Many changes were taking place in the warren and not all of them were exactly good.

In fact, most of them weren't.

It bothered him deeply and, beneath his furry pelt and stern exterior, the rock solid Owsla felt anxieties pressing through. His pale, emerald eyes scanned the skies for winged Elil and his nose was busy scenting the wind for danger.

Night would be coming soon and many rabbits were out and about to siflay in the dying sun's last rays of light. Weather was cooling and winter would, eventually, be upon them. Might as well take advantage of what warm weather was left and eat what they could.

The massive buck lowered his head to the earth, where he grazed on a clump of rather tasty grass, something he would certainly miss in the coming, cold months, and kept his eyes and ears open for Elil or rabbits that felt like starting a little trouble.

User Image Sunset was a particularly favourite time for Blackwort of the Watership Down Warren Owsla. It was the time he considered the most fun, when the warren was most at ease and active. Even Lord Frith himself was at ease during ths time - before he went to bed, he always lay calm and easy in the red sky after his day of work.

Still, Lord Frith had his work cut out for him, and so did he. The black rabbit had been busy patrolling the long edges of the territory, sniffing for stoats or smaller ground dwelling predators, or intruders. He had found a large rat several days ago and sent it on it's way, however, the rabbit was not content to leave it just there. Rodents, mice and rats in particular, were persistant. And their presence would mean more food competition for his warren. The buck rose up on his hinds, tattered ears high over his head as he tried to take every sight and sound in to ensure that everything was indeed safe.

Content that there was nothing in the immediate patch of land, he made a solitary thump on the ground with his foot and moved on, somewhat dissapointed. The Owsla was proud and enjoyed the thought of being able to defend his burrow. Although he did not like to fight specifically, he would have hoped there was something around to reinforce his position.

Soon enough, he came up the down, slowing as he noticed the lighter colorued male. He had a bit of weight about his shoulders and Blackwort vaguely wondered if wasn't already an Owsla himself.

"Hie there," He said in a polite manner, yet still managing his gruff air at the same time. "Have you come out to Silflay? The Down is clear in the lower land," He sat on his hinds and momentarily itched at his side, "Good eating down there for a bigger stronger adventurous one like yourself."

Dark tipped ears flicked as the heavy set buck lifted his green gaze to face the hefty, black buck. A light smile played over his maw and he hastily swallowed his current was of munched grass. He did not know this fellow well, but he had seen him around and knew well enough that he was, indeed, Owsla. It lightened his heavy heart to see a fellow officer working hard.

Briefly, he felt slightly embarrassed at being caught eating while watching the Down. That feeling washed away quickly, however, and his confidence filled him once more.

"Watching the borders, actually." He replied once the food shifted down his throat. "Fortunately, there seems to be nothing out of place, though I wish there was something more productive for me to do. Nothing much going on in the higher land. I'll be headed back that way shortly."

From a clump of nearby bushes, the dark shape of another rabbit emerged. Bright amber eyes flicking over the pair sat together on the down before the heavily musculed black buck padded over, moving slow and lazily so neither would mistake his arrival for any kind of emergency.

Drawing to a stop beside the pair he nodded his head to Badassi, recognising the other Owsla from the old wide patrols and other incidents around the warren over the years, though he had never really gotten to speak at length with the male. The other buck, the black wiht the blue eyes, he did not recognise at all, aside from knowing him as a member of the warren in general he could not recall a name for the face.

Settling back on his hinds the amber-eyed male scratched lazily at his shoulder. "Quiet day.. considering." He mused aloud, looking back at the grey rabbit.
