Should've known it was coming.
So, first of all, Project Needlemouse is a new SEGA project they're working on, which is a new 2D Sonic title due in 2010. It's not the official name, obviously, just as, well, a project.
Teaser Trailer video is here.
No official blog posts or website. Which brings me to add, the Needlemouse website is unofficial, according to Sega of America, the ones who announced this Project in the first place.
Thoughts? Opinions? Discuss.
My point on it is just that I'm glad they're doing this. Lots of Sonic fans wanted old school Sonic, so that's what they're getting (or at least I hope so). Thing is, they're still complaining that 'SEGA has finally given up'. I don't get that. I mean, they're still working, making new games. Needlemouse is another way to show that. Can't stand when fanboys take control and start complaining about every little thing. Anyways, I'm just waiting to see how this develops. I'm not making any bets.

Personally, I think this game looks promising. What upsets me is that the nostalgia whores are finally getting why they've been whining for and they're still complaining, saying "it's going to be another Sonic Unleashed, just without the night stages". >=[ ...isn't that exactly what they were asking for before? SEGA can't please everyone; that's a fact, so of course they're going to focus on one audience which has always been the young boys. They need to understand that SEGA isn't making the games for them. SEGA is only trying to please as many people as they can. Going to back to Project Needlemouse, I think this game will be great like most Sonic games have been with the exception of a few flops here and there (mostly the Game Gear games and Shadow the Hedgehog which was more fan service than a game with a good storyline). I personally think this new game will be very good. ^^
As for the current title it's going by... Firstly, does anyone know who the game is being developed by? I can't help but wonder if the title was translated incorrectly as the words for "needle mouse" and "hedgehog" are the same in Japanese. X3 Just wondering...

Exactly. They've been asking for it for so long, and now they're getting it. Everyone wants what they don't have. One thing, though. I'm just hoping there will be a storyline in there somewhere. Not just thrown together. But, in a way to make it work. I don't mean for them to cram it in there.
I don't know who the developers are. I'm not sure if anyone (but SEGA, of course) knows. Well, SOA, anyway. And the name "Needlemouse" is very amusing if you think about it.
