I used to like Hot Topics, back in the day when they actually had *good* clothes and were "all about the music" instead of "all about the money" Now...occasionally I'll pop by and see if they have anything Naruto or anime-related.
I did that over labor day weekend. BIG, BIG mistake. They had an entire row of Twilight s**t, shirts of "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" plastered most disgustingly all over the place. I started chatting w/ one of the sales girls about the band Fly Leaf and she suddenly goes, "so, what team are you on?"
Me: huh?
salesgirl: Twilight, duh! Team Edward, or Team Jacob? They're both so cute I can't decide!
me: ......and here I thought you were intelligent....*sighs* Team Jasper
sales girl: *looks confused* But he tries to eat Bella
me: Exactly. And, tragically, he fails.
sales girl: *looks disapointed* You don't like Twilight, do you?
me: I like well-written books with three dimensional characters. So, no. *walks out*

Ew. I hate Hot Topic. I was there just the other day. The whole store is full of scenester crap and Twilight s**t. I saw neon ********, I was with a friend, who only wanted to buy some buttons, so we did, and we left.
I would've said something like " Team Cliff. " And left her to wonder. What an idiot.

Good thing we don't have places like that back here in Southeast Asia. Otherwise, life's gonna suck a lot.

My sister has one of the tutus....As I may have stated before, I am a rexovered twitard, and have multiple twilight pins and nothing to do with them. So my sister took them and a bottle of white out and put white out on all of them, and now we get to use my huge thing of sharpies to make new pins!

Oi vey, I hate the concept of emo, and especially scene. They put so much effort into being 'unique' or whatnot that they can't see hypocrisy when it's right under their nose. They dress and act according to trends to...avoid trends. What the <********>. Remember when it was just decent 90's music? Stupid teenyboppers had to hijack the word for their baawwwing. It pisses me off.

I started hating that store after they got all the crap for Twifail too...all i get there are the knee-high boots, arm warmers and Kingdom Hearts merchandise...so yeah....i really hate one of them because i was walking though the Twifail isle, because there was no other way to go, and the cashier asked if i wanted to pre-order the DVD, and after i calmly said i'm against Twilight she told me "oh, well why are you in this store, then?" and I responded by saying "oh, i guess you don't want money from people who enjoy logic and who want to buy the other merchandise, then? that's fine, i'll do my shopping on ebay from now on, thanks!" and i left......the b***h probably asked that because it was the Thursday before the movie came out on DVD but i refuse to step in that certain hot Topic ever again.
I swear, it was like when i walked into the Neiman Marcus......those people are bitchy too, but unless you're loaded, they won't even walk past you.....so it's fun standing in that store then looking at all the expensive s**t, but anyways....that's off topic!

Nowadays, it's all about the money, not the quality of service. They are sellouts!

Hot Topic revolts me and always has. They take every hint of a 'new style' and squeeze shitty products out of it. That and the fact that they are slimy bastards who steal artwork and turn it into overpriced crappy merchandise then stamp their feet when someone goes 'Ummm yea that's WRONG'.
One case I know of personally is an artist who drew a custom design for a friend who wanted a tattoo. She sketched it out for him, he got a tattoo artist to ink it on him, all was well. Then a year later he's strolling past his local Hot-Topic and see's that they've turned the SAME picture into a temporary tattoo so he snaps a pic of it and sends it to her.
So the artist is pissed off. Hot Topic clearly stole artwork they had no permission to use and even had the nerve to airbrush out the watermark of her name on the image. So she sends them an angry letter. A few weeks letter they reply saying they'll remove the product from the shelves but REFUSED to apologise and did not respond to her again.
In other words: Hot Topic in itself is a corrupted company that feels because they are 'fadish' and 'oh-so'scene' they are above normal copyright rules thus making them thick-headed idiots.
