Well, yeah, I was excited. I loved it. Totally loved how it showed the whole other side to Rose. Blood whore or not, we still love her. And the glimer of hope we get close to the end, wow.

I loved Blood Promise. 4laugh It was really good. >o<
I loved how it showed Dimitri's family....a whole new Rose in that blood whore part....Lissa and Rose's friendship renewed....more Adrian....lol....and just meeting the new Dimitri(as a strigoi...)
I also liked hearing more about the effects of spirit. It was fascinating. mrgreen And Rose's dad!! it was actually surprising a bit....
it was cool. 3nodding

Oh really? When Rose and Abe met in the market place, when Rose was getting food or something for Dimitri's family, I actually guessed he was her father. Just his attitude. I was waiting for him to tell her when he gave her the scarf, but he didn't... so then her mom did. And I randomly go 'I KNEW IT'. My family was watching a movie and they all turn and go 'you knew what?'. Then I felt embarressed because they thought I was talking about the movie when I didn't give a crap about it.

I LUVED the book! =D Like, if it were the LAST book in the series I would call it crap. But knowing its the lead up to MORE I can actually understand that its better this way! So many ideas and new experiences! I would actually love it if they (Rose, Lissa and the rest) in the next book were experienting with the magic that turned strigoi back to ppl, and they were experimenting with Lissa's powers, i would have loved ROSE go through that! Say Rose becomes strigoi somehow, then the crew catches her inm a non-sufficient way and they turn her back! =D And then she'd tell of her experience! HOPLY s**t! HOW GOOD IS THAT IDEA???????? LOL. And I laughed heaps at the book! xDD There were some funny parts to it, with Rose and the dad xDD

i know i loved the book! my favorite part was when rose finally got to dimitri i was like omg i loved it except the blood whore thing. but i still love her! i loved it when *D* sent her the stake i waslike omg hes coming after her! mrgreen

Blood Promise was amazing!!! Come on she finally goes out on her own and into the world.... soo good. and the chapters of her and Dimitri!! Oh-MY-GODZ!!! And Zemy is soo funny!! and I love the end!! Cry-fest '09

The entire thing was one whole pointless, drabbling circle. She left the Academy and then, without anything significant happening, she returned. It started and ended in the exact same place.
Meeting Dimitri's family was to corny for me. Unrealistic. But then, I could say the same about the whole series. I'm a writer. I'm about as experienced as Mead and just as good but there is no way I'd dream of poublishing yet. I can still recognise the tell-tale markers of a bad book in my writing. Obviously she couldn't see it in her own.
But getting back on track, I thought the scarf was a stupid idea (Honestly? who has a scarf as a family heirloom?) and I agree with SecretKingdomKeeper. Abe being her dad was obvious. I knew it as soon as I read his name.
The fact that Rose didn't know what alchemy is was a bit idiotic too. Who doesn't know?
I did, however, love the ending. It reminded me of the ending to the 'Interview With a Vampire' movie. Brilliant, dark, foreboding and slightly predictable. When she was standing on the bridge I was confused. I thought she said she had missed his heart. Turns out she did. Mead could have written that better. She slipped in her own correction.
I digress: The fourth book was more of a fill-in than anything. It told you nothing and went nowhere in terms of plot. The small scrap of important information we recieved could have been said in three sentences in the beginning of the next book and could have been much more dramatic.

And another quick side note. On page 182 (One hundred and eighty two) Dimitri clearly states that he has family consisting of: Mother and two sisters.
I suppose Viktoria just popped out of the ground. And the night Dimitri and Rose had sex is a MAJOR plot hole. To realise this, you must take into account two things: 1. The moroi work on a nocturnal schedule. 2. Rose realised Lissa was missing at DINNER.
So, we can safely assume that it was dark - about five - six am (pm for them). The sun would have risen soon. Dimitri and Rose skipped off to the cabin not long after finding Lissa. They had sex, they loitered, then they got dressed and started walking back. Because this is after dinner we can assume it is 'night' for the moroi therefore the sun is out. And the Strigoi attack. Mead got confused with her own schedule. She screwed up. Big time.

Blood Promise was great. i cant wait to buy it. the only thing im upset about is that Dimka is a total jerk in this book. I cant wait till the next book comes out!!!
