September. The start of the Autumn season. The start of a new school year, and inevitably, new roommate assignments. And since Rea had been living for the past month without one, that meant she was included in that unfortunate group.

Her roommate had transferred out of Crystal nearly a month ago, now. She had been a sweet girl -- really shy. At the time she had moved in, Rea hadn't been sure how things would go. For about a month they had sat in silence, generally pretending the other didn't exist. And the one day... it changed. The eldest Marshall girl couldn't remember what had happened, or who had initiated it, but soon they were not only on speaking terms, but they had become close friends. They had reached an understanding. Rea had been surprised to find how much she liked the company of someone who didn't need a response, someone who could just sense that she wasn't being rude on purpose. It was... comforting. With the discovery of Sailor Pegasus came the inevitable secret identity leak, that too became a comfort. Someone knew, someone understood, and that was enough.

But then, just like that, she was gone. The only person, as far as she knew, who had known about Sailor Pegasus, had left Destiny City. From a logical standpoint, it had made things quite a bit easier -- jumping out of windows in the middle of the night generally isn't typical roommate behavior. And if it is, you probably want to call the police. Or the asylum. From an emotional one, now that her confidant was gone... she found she was lonely.

Sitting at the window seat, Rea let out a soft, barely audible sigh, her expression a little dark as she waited. She was sure things would be interesting. Whether or not it was a good interesting remained to be seen.

Honestly, Eve was excited. It was terribly easy for her to be friendly with her roommates and it was usually not long that they became friends. After all, she thought of almost anyone she met as a friend. The prospect of having a new roommate, and therefore, making a new friend brightened up her day.

Packing up and leaving her house had been a rather dismaying thing however. Firstly, she and her mother had come to a decision that she couldn't fit everything she wanted to bring into her bag and she had to pack the necessities before being allowed to throw in other outfits. Mother had reassured her that she could come back anytime; that they were all still living in Destiny City, and Eve had to say goodbye to her garden. It was a bit sad, truthfully, but the optimistic girl soon got over it. School would be fun; she could see her friends again, make new ones. Besides, she had already made a friend that she wanted to see while in Crystal.

And so, with a cream leather bag on one shoulder that was simply bulging with her things and a purse clutched in the other hand, Eve burst into the room and smiled merrily at the girl whose room she would be sharing. "Hi! I'm your new roommate!" Realizing she was stating the obvious, the blonde chuckled, dropped her bag on the floor next to where she assumed would be her bed, trying not to wince as it landed with a rather large thump. She skipped over to where the girl sat and held out a palm. "I'm Eve Summers! Pleased to meet you!"

Upon the first moment the door opened, Rea stared at the blonde girl, watching her quite literally burst into the room, then skip towards her. Oh. This was going to be interesting.

For quite a few moments the air was still, Rea still staring in mild disbelief and confusion at the perky girl, her eyes traveling slowly down towards the hand. For those few seconds, which felt like an eternity to the redhead, she could not comprehend what the girl wanted. It was as if her brain had shut off, overwhelmed and overheated by the enthusiasm which was her new roommate. While her old one had been unbearably shy, this girl seemed to have no qualms about saying hello, to put it mildly.

Regaining her thought process, Rea glanced back up at Eve, quirking an eyebrow at her and giving her a skeptical, slightly quizzical look, extending her hand and taking Eve's slowly. "Rea Marshall," She replied, wondering for a moment what else to say. Eve had already stated the obvious -- she was her new roommate. A 'nice to meet you too' was probably suppose to be in order, but again, Rea found herself dumbfounded into silence.

Glancing at the bag the other girl had dumped, Rea stood politely, motioning towards it with her eyes.

"New to Crystal?"

A full body appraisal told Eve everything she needed to know; the other's stance seemed rather rigid and er...shocked. Was that her fault? It could be. Still, not those particularly talkative types (like her!) which was a bit of a pity, but it was fine! Eve could deal with the shy types. She had much experience after all, in the art of conversation.

She gave a brisk nod, acknowledging the name. Rea! That was a nice name indeed. Short and sweet, like hers! She gave Rea a nice firm handshake, remembering what father had told her about how handshakes affected first impressions.

"Oh," She began, glancing back at her bag and fluffed her hair rather sheepishly. "Sorry about that; couldn't exactly decide what to bring back here besides all the necessary stuff. And well, I'm new in this room!" Blue eyes twinkled as she sat on a corner of one of the beds. "Well, I guess we've never seen each other before, maybe only in passing, but the school's so big that it's inevitable that will happen right? Like how I met this Crystal girl, Kala, the other day, and we had never bumped into each other in school before even though we totally bonded over a good shopping trip. Fate is really such a strange thing." She shook her head from side to side, smiling dreamily, then turned her attention to Rea abruptly, a bright smile plastered on her face. "So, Rea! What do you do? I mean, like, any activities you participate in? I'm a dancer, and well, just one of the average ones. Not as talented as those who get in on scholarships, y'know?"

Although Rea was a little taken aback at first by Eve's strong personality, it didn't take long for her to regain herself, relaxing and taking in what the girl had to offer. She seemed to be nice enough, not at all bossy or rude, (so far,) and her hand shake was strong and warm, (not at all like those prissy girl handshakes,) so at the moment Rea was more intrigued than wary.

Peering over the girl's shoulder as she glanced back at her bag, the redheaded girl tilted her head a little, quirking an eyebrow questioningly at the apology. "Why are you sorry?" She started curiously, shaking her head a little and offering a small, amused smile, "You have nothing to be sorry about."

Making her way over to her own bed, Rea sat down with a little bounce on the fluffy mattress, watching Eve quietly as she talked. She didn't doubt in the least that it was possible, and likely, to not have met someone already at Crystal. Especially with Rea's kind of personality. She didn't exactly have a bubbly one. In fact, she didn't really get along with most of the prissy Crystal girls... Eve though... seemed different. She didn't seem snobby at all. In fact, she seemed to genuinely want to be her friend. Which was uncommon, at least from what she had seen. Much of Crystal was about networking -- many friendships were started on the thought 'where can this friendship get me in the long run?'

Eve was certainly interesting. Definitely piqued her interest. She'd have to watch her.

Blinking in surprise, Rea was startled out of her reverie when the word dancer reached her ears, her posture going a little more rigid than it had been a few moments before.

"You're a dancer?" She replied curiously, tilting her head, even more interested than before, "I'm not sure how we've managed to miss each other all this time -- I'm a dancer too."

Eve practically beamed a bright smile back at Rea's reply, her face aglow with delight. Wasn't this just perfect? She had the luck to be roomed with another nice roommate this year! Really, Eve thanked her lucky stars that she wasn't stuck with someone she couldn't get along...not that there were many that fell into that category. Honestly, no matter what, Eve liked to find a way to get others to open up and talk to her. And it was usually the annoying talkative way she used.

"You do?" Eve squealed, following Rea's lead to sit...well, in her case, kneel on her own bed, tucking her legs underneath her as she bounced on the mattress. "Oh my...I can't believe it either! I can't have spaced out during dance practice that badly, or did I?" The last sentence was made mostly to herself and blue eyes fixed upon her roommate's face. Hmm...maybe she did seem a bit familiar...or was that just her imagination?

Rea couldn't help but relax, Eve's bright smile and easy-going attitude quickly becoming contagious. How was she suppose to be wary when the blonde girl was positively beaming at her? Perhaps fighting the negaverse had made her too paranoid -- Eve seemed like a genuinely friendly person. In fact, the oldest Marshall girl was surprised at how quickly she was opening up to her new roommate. Perhaps there was more to this girl than what met the eye.

At the squeal, however, the redheaded girl jumped back a little, startled. Spoke too soon. "No no, I don't dance for Crystal," She replied a little hastily, surprised at how readily Eve seemed to blame herself, "It always seems to conflict with lacrosse practice, so I have to dance at the Destiny City Center for the Arts."

Eying Eve skeptically, Rea went quiet, just watching the girl who would be her roommate curiously.

"That's too bad." Eve murmured, sinking down on the mattress, leaning backwards to lie on it with a soft 'flump', staring up at the ceiling. "I guess that attributes to why I haven't exactly seen you before. I don't really go to the Destiny Center of the Arts. Maybe," At this, she shot up from her position, blue eyes glinting at Rea with joy at the idea that had came to her, "you can bring me there some day! And show me your moves. It'll be fun!"

It wouldn't be so bad, right? She could easily make time from a busy school schedule to have some fun. Moreover, it was good to build bonds with roommates. There was absolutely no way Eve would entertain the thought of living with someone she wasn't familiar with.

The strawberry-blonde girl relaxed, lulled into the false sense of quiet that Eve had shifted into. Slowly she leaned back a bit also, resting her weight on her palms, staring at the ceiling in quiet meditation also while she listened to the blonde girl talk. Yes, it was a shame she wasn't in the dance program at the school, she thought with a hint of surprise. Perhaps if she had been, she would have met Eve before, something that, upon first impression Rea wouldn't have thought to be an amazing thing, but little by little she was starting to enjoy the girl's bright attitude.

The Marshall girl was just starting to think that Eve had run out of things to say when suddenly she was up, the calm broken by her excited exclamation. Once again Eve startled her, jumping a little as the blonde girl sat up so quickly, Rea's eyes wide for a few minutes before smiling a little, shaking her head. She just wouldn't quit, would she? It was cute.

"Yeah, alright," She replied after a few moments, resting back on her palms again, watching her new roommate and marveling at her spunk. So it wasn't her, per se, but Rea was starting to think that maybe, just maybe, things weren't as terrible as she had thought. Suddenly, she didn't feel as glum as she had before the bright eyed Eve had waltzed into the room. And, in a way, into her life.

"Yay!" Eve clapped her hands together with a happy sigh as she let herself fall back on her bed again, head tilting over to where Rea lay. "Promise?" She absolutely refused to let an opportunity like this go, for who knew how busy their school schedules would get and they might forget it entirely or even make up excuses...well, Eve herself certainly wouldn't!

...Perhaps she should put it down on her schedule as a reminder. Hmmmmmmm, yes. That would be best!

Maybe later though, Eve decided. Lying here was too nice, and she felt terribly lazy at the moment to get up and unpack her things. There was always time later! The first day was meant to be relaxed, where everyone started to settle in and got to know new people in the school while adjusting to the new school year's requirements.
