Lumanny the Space Jew kingpinsqeezels What is this honey cake you speak of? It sounds delicious! You've never had it? It's divine!! I'll have to try that. I really don't get to celebrate the holidays. Partly because I'm too nervous to go to a synagogue and partly because I never know when they are. Last year I fasted on the wrong day for Yom Kippur. whee

On a completely unrelated note, my mum just gave me a US Army issue torah. It looks like it was printed in 1945. biggrin It's pretty cool.

I couldn't find any real Kosher bakeries but there's a price chopper that supposedly has a large kosher section. Probably won't have honey cake but they may have honey cookies, oh and for some off reason also UA seems to have kosher food.

Kosher bakeries will have honey cake at this time of year, but even if they don't, just look up a recipe and try it out. It's nothing special -- just any cake that you can make with honey instead of sugar.
I'm planning to serve za'atar roasted turkey, fried zucchini and squash, rice with soybeans or maybe English peas and onions, tomato salad (Israeli salad, but without the cucumbers, because cucumbers become tasteless around autumn), roasted corn, and an apple-oatmeal crumble. Why? Because Rosh Hashanah is the weekend before Canadian Thanksgiving, eh? smile

If I'm around, sooner or later the conversation will turn to food. Sorry 'bout that.
