Bailey sat in the middle of the fairy ring with a garland of flowers around it's head. Lissy, the fae's older 'sister', had gone off to play with other more active kids and left the infant all alone at the base of the park's largest tree. Gabrielle would have been upset, that is, if she wasn't at work.
The babysitter was asleep on the park bench as the little rugrats ran wild. Bailey watched the elderly woman and giggled when her mouth disappeared behind the rolls on her neck. It's little wings were stuck straight out, catching all the sun rays availible as it babbled on to itself, playing around with the little mushrooms and flowers.
As far as Unisex children went, it was pleased with itself. It knew that it was an it, even if mommy and sissy tried to say it was a girl. The toddler reached over and picked up it's little plastic kazoo, a favorite toy to be sure, and started to play a wonderful song.
(*I'm using Bailey's ability and while not strong enough yet to call others out, it does give them a compulsion to come to Bailey. I figured it would be a good way to start out.)

In Howl's mind, he was still a twenty-seven year old wizard, or as he liked to say, over ten thousand days old. How he'd gotten here (meaning Gaia) was still a mystery to the wizard. It didn't seem like anyone he knew had come with him, well, except Calcifer. But he was a special case.
And the firedemon wasn't very good company for the toddler. "Heartless Howl is back," Calcifer would occasionally mutter from where he was floating near Howl's shoulder. He meant it literally, too. Howl was indeed heartless. He ate girls hearts whole on a weekly basis, too. But that wasn't quite so literal.
There was one reason he was there in the park, and one reason only. He'd escaped from that box shaped prison (meaning a playpen) to find Sophie. He wouldn't rest until he did...
But then. He heard music, and as determined as he was to find Sophie, she could wait. He had to follow the beautiful song. He didn't know what it was that compelled him to do so, but as he listened he had only one thought in his head. He had to find the person playing it.

Having escaped the bond of her father Noel for a little while, Alome flew around the park, streching her wings as far as they could go. She went as high as the top of a medium size tree, then flew low, her belly rubbing against the grass in a tickling manner. All the while, Noel kept a secure watch on her, pulling her back with his spells if she flew away too much.
Alome was resting on the top of a jungle gym a bit away from the largest tree in the park, when a soft sound reached her ears. "Oooh..~ "She murmured, her own musical instinct unable to resist the tempting sound.
"La La La.." She sung with the melody, flying to the source. There she saw a little person.. And though she would normally introduce herself, she couldn't stop singing. "La La Li Le La..."

The little dream fae lowered it's cupped ears as it played. It's eyes were closed as it became more infused with the little diddly, unaware of the company it was receiving. Little chubby legs were pulled up underneath itself with the dress hiding itself amonst the mushrooms and flowers. If only the sun wasn't shining so brightly on it, then today could be perfect.
When Bailey opened it's eyes, it immediately stopped playing and stared at the flying child with a mixture of awe and horror. It's shier side took over as it rejected the other completely, shutting off his musicial companion while hiding it's face behind it's hand as it tucked down like a hedgehog. Why, there was even another one coming, this one a boy! It whimpered, shaking lightly as it hoped the strangers would just leave.

As the music stopped, Howl took a glance around. He saw a flying girl. She was pretty. Wait! He couldn't be thinking like that! He had to find Sophie! Before that annoying elf that made him call him dad came and found him. Where could she be? Oh well. Maybe the flying girl could help him.
"Hi," Howl said, looking up at the girl. "What'th your name?" At least he was polite, but the lisp was annoying to even his own ears. Then he asked the question that seemed the most important to him. "Why I little? Why I here?" And why couldn't he even speak properly? He was a wizard! Maybe he had a cold or something. But then, why did everything seem so much bigger? He obviously hadn't seen himself in a mirror since he'd come to Gaia.

Alome landed not too far off from the little child who was playing the music, and was about to go speak to it, before another child, a boy who seemed a bit older than her, approached her. She blinked, not quite understanding what he meant, but tried her best to answer the boy's questions.
"Um.." She spoke softly, a slight singing tone to her voice. "I'm Alome. Nice to meet you~" She waved, to him, smiling a bit, turning around for a moment to see if she saw her father, and after receiving a nod from him, she turned back around. "Um.. You wittle cause you wittle. You get big after while. And you hear cause daddy or mommy bwoght you. I dink." Alome Nodded wisely, before turning back to the other little child who was sitting down. They looked a little scared, and Alome didn't want to frighten them more. She was hesitant to approach them further.

"Nice meet you too, Lome," Howl said, blinking at her. "You pretty," he remarked before he could stop himself. A light blush crossed his small cheeks before he thought about what she said. "I wath big once..." he explained, sadly.
"I gotth no parentth Well... There elf who thay he my Daddy. But he not. I 'member my real Daddy. He not him. He lie. I looking for Thophie. Thee mithing. Can't find her no where..." The blonde toddler gave a sniffle, before glancing around again. Then he saw an adult. Surely he would help him! Howl toddled towards Noel at top speed, before tugging on his sleeve.

Noel was sitting on a bench, watching his daughter and mouthing spells to keep her close by, but not completely restricting her, just.. Controlling her enough so that she didn't leave his sight. He was a little curious when he saw a little boy approach her, but he didn't seem too much of a threat, so he let them be.
Be fore he knew it, the little blond boy dashed to him tugging on his own overly long sleeves. "Oh.. Hello little one.. Can I help you with something?"
Alome wasn't used to seeing people talk to her daddy; he kinda seemed to just lurk in the background, making sure she was safe. To see a boy dash over to him, one who's name she didn't even know yet, startled her a bit. She flew as fast as she could after him, landing into her father's lap with a soft 'thud'. From her perch in Noel's lap, she watched Howl curiously. "Wat is you name, big boi?"

Howl looked up at the man, before a sniffle escaped him. Little one? He was a wizard! Still, Howl didn't bother to correct him. "I lookin' for Thophie," he explained. "Thee mithing. Think thee home in cathtle thtill. In Ingary" He gave a sad sigh, before shaking his head. "Mith Thophie..."
He glanced at Alome, before looking down at his feet. A pink blush spread across his cheeks again. "Name'th Howl," he told her. Not Wizard Jenkins, not Wizard Pendragon; nor Horrible Howl, or Heartless Howl. Just Howl. He didn't feel like making up a false name today.

Alome blinked as she watched Howl's cheek turn a different color. She tilted her head a bit, swinging her feet. "Howl.." She tested the name on her tongue and smiled. "Cute name!!"
She turned to her daddy, leaning against his stomach.
"Ingary..? From the Books?" He vaguely seemed to recognize the little boy.. And his name was.. This was HIM?! "Howl... Sophie isn't here.. I'm sorry.. " He felt so horrible telling hime that.. But.. He couldn't lie. "Where is the person watching you?

Howl gave Alome a small smile before looking up at Noel. "Bookth?" he echoed, tilting his head slightly. Then his smile faded completely. "Thophie not here? Where Thophie then?" He asked, as if Noel was hiding her somewhere.
He glanced around the park, his frown deepening. "My 'Daddy' not here. I ethcaped! Try keep me in... Calthifer let me out. I look for Thophie all over. But no find her. You know where Thophie ith?" Then he noticed the slightly younger child who was curled up in a ball. Maybe they could help! But instead of dashing to said child's side, he decided to wait for Noel's answer. The toddler had a feeling he knew something.

Noel reached into his bag and pulled out the novel, holding it. The cover was eccentrically designed, and in big bold letters it read "Howl's Moving Castle".
"Howl.. Sophie.. She's in the book.. Her, your son.. Everyone.. They are in the book.. But also.. Because of that, you're safe here.. " He was trying his best to comfort the young.. Wizard..
Alome didn't quite understand, but sat quietly, kicking her feet. "No understand, Daddy..

Howl looked confused as he looked at the book's cover. That looked nothing like his castle! He couldn't read the words, but they seemed familar to him. He narrowed his eyes at Noel, before frowning. "Why they in there?" he questioned, tilting his head slightly. Why would they be in a book? They were supposed to be in Ingary! In the castle, the castle he and Calcifer had invented... Wait. Calcifer was here. Did that mean the castle had been destroyed? Oh no! Where would Sophie, Morgan, Micheal and the new apprentice stay?
"Thith Calthifer," he introduced his fire demon to both Noel and Alome. "He a--" he started, but the fire demon interupted him.
"I'm an all powerful fire demon!" Calcifer bragged.

"I'm sure they are safe.." Noel murmured, smiling a sincere, but slightly timid smile.
With wide, eager eyes, Alome hopped out of her father's lap and went close to Calcifer, analyzing him as best as she could.
"Oh... You so cute!" She giggled, reaching out to pet him. It was hot, but not enough to burn her tiny palm, and after touching the 'demon' she pulled her hand away, not able to handle the heat for far too long.
"Hai Caleefer! I is Alome~ It nice to meet uu!" She curtsied. "Oh! Pwowerful? Dat soo Coolio!"

Howl didn't look as if he believed Noel, and had to wipe his eyes with chubby hands. They couldn't be in a book, they just couldn't! Maybe this adult knew where they were, and was hiding them. Just in case, he circled the man to make sure Sophie wasn't hiding behind him. "Wan Thophie..." he sniffled.
Calcifer allowed himself to be 'petted', but didn't like being called cute. Not at all. "I am not cute," he began, almost huffily. "I am an all powerful fire demon." he paused, liking her next statement. "Yes, I suppose I am cool."
