For a serious battle (not a gym battle) you need a mod, three or more Pokémon, and your character also needs to be in a town.
The mod will watch your battle and judge it. The winner will depend on a who writes the most, who has the most detailed posts, and who actually wins the battle.

4. If you lose, your Pokémon have fainted so you cannot use them until you get to a hospital and refill their health!
