Morpheus had been gone for about a week now and was feeling rather despondent. He had yet to find Hermes, despite his and Belle's separate efforts to find him. Having wandered several areas unfamiliar to him, he had come to the conclusion that he really had no idea where his brother would be. Not that he had much of a plan in the first place, but the lack of results was getting to him. More than that, he missed Aranyani deeply. And on top of that, the prospect of speaking to Ishtar again seemed to be looming on the horizon, bigger every day. He didn't really know why this worried him so, but he had no idea what his little brother thought of him, and he still felt guilty about not being around while Ishtar seemed to have had to deal with the brunt of everything.
Morph sighed, having lain down under the shade of a tree. He stretched out, his head resting on his guitar case and his hands on his stomach, twiddling his fingers aimlessly. He stared a little flatly at his hands, his tail twitching idly.

Finally! Freedom. This sweet, sweet freedom of no longer having to deal with little hands pulling on her tail and ears...grabbing her scruff and knocking her over by squeezing her paws and head. She officially hated human children.
For quite some time now she'd been waiting for one of them to make a mistake...that front door leading to the outside. Day by day she stared at it, waiting and wondering when these idiotic humans wouldn't close it all the way--and today had been the day.
Kaikara had rushed past a forest of human's legs to bolt into the outside world, ever since she'd been abducted as a kitten she'd been planning a way to get out! And finally, finally she was able to smell the fresh air, feel the soft grass, adore the sunlight on her cream colored fur. And the yowls from those stupid humans who thought they could outrun her and catch her...no one would take her freedom away again. Speeding up her pace, she ran full-speed ahead, through some foliage, and into a clearing that looked somewhat familiar. By now, the humans had stopped chasing her, and she was able to slow down a bit. Panting as Kaikara settled into a speedy trot, she looked around with her mix-matched eyes curiously, unable to help but wonder what happened to her family during this long amount of time that she'd been gone.

The rustling of foliage roused Morph from his laconic state. It came from a way off, but at this point, Morph was in favor of any sort of distraction. Picking himself up and slinging his guitar over his shoulder, he made his way through the trees to where he heard the noise. Moving around a tree he saw a flash of sandy fur go trotting by and, frowning a little, Morph adjusted his guitar in its case more snuggly on his back and began trotting after the cat, a nagging memory just out of reach in the very back of his mind. Following the glimpses of color, Morph could make out a light, sandy colored cat with a fairly fluffy tail. His frown deepening, he speed up a little, staring at the back of the cat he was following.

Keeping her pace strong, she continued to trot along so she could get as far away from her previous prison as possible.
However, Kaikara caught the scent of someone close by...another cat, male, and he was...following her. Something about his smell made her brain kick into overdrive, but instead of bolting away as she felt she might need to, Kai swung around and looked up to the one following her.
Her haunches stood on end, fur bristling in warning. There was a nick just above her left ear, blood dribbling down over her brow, around her nose, and clinging to the lightest part of her fur just beneath her chin. She had obviously just been in a fight or somehow managed to hurt herself...even she hadn't quite figured it out, but whatever it was, it stung like hell. "Who's there?" She snipped, looking around frantically, "Why're you following me?"

Morph slowed down and approached the other cat, stopping several paces from the female. Now that she had turned to face him, he recognized her markings and coloration. She looks just like Mom! Looking into her face with a sort of dawning recognition, he noticed one of her eyes was green, like his. “Um… I’m sorry for startling you… you just… you look… familiar.” Morph replied, still staring at her in mild confusion. In the back on his mind, the obvious conclusion was nagging at him, pointing at all the signs and saying, Look! Look at her! She is who you think she is! But it just seemed to unreal after so long to finally find… her, especially when the very reason he was out here was to get in touch with lost siblings. “Do you… uh, I mean…um… Hi. My name is… Morpheus. Are you…uh…” He tilted his head slowly to the side, staring at her; his eyes slowly traveling down to her fluffy tail then back up to her mismatched eyes, the green one so like his own.

Slowly beginning to relax as he stuttered and hunted for his words, she frowned up at him but kept her defensive position. Taking in a slow, calming breath, she cocked her head at him. So familiar--even she sensed it. His scent, his eyes, his personality.
"Kaikara," the name even sounded familiar to her, but she couldn't put her finger--er. Paw on why. Taking a hesitant step back, Kai felt slightly overwhelmed, wanting to run...her heart was racing from finally being free, and now this awkward happening...how...strange.
"What're you staring at? ...is there something wrong?"

Morph heard her name, but it didn’t do anything to help him remember. It sounded like it should be familiar, but all he had to go off of were fuzzy echoes of memory, and nothing came to mind. He saw her step back and he raised his hands a little, not wanting her to go, wishing for her to stay so he could understand. “No, there’s nothing wrong it’s just…” Morph took a step forward. “Look at me; my eyes.” He pointed to his green ones, “They’re like yours,” he pointed to her single green iris. “My fur.” He swished his tail a little. “It’s sort of the same color as yours. You look like my mother. Your markings are the same as hers.” Morph stared at her willing her to understand, for her to confirm what was nagging at him. “I have two sisters. I’ve only ever seen one of them.”

This guy was weird. But still, there was that nagging feeling...she watched him step forward, a slight growl rumbling up from her throat--but she cut off as soon as he started pointing out similarities.
Kai couldn't say she remembered much before she was abducted. She remembered her mom's smell, the taste, the noises...she'd been so young when she was taken everything else was fuzzy. But the warmth of siblings had settled into her thoughts and her expression shifted from scared and weary to...shocked, awe struck.
"Sisters..? So..you're.." How could this happen so quickly? She dropped to a sit, unable to stand anymore, her head slumped down and her tail flicking about behind her. "You're my brother, then..? I have a family?"

Morph’s brow creased; worried that he had put too much on her at once. He looked concernedly at her shocked face, the urgency he felt slowly draining from him. “I think so… We lost… you, I guess, when we all got kidnapped… Only a four of us got back…” Morph sat, eyeing the blood on her ear and face. “Are you hurt? I have some wolfsbain...” He touched the pouch on his chest. “Kaikara, was it?” He asked softly, shifting his guitar case to get the few basic supplies he had with him in order to dilute the wolfsbain in case she accepted his offer.

Kaikara didn't know what to think. They did seem similar...their eyes, fur, markings...their personalities weren't very similar, but that could be because she had been separated from them for so long now...
"I was lost.." She looked to the ground, confused, while she frowned and closed her eyes. The scent of the materials the male was gathering made her sigh, sniffing slightly at the irritation from things she'd never smelled before. The blood on her head dribbled down over her eye, cheek, and curving around her small muzzle.
"Yeah...I am," Kaikara might be stubborn but she wasn't stupid. She wanted the wound to be fixed so it didn't get infected and end up hurting her more. "So..you really think...that I'm your sister?" Her tone had changed. No longer angry, irritated or scared--but relieved and somewhat excited. The female tried to keep it down, however, in case this wasn't true...but. It seemed that all the pieces fit into place quite nicely.

Morph nodded quietly, watching her mull over the information. He smiled slightly when she accepted his offer. Setting his guitar case on the ground he got up, padding over to sit directly in front of her. In his hands he had a cloth, a few bandages, some water and the tincture of wolfsbain. Luckily he had found a small bottle already prepared that he had forgotten about; stuffed away in a small pocket on his guitar case. Getting the cloth wet, he set about wiping the blood off her chin and forehead. Still smiling a little as he worked, he found it easier to think about everything now that his hands were busy. It was the same when he played his guitar. “Yes, I think so.” He said glancing down into her miss-matched eyes, seeing some amount of acceptance in them. “You really do look like you’re my sister.” Blood washed off, Morph opened the bottle of diluted wolfsbain, snorting a little as the odd smell reached his nose. “This might sting a little.” He murmured, holding the cloth against the top of the bottle and turning it over to soak some of the liquid into the cloth. Holding the wet part between his thumb and forefinger, he rubbed the cloth gently over the nick in Kaikara’s ear.

She had a family. That was the best news she'd--ever gotten. Even better than escaping those retched humans and being free to do as she wanted.
Looking up to him when he started to work, she got a chance to look him over--he really did look similar...the eyes, the smell even. It made her wonder.
Her eyes burned slightly, as well as her nose, but to the smell of the stuff and the rampage of emotions that ran through her. "S-so..what happened...why did I live with humans, why wasn't I with you and the others then? Did momma not want me?" She didn't understand that she'd been taken. She remembered the comforting smell and warmth of her mother and siblings, but then it went straight to the humans. Now she just wanted to be clear that she wasn't in for heartbreak of a family that hadn't wanted her to begin with.
Leaning forward when he began to fix the cut on her head, her eyes lowered to the ground between the two of them, studying her paws and flexing her toes to make her claws peak out unconsciously.

Morph smiled a little sadly as she questioned him. “Of course she wanted you, she wanted all of us. The humans…” The older cat frowned; even now he didn’t really understand why humans took everyone. Didn’t they understand we have families just like them? That they tear apart families constantly when they ‘adopt’ us? Morph sighed, releasing his confusion and frustration as he set down the soaked cloth and fussed with the bandages. “Humans took all five of us when we were very little… I remember a time when we were all together, but then we separated, and I wasn’t sure where everyone else had gone, and then I was taken by a couple of humans, and that was it until I escaped. I guess… the same happened to you.” Morph looked at her sadly, unrolling the bandages to wrap her ear snuggly but not too tight.
Once he was done, he sat back on his knees and observed his handy work. Frowning a little sheepishly he said “That’ll do it, but I’ll never be as good at stuff like that as Ishtar is. Ishtar is our brother.” Morph explained. “I haven’t talked to him in a while, but I hear from mom that he’s a really good healer.” He looked back at her bandaged ear. “That will take care of it, though, so don’t worry.” He smiled happily at Kaikara. “Everyone will be really glad to have you back.” He said cheerfully. His face fell a bit as he continued, his ears drooping back. “Nobody really seemed to talk about you… I don’t really know why. I guess we were all trying not to think about what might have happened to you.” But then his frown broke and he grinned again. “But Mom and everyone will be so excited you’re ok!” he beemed.

Blinking a few times as her ear was treated, she flicked it when he was finished, and gave him a sincere smile of thanks. Then he began to explain what happened.
"Damn humans," she growled under her breath, straightening up her back so she was a bit more at eye-level with him.
"Where...are they? I want..to see momma and daddy," still stuck on the childish names, but she had never had the chance to grow up and move on to different names. She gave a weak smile, "Morph...I've missed all of you so much," the usually foul-tempered female was now sinking into a greatful, excited mood. She wanted to see her family again, and her brother was a sight for sore eyes, if she could say so herself.

Morph smiled softly and was overcome with a very powerful urge to hug Kaikara, but held back because he wasn’t sure how she would respond. The fact that she had referred to their parents in a childish way did not bother him in the slightest. He remembered holding his mother’s hand when he had seen her for the first time in so very long, the feeling of comfort and security and love. The fluffy male blinked once, his green eyes a little moist, and hugged her anyways, enveloping her tightly. “Missed you too, little sister. ” He said; his voice a little shaky with emotion. It was strange, that Morph should find Kaikara when he was out looking for his other brother he had never seen in a long time. It was like some force really wanted the family back together after everything that had happened, wanted things to be right again. Thank you… He said quietly in his head.
