I know what I nerd I am for posting this, but since a fair number of the rest of you are also into the game, I thought I'd make this a topic, since it says a fair bit about you. Assuming that there was such a thing in real life, which Pokemon would you have, assuming that you only had six? Who would make up your party?
Now as I said, this is real life. You don't get to pick any of the ones that can't be caught anywhere (that we know of) and no legendaries...Unless you somehow think that you're the kind of person that would somehow manage to plunge the depths, exploring hazardous regions with an epic team before any of the best-funded and most well equipped scientific agencies did first. In other words, you can pick them, but we'll all be quite sure that you're entirely full of s**t.
Note, these needn't necessarily battle with them. You could enter them in contests, use them for travel or convenience, or just keep them as pets.

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, the Unova region is modeled after New York. That means that for those of us in the US (or anywhere closer to New York than Japan), were Pokemon real, those of us not in/near Japan may be more limited.
That got me thinking... In the case that only those listed in the Unova Pokedex were real, which would I have? I'd be interested in hearing from the rest of you, too.
As a matter of secondary consideration, give a second list. A lot of them can be found in the Unova region after completing the main story. The second list should include the ones such as these that you would be interested in including among your six.

Hmm... I suppose high on my list would be a Raichu, which has always been my favourite pokemon. Second would be a Vulpix, third would be a Furret because they remind me of Ferrets (which I love). Fourth would be a Sentrit, since they're so cute. Fifth would be another Sentrit since one gets scared on its own. And finally, sixth would be a Growlithe, since I haven't had a dog in a long time, and it would be fun to watch the Jehovah's Witnessess's bolt to the fence to avoid my pet's fireball. ^^

If I were allowed any pokemon though, I'd have a Quilava (my other favourite pokemon), and an Eevee.

Aww, no Blastoise? Well, in that case...

Beedrill. Because I don't care what anyone else says, she's ******** badass. I would have raised this one lovingly from a Weedle, the first Pokemon I caught. Her name is Zinger.

Pidgey. My "baby." I don't use this one for battles. He delivers mail for me, and in return I cuddle with and pamper him. His name is Valmur.

Fearow. My toughest fighter. However, she is also very gentle, and I will defend Spearow and Fearow, who are often portrayed as villains, to the death. Her name is Clara.

Arbok. Another misunderstood Pokemon. You'd expect this one to pounce of Valmur and devour him whole, but she knows better. But she knows better. In fact, she and Valmur are the best of friends. Clara used to fearlessly protect her from bigger Pokemon back when she was an Ekans. Her name is Tasha.

Raichu. Like Valmur, he doesn't like to fight. He prefers to playfully tickle Zinger with mild electric attacks. Have you ever heard a Beedrill laugh? It's interesting. His name is Ushio.

Sandslash. She's a bit more aloof than my other Pokemon and prefers to spend her time in holes underground. She's gotten into a few territorial fights with other Sandlash. She comes out when she's hungry or bored. Her name is Garland.

I loved the gameboy game way back in the day.

I would probably have the following in my six:

Lapras - understands human speech, water type, transport across bodies of water
random lightning type that's ridiculously easy to catch- lightning type
Chansey - healing type
Ninetails - fire type
Sandslash - sand type
Spearow - flying/reconnaissance

I like having a versatile mix of Pokemon. I think Lapras and Chansey would be less for battle. Lapras I would talk with and use for going across lakes and oceans and the like. Chansey would be our first aid kit as well as the counselor. Spearow I'd use for recon and Ninetails I'd use mostly for battle, and Sandslash I'd use for battle but also to help dig out shelters on our many journeys. I'd probably not keep them in their balls a lot and treat them more as friends and pets.

Hmm...good question.

Jigglypuff and Eevee, definitely...those were and still are my favorites. A Persian...Oh, and definitely a Piplup. Those are ridiculously adorable. Let's see, that puts me at four. Probably a fire type and a psychic type for battling.

I'd like to be a Lugia or a Ho-Oh... Celeby maybe? I dunno I like those legendary talking pokemons xD
