The winds of Autumn pushed along the browned leaves that had prematurely been aborted from their parent trees, falling onto the fading green grass of the fields, with a dank gray sky looming above. Some would describe the current landscape as depressing and bleak, but a certain stark white stallion considered the sight beautiful. Of course, he was looking at the terrain through a pond's reflection. And his presence made anything beautiful, save for feathers and those who ride the air on their filthy wings; nothing could make those beautiful.
"So, I've decided that you're pathetic existence is worthy of the pond. Maybe if you wash yourself in it, you wouldn't be nearly as revolting as you are right now, though I doubt that could happen. But at least you won't smell as horrible. Now get in." He commanded, barely acknowledging the pink and black mare behind him. She had taken to him like some sick puppy, following him around while he insulted her. The mare seemed to live off insults; it was the strangest thing he'd seen in his life.

It had been a while since Madoka had come to be in Ritalin's company. She didn't feel so lonely with him around, even if all he did was insult her. She deserved that. The fall season had come, and it was getting cooler. The change in color was something Madoka liked. the air had a crisp feeling in it. Not to much different then that day...
Madoka had been in her own thoughts when she heard her stallions cut voice commanding her... She tried her best to focus on him and his words, but for some reason she couldn't pull herself out from her mind, remember that day, from so long ago... A day she had forgotten until now, standing in that field near this pond. It wasn't the same place, but it looked all to familiar.
"Momma..." Echoed in her head. The screaming it all over powered Ritalin's voice, she didn't respond to his command.

"Hey, are you deaf? I told you to get in? I can't bear the stench of you anymore. Hello? Hey, ugly, get in the freaking water already." Ritalin whipped his neck around, blue eyes lit with anger. Their contract made it so that she wouldn't ignore him, and yet here she was in her own little fantasy world, not even having the decency to look at him.
"Hey! I told you to get in the freaking pond, now! Do I have to force you in there? Are you so stupid that you can't follow verbal commands anymore? Or have you gone completely braindead? Hello, anybody home? Come on out ugly stepsister, Cinderella's left with Prince Charming." He continued his slough of insults, turning his body around and continuing to bore a hole in her forehead with his eyes. He despised being ignored, especially by those who were supposed to be addicted to him.
So how to get her out of lala land? She did respond positively to verbal and emotional abuse, so physical abuse had to work too. But he didn't want blood all over his coat and hooves, blood was came from inside the body, an unclean source filled with nasty things. Threatening could probably do it.
"Alright you horribly marred wretch, either you leap into that pond right now, or I beat the living daylights out of you. Now get in, or face the consequences."

She could hear him ever so slightly. Her ears didn't move to the sound of his voice, or his body movements. The images of the day her parents were killed was playing in her mind... Almost burning in her retina's, even though it wasn't actually happening.
There was nothing the mare could do, as she stood there reliving the event. It was strange that it had been so long, but when her parents were killed, she was only a foal. "No, stop! don't kill them!" Madoka shrieked out stumbling to the side. She could feel the warm blood that flew from her parents bodies covering her, slipping down... The Kalonas had come out of no where.
She felt as if it just happened. her chest was heaving as she panted. The sensation of the blood, still warm slipping down along her was still there. Her eyes had gone wide. She had no idea Ritalin was even there anymore.
The event of her parents death had been buried deep inside her. So deep that she had pretty much regressed and forgot about it. But could her need to stand on her own dig this up so help her?

Was threatening not working on her? Did he actually have to physically reprimand her this time? Was this how he had to make her reach rock bottom? Did he actually have to break her through physical force and bloodshed.
Of course he did. She wasn't even obeying the law he had set down. She hadn't payed attention to him, she wasn't even LOOKING at him? She was off in her mentally diseased brain, probably thinking about sparkling rainbows and shiny little butterflies. His temper raised with his hoof, and his blue eyes grew dark, losing whatever spark they had earlier.
"I told you to get in." He spat, kicking his leg out, hitting Madoka in the leg. "Now do what I tell you, or I'll make you even uglier than you already are. Filth."

Madoka was kicked back into reality, literally. The shock and pain that came from the kick. A little bit of blood breaded and rolled down on her leg. She had stumbled and lost her balance because she hadn't focused. Her pink eyes looked up at the pure white stallion that was glowing with anger. He was probably no better then those Kalona...
But everything made sense now. The reason the herd left her, was because her parents were dead. They were the old leaders... And technically she at the age of an adult was to inherit the herd... It was law for them, but she was not fit to lead. Even she knew that. It wasn't that they didn't want her. But Keeping her would have been bad for the herd... The black hole that she was engulf by was vanishing... The light was getting brighter.
"Ha." Madoka laugh Half heartily. "I can't believe I forgot about all of that. " She stood up, her leg feeling weak and she stumbled. "It wasn't me."
She looked over at Ritalin. It was strange. Being with him did help her in the end. But even so, he would probably always find her ugly. Not that she cared TO much about it now. It was strange, everything fit and was clear. The feeling was so new.
"I don't need you anymore." She spoke to Ritalin in a flat tone. "You've served your purpose to me. I found the answers I was looking for."

"Excuse me, did you just say you don't need me anymore? Or were you just mumbling because your voice is so grating and terrible? Because you'll always need me, no matter how much you'd like to think you don't. You may end up leaving, but you'll come back. No one ever really forgets about me. You'll call my name in your darkest hour, and I'll be there so save your pathetic life. I'll make sure that you regret trying to quit me." Blue orbs had turned several shades darker as the white stallion spat the words into the mare's ugly face. This cretin, this freak of nature, had just told him that he wasn't needed. She acted as though she used him? He used her!
Drip...
Blood. Horrible, disgusting, vomit inducing, crimson bodily fluid. It kept dripping from her leg, agonizing and sickening him. Blood was filthy and ugly, like this mare, and like the birds. Ugly things...needed to be fixed. And this mare...she was very ugly. So ugly...so utterly distorted and ill proportioned.
But if he fixed her, more blood would spill. Filthy, stinky, terribly red blood. Would he really expose himself to that horrible liquid for such a lost cause? Of course not. This one wasn't worth it.
"But you can leave now you freak of nature. Just remember, you'll need me eventually. And when you do, you'll be pulled right back in."

"You're wrong..." She turned away from him, with a bit of a limp. "I needed you, and you did exactly what was expected of you, Your pushed the nails deeper in, and allowed me to remember something I buried." She smiled some. It was a cruel way for her to find the truth again, but it was the quickest in the end. And she was grateful to him for that.
"I might choose to follow someone unconditionally, but it will be the horse I choose, and he will find be to be the most beautiful thing that walked." It was strange though. She had been with him for so long, she actually felt sad about leaving. But even now that she's regained some of her self identity he still found her ugly. So maybe he truly wasn't the one she was suppose to be with and it was time for her to go on, and find the one she would be loyal too.
"The only time we'll ever see each other again, is if you come find me. When I find my stallion, he will be my light in the darkness. Not you. But I do have to thank you."
