Thunder tore through the night, causing the entire world to tremble. Trees danced, their shadows jittering like candle-flame, images created by the flashes of light. The lightening seemed to tear the sky to pieces, each white-hot flash a serpents tongue made of fire.
The small colt huddled in his shelter, shivering violently as the world raged around him. Mother Swamp was at unrest. More booms scattered soundwaves haphazardly through the forest, each wave bouncing through the forest, creating an unreal din of echoes.
Rain was pelting from the sky, droplets so large and heavy they physically hurt. The drumroll they caused created a platform for the large concussive shockwaves of sound to war upon.
The colt pressed farther back into his dank, stone cocoon. The thick layer of rocks insulated him from some of the rain and noise, and yet fat drips of water wormed their way through the rocks and taunted him. Regardless a screaming cacophony of noise assaulted his ears.
The young Kimeti was absolutely terrified, he had never seen Mother Swamp so ruthless, so harsh.
More thunder and lightening tore through the sky, leaving him huddled in a damp, hard corner.
A thick coil of lightening went wild, speeding towards the earth with deadly intent. It smashed into the ground mere feet from the colt. Light bloomed in front of his eyes, dazzling him with it's intensity. A thick wall of heat rolled from the point of impact, flattening his fur against his body and striking him like a fist. The rock exploded, slivers flying through the air before him, tearing little cuts all along his skin, blood welling up slowly. The air screamed as it rushed to fill the vacant spot the heat had created. The shards of stone twisted through the air, glittering white-hot like diamonds. All throughout the swamp could see the flecks of Shattered-Stone.
