with Momma.
She pawed closer, cocking her head to let her little red bangs hang over her eyes. The wing marking on her back matched the red that she carried. But this cub, he obviously belonged here more than she did by the look of his pelt.
"Hello."

Noel hadn't even heard, notice or smelt the female who was no greeting him. Noel nearly jumped out of his pelt at the greeting.
"Wha! " He spashed deeper into the river. Only his head now peeked above the water level standing up, and now his tuff of mane was all messed up from the splashing.
"W-W-w.. Huh?" He blinked at the red black female . Another black lioness? Noel took a few steps closer and peered at this lioness before him.
"Kissy, did you do something new with your fur?"

She watched him with curiosity filled eyes, until he called her Kissy, and her eyes grew dark and angry.
"Im not Kissy.." She pouted, her eyes losing the anger almost instantly in favor for a sad look. She supposed she couldnt blame him. The number of black lionesses out there were slim to none in this pride. But she didn't look like Kissy, did she?
"She's my sister. Im Juno." She stated, plopping on her rear, and flicking her tail back and forth like an agitated cat.
"So who're you anyway?" She asked, watching him with a raised eyebrow.

Noel opened his maw and closed it. The cub tilted his head and just stared. So it was Kissy's sister and not the actual Kissy. For a moment , Noel looked a tad disappointed. That was until he realized the potential new friend. Then his ears lifted a bit.
"I'm your cousin... I think? " Noel tilted his head, "Nyarai, er, you can call me Noel. Thats awesomer." Her padded on over to her and beamed. Such a dark pelt and lacking in color , but at the same time, it had potential.
"So Juno, you want to be my friend?"

"Cousins, huh?" She asked, cocking her head and looking as if she was thinking it over. Okay, so he was family. Good. Cause she wouldnt have any random boy calling her Kissy. She'd for sure kick his butt.
"Well hi, Noel." She replied, her head turning back to normal in favor the the sideways way she had been holding it moments before.
She had not been expecting friends, but she was willing to have them. They would just have to deal with her tomboy-ish ways..
"Sure. That sounds like it has some potential." She replied with a nod, her little head fluff bobbing.

Noel was entranced by the bobbing of the fluff. He mimicked the motion with his own tuff of mane and smiled. Doing it over and over again for a bout five minutes.
Oh right! She wanted to be his friend. Noel grinned a silly grin.
"So you want to be friends?!" He jumped up a little, "Thats great! Lets go pick some flowers and umm.... make accessories ! Oh this is gonna be so much fun~ " He jumped from one side to the other in an overly playful manner.

She looked at him, and raised an eyebrow. He was a feminine guy that was for sure! Only ones who had ever asked him to pick flowers were girls..And she had never really taken 'em up on it.
"Wait, you wanna pick flowers? Can you think of something else? Thats just awkward." She snorted, flicking a tail here and there.
"I know! How about hide and seek!" She said with a nod and a little excited smile.

Noels smile grew, a game, that sounded like fun!
"Alright, lets play hide and seek. " He gave her a charming grin and closed his eyes and started to count. The boy was so used to being told he was it that it just became a bad habit of sorts.
"You better find a good hiding space," He said in between counting. The cubs tail twitched and he continued drawing out each number.

She smiled, happy he was so easy going. It made life easier sometimes. "Okay, so you count, Ill hide."
She replied, jumping off to try to find the good hiding place. She wasnt exactly sure where, because they were in a wide open field after all.. She spied the forest grounds, and smiled, darting off to hide in a bush beside a tree.
The leaves pricked at her, but she just giggled.
"He'll never find me here!" She whispered to herself.

Noel closed his eyes as tight as he could so he couldn't see any light. Slowly he began to count. "Ooooneeee," He drew out each letter carefully as he continued up ward with his counting.
It was long moments before he finally finished, giving his cousin plenty of time to find a hiding place.
"Ready or not here I come!" His eyes shot open. Juno had disappeared to the cubs amazement. Course nothing less from a female he supposed. Slowly he trotted in a random direction, shifting his head this way or that way. Juno seemed to have just vanished because he , for the love of him, could not figure out where she was.
Confused and a little hopeless, the cub rested next to the tree and scratched his head with his paw. The cubs tail lazily laid next to the bush his cousin was hiding in. Noel seemed none the wiser to her where abouts.

She did her best to hold in a giggle. Ah, how naieve some males were.. He hadnt even bothered trying to scent her out. She wondered if males were taught how to do that, if they rarely did much..
She pounced out from the bush, grabbing his tail in one fluid motion in her maw, and wrapped her claws around it, growling a bit as her own tail twitched agitatedly.
She bit at the tail fluff, and looked up at Noel.
"Grrrrrr."

Noel let out a cry, but not from pain as much as shock. His cousin had popped out of no where and now she was playing with his tail. The male took a second to calm down before he smiled at her and swiped an unsheathed claw at her in play.
"H-hey~" He giggled, "Wasn't I supposed to be looking for you Juno?" He continued to playfully swipe at his cousin. "You're good at this game."

"Yeah but you could never find me.. I was hidden far too well." She mused, standing a bit taller than she had before. Females were better, she knew this. So obviously she would be a better hider, and seeker. Maybe this game wasnt as fair as she thought it was.
"Im sorry, I shouldnt have bit you. But that was a fun game!" She smiled brightly.
She looked out at the sky, and noticed that hte sun would be going down. "I better go. Bye Noel!"
