So. Some of you may have received RP archival notices from me, while others may have noticed the "RP Archives" subforum and wondered how and when threads get sent there.

I'd like to know a few things from our regs as well as anyone who plans to RP:

1. Is this system effective?
The initial purpose of this system was actually to clean up the ORP forum so people don't accidentally enter dead ORP. Then I decided I might as well clean up the PRP forum at the same time.

I suppose another reason the system exists is to sort of give participants a valid reason to "nudge" each other into tagging. All notices go, by default, to the host (whoever set up the RP thread). If the RP is waiting on the host themselves, they can tag directly. If the RP is waiting on someone else, the host can quote me and politely nudge that person.

"Hey, our RP is up for archival... are you gonna tag soon, or shall we just close it?"
vs
"Hey, our RP has been waiting on you for a long time, are you gonna tag soon, or shall we just close it?"

Scenario 1 places the "blame" on the shop. Scenario 2 places the "blame" on the person everyone else is waiting on. Some people very much dislike having to carry out scenario 2. Therefore... I guess the notice provides a slightly more "polite" way of nudging? x'D Thoughts on this line of reasoning?

2. Should I extend the warning period?
Currently I give 2 weeks from the last post in the RP thread (be it a tag or discussion) before I send a notice, which I figured was reasonable enough... I mean, 14 days. Two weekends. >.>
If your answer to the above question is yes, please give me an approximation of how long you take to churn up a decent tag.

3. Not a question: I would like to assure anyone who links/keeps track of their past RP through their journals or otherwise that the links to guild threads do not change when they are moved from forum to forum. You need not update your links when I archive your RP.

4. Any other thoughts/comments?

I like the system how it is and I do think 2 weeks is a decent amount of time.

I think it's a pretty effective system. ^_^ I'm satisfied with everything the way it currently is. =)

I find it pretty effective, and it does help keep RPs more active. ^^ Ummm...I generally respond within two weeks unless I'm totally uninspired/my RP partners are busy/on hiatus. ^^;
