Cheshire wandered aimlessly, unsure of where exactly she was anymore. The sunlight made patterns upon her patterns, forcing her to stand out like a sun at night. She shivered slightly, thinking about night. Momentary lapses of memory plagued her of what happened last night, but her paws had been bloody. She spent the afternoon walking in a stream, trying to get rid of the color and feeling of the disgusting substance.
Her glazed eyes managed to spot a beautiful bush, with wild roses of white and red, which seemed to be dripping with paint. The wolf grinned to herself, unable to contain the happiness she felt while looking at them, they reminded her of her home. All over the place they had white roses, but none looked like they were crying red paint.
So the female lay next to the bush, staring at her own pink red and white reflection that seemed to match the roses perfectly.

We're Painting the roses red
We dare not stop
Or waste a drop
So let the paint be spread
We're painting the roses red
We're painting the roses red

Oh, painting the roses
And many a tear we shed
Because we know
They'll cease to grow
In fact, they'll soon be dead
And yet we go ahead
Painting the roses red

JiYong had set off in a random direction this morning, wanting to possibly find a new, small hunting ground. He'd been wandering around these mountains and rivers for weeks now...unsure of where to go or what to do.

But, he didn't let that get him down. The sights and sounds he'd encountered already made him grin widely, simply padding along in one direction and veering off to another randomly.

What seemed to be a sudden change of the wind made his nose twitch, his steps slowing so he was still and quiet. Taking in a slow, deep breath JiYong lowered his gaze down...to a rose bush. Was that the weird smell? He'd seen roses before, in all shapes and colors, so this was nothing to strange. His small form inched forward, and JiYong sniffed at the flowers quietly, scarred nose taking in the differences of the roses and the leaves fully.

The different scent hit him again, making the wolf jump and pull his head back. All the while, he was managing to be quiet, up until he began to edge his way around the bush so he could see what was on the other side. The overpowering scent of roses was throwing off what his brain was telling him. The white wolf circled the long way, so as not to disturb what might be hiding just feet from him...until his eyes rested upon the female wolf. No wonder it smelled strange, but she had a scent he'd never smelt before. Which was...odd to JiYong, but not in a bad way.

His ears flicked forward and he grinned, approaching cautiously but in a friendly manner, "Are you okay?" He piped up, cocking his head.

Cheshire was somewhat shocked by the others presence, she had heard nothing, felt nothing different in the area and yet here he was. She turned slowly meeting his eyes and deciding in the back of her mind she would not be so close to rosebushes that they would alter her since of smell anymore. Chesh faced him now, trying her best not to seem so surprised. He was a lovely color white and the heart around his ruby eyes. He radiated something, charm that made her smile genuinely.
“I am quite fine, a little lonely to be honest, but fine all the same.”
Out of instinct the female raised herself off of the ground and bowed her head, keeping her distance and yet showing interest.

Queen saw through Cheshire’s eyes for a small amount of time, using the female as a catalyst in order to see the world around her. The male that had found them seemed not to be a threat, but who knew. She smiled mentally thinking of the night before when she had painted roses red, in however you wished to take that statement. She observed him, staring at the heart around his eye for a brief amount of time before allowing Cheshire back through and into her body.

Her surprise didn't really catch him off guard. He had came out of nowhere, and he didn't announce himself outside of speaking up when he was right behind her.

That grin never left his lips however, and as soon as she rose up, he moved to sit down, not wanting to seem like a threat at all. His head was still held high, but that was just how he was. "Well, that's no good. Cant leave anyone lonely," he chuckled a bit and bowed his head slightly, making sure she didn't think he was here to dominate or shove her around. "I see you have a good taste in flowers, though. Roses--gorgeous," nodding after his statement, JiYong cocked his head and looked her colors over curiously.

"My name is JiYong. I'm sorry for sneaking up on you, I didn't even smell you until I passed the bush."

Cheshire nodded and lowered herself as well, still staring into his eyes. They were such a lovely color after all. “I’m Cheshire, and its quite alright… no harm was done, though if I were you around certain wolves I would make a bit more noise, worried particularly of their temperaments.” The strange female silently looked out towards the water once more, allowing her mind to wander some. His presence was welcome around her, but she found she did not have much to say. Perhaps that was why she was lonely… because Cheshire always saw the best in everything but remained silent about it.

She looked at his reflection in the water once more, trying to find something to say. Roses were wonderful, she had grown up around them but that was established by his saying that they were a excellent pick. So she slipped into her quizzical nature she rarely had around another, and found herself speaking nonsense that would more then likely only make since to her. “Don’t you love how reflections allow you to be a part of the world, but never to have to deal with the disappointments? Where dear sir, if you don’t mind me asking, did you manage to get half the scars you did?” Chesh looked back up from the water, honestly curious about his story, with her ears perked up and her eyes focused on him.

"I'll have to keep that in mind," another chuckle left him, and he licked his chops absently, his tail thumping against the ground behind him while she spoke. She had a calm temperament, which was nice to see in a female. The girls he'd run into were all gung-ho and ready to rip his face off if he stepped out of line.

Following her gaze to the water, he tilted his head and smiled, nodding in agreement. "Disappointments are part of life--it helps you grow," JiYong hummed quietly, slowly sliding down rest onto his belly, his front legs moving to cross absently.

Looking up to the she-wolf, JiYong stared at her quietly, looking over her expression and body language. She did really seem to be curious. His grin never left his mouth, a little snarky of him, but nothing too cocky. "In short--I didn't want to take someone else's stupidity," he deadpanned, a light laugh leaving him afterwords, "Some wolves just dont seem to know how to run a pack, which ended up in their demise--not mine." This made him sound even cockier...but it left her a lot to think over when it came to his past. Obviously he'd been mauled by his former pack mates...as to why, he'd leave her to ask more questions if she'd like.

"Why are you out here by yourself, might I ask? It's not really safe--as you said, others and their temperaments can be worrisome."

Cheshire blinked a few times at the change of subject to herself. Her gaze drifted away again, and she avoided looking at the other. “I have a feeling I can hold my own, but I’ve never really had to fight myself. In all reality I don’t know what happens. When a threat is posed I simply sleep and wake up with blood splattered on me… I’m sorry that you were treated badly.” The last statement seemed to be something added on, as she intended it, but she was truly sorry… despite her inability to show it correctly. Cheshire was not one to show or acknowledge pain, emotional or physical. The female shifted herself so that he could no longer see her face correctly, though she did not know at the time it was not her will that made her do such.

Queen glared out, feeling overwhelmed why would someone be so rude as to ask such a question. Her body was alive and well, and her mind mostly intact… so why must he interfere and make the dimwit she shared a mind with question why it was she was protected. Must these pathetic beings always need an answer as to why they do the thing they do? Couldn’t they just not think about it and follow the law of survival of the fittest? Before the female could turn around and harm the other she was shocked to find Cheshire forcing her out of place. The problem with Queen is that she had little to no apprehension, where as Cheshire had her plain curiosity to propel her forward in order to ask her questions. It was indeed a battle of wills.
“Anyway… why is it that they hurt you then?” Cheshire asked, with a mild headache building in her third eye.

Listening to her, and watching her body language once more, he was stunned to see the changes that occurred over just a few seconds. It was...interesting to say in the least.

His smile faltered for a moment, and moved into a light grin pulling at the corners of his lips. He decided to not question the 'sleeping' and waking up to blood...he'd save that for when she got a bit more comfortable with him, if that happened.

A soft hum left JiYong, and he craned his neck to lick at the scar just below his heart, near the bottom of his chest. Her question as to why they had hurt him made him give the best shrug he could manage, lifting his head back up to look her over once more, the sweet scent of the roses going against the overall mood of discussing such a dark subject.

"I spoke out against the alpha," JiYong admitted openly, snickering darkly afterwards. "He was stupid--didn't know how to do anything right. After I challenged him and I beat him--I left, and said whoever wanted to come with me could. No one did. I found their bodies a few days later, mutilated."

Cheshire stared at the other, such actions were not uncommon now, but still she felt something close to sympathy for him. “I’m sorry you have been through so much. I really shouldn’t have intruded like that.” The female did the only thing she knew how to do, after being in a family like hers was; she stood strong for him, her cold presence meant to be comforting.

Queen glowered at the sympathy the other felt. It made them seem pathetic really. Forcefully she shoved herself forward, glaring at the pathetic emotions of the other lesser wolf. “In all actuality the fact that you didn’t kill him is pathetic in its own list of failures.” She stood, making her lithe form even more menacing, more predator-like and started walking away. Her gaze drifted easily, she felt like killing something just to get rid of that stupid Cheshire’s emotions that were contaminating her body. However she disregarded the male in front of her... he would be no fun. He at least could be used later.

Jiyong shook his head at the sympathy, really not needing nor wanting it. He felt that what he had done was what he needed to, and now that the wolves had learned their lesson, so to speak, he knew he was correct in thinking that some wolves were just stupid, needed a shove to head in the right direction.

However, the next comment that crossed Cheshire's lips surprised him. He'd noticed the changes in attitude, how she held herself--it changed from time to time. Which intrigued him greatly.

"I feel no need to kill anyone," the wolf said simply, watching as 'Cheshire' stood and began to step away from him. JiYong, feeling cocky and brave, stood as well to begin to follow her...keeping a good distance between them so he didn't seem threatening. "And I assume you would have murdered that alpha?" He might have done it--but the way that the wolves had cowered beneath their previously docile pack mate had been too much for him. Had he felt mercy? He wasn't sure. All he knew is that he had won, despite them all going against him and scarring his face and chest.

“Then I suppose you have no real motive to live, not killing anyone how idiotic. You must kill to survive it’s the way of life.” She turned her body to face him, her eyes cold and her smirk cold “ I would have killed the alpha for insolence, and then killed anyone else who decided it best to challenge me. I would not have allowed them close enough to harm my body.” Queen turned once more, showing how little she thought of the pathetic male behind her and walked away, her head held high, to find something worth her time to do.

The female thought of the possibility of joining a pack and being beneath one and snorted. It just showed what sort of being this wolf was, living under the rules of another so easily. Packs were just a disgusting way to sign ones freedom and thus their soul away. Queen’s head hurt as she made her way across the stream, trying to find some good place to do… what exactly she could not tell until she got there. Now if the male wolf were to follow her, he had to stay out of her way, otherwise she felt the urge to dispose of him.

Men, they always assumed the role of superior beings, but they never really were. A man may be the head of the den, but his mate was the neck and twisted him this way and that. Pathetic, insolent beings only good for toying with.
