Well i decided I wanted some personalized ornaments of sean for his first xmas...(well not really but since he was only a week old last yr and i was still out of it in bed..its kinda like the first xmas). So I got some White ball ornaments. Im going to get finger paints and let him hold and "paint" a few, and with the others im going to ink his feet and hands and put his prints and the dates on them. Im also doing his personal stocking but i dont see that he can help much with that. I thought some of you might like this idea or have your own. So if you do please share!

With the white ornament balls you can also take his/or family Christmas pictures and paste them on and put a clear coat of paint/sealent over them and have the pictures on them.

I think one of the funest things that my children have done for Christmas decorations is to meet with the extended family and make Gingerbread houses. All of the adults bring lots of candy and the pre-made houses and some royal icing and tips and tubes and the kids eat as much as they decorate with. There is also a new fingerpaint out that works only on the special paper and you can help nursery age children leave finger and foot prints on that paper and cut octagons out and make them into christmas ornaments that you add the year to.

i always had fun making those christmas countdown type projects... like the bell with the paper chain hanging from it... you tear off one loop of the chain each day... or one we did in 1st grade was we make a santa head and there were numbered circles where his beard was supposed to be... one circle for the 25 days before christmas, and then each night we'd glue a cottonball on the circle for that day's date.... so when we finished, santa had a full beard!
