Lerato De Clement (It’s Latin, and loosely means ’song of my soul the kind and merciful’)

Physical Description:
Lerato was born in Greece, but spent most of his life traveling the world. He stands six feet tall and two hundred and fifty pounds with a fairly muscular build. His skin has a light olive coloring to it which stands in bright contrast to his magnificently blue eyes. His silver hair usually falls to his shoulders, though he has been known to go on rants about it falling into his face. After his rants he cuts his hair off. He is a strong bodied individual who tends to demand respect from everyone regardless of their status. Though sometimes overly cocky in his movements, they are always powerful, swift, and precise. Since he is fresh out of the academy he tends to wear the usual attire of the shinigami, though he has been known to wear a light blue color scheme
Sealed Zanpukato: Achieved 6/1/09
Sealed Zanpukato: A three and a half foot, two-sided katana with a sixteen inch hilt. The blade itself looks like squelched titanium which gives it a rainbow-like appearance. The hilt is wrapped in white leather, then tied with a blue fabric that is woven in such a manner that it makes it as tough as steel. At the end of the blade is a small loop cut into the titanium-like metal where a chain could be attached to. He fights right handed.

Release Command: Kabau Hogosha! (Protect them Protector)
When Lerato releases his shikai, an electric blue halo appears above his head formed of extremely condensed reiatsu. His blade lengthens another half foot and the blue fabric wraps up his arm to make it an extension of his body. He can however, take the blade off manually for a different fighting style. Oddly enough, to use his Shikai, Lerato must first slice his hand open with his zanpukato to offer blood as a payment of using its powers. He fights right handed.
Bankai Release: Achieved
Bankai True Name: Zennouno Kami Jieminiha Musubi Tsukeru! (The Almighty Gemini Twins)
When Lerato releases his bankai, two angelic imps materialize in the air on either side of him. They are made from light being reflected off of water molecules in the air and are given physical substance by a greatly increased reiatsu of their own. The imps both have face guards of squelched titanium and gold, as well as a shield which they hold on opposite sides of their bodies. Once summoned these imps can bombard the opponent with both light and water based attacks as well as actual swordplay. Each of the imps has their own broadsword. Lerato then gains angelic-like wings and his eyes take on an ethereal appearance. He also gains a shield on his left arm.
Special Accessories:
A ring that is a reiatsu copy of one that his father gave to him while they were both alive. He keeps it even now as a constant reminder of the things he had to go through. It fills him with hope when no other hope can be seen. A reminder of his morals and ethics, it can be said that this ring keeps him both sane and under control when he gets angry. He keeps the ring on a chain which hangs on his neck at all times.
Skills:
He’s an incredibly fast learner. He was one of the strongest in his class at the academy, as well as one of the fastest, but he always lacked concentration which affected his usage of Kido. When he was alive he practiced all forms of martial arts, but once he passed on they all seemed to blend together. He can go for days without sleep because he tends to meditate when ever there is a moment that he isn’t with others. He also practices gymnastics.
Abilities:
He has extraordinarily high reiatsu detection. It’s been that way since he was born. People often called him crazy because he saw people who had died. They also thought he was extremely clumsy, which is correct to a point. He was able to see his soul ribbon and the soul chains of those who were on their last leg. They were what he was constantly tripping over. While at the academy he learned the required Kido, though once he graduated he only bothered practicing those he found useful and forgot the rest. He's also an excellent swordsman.
Personality:
Lerato can be cocky because he was one of the higher students in his class, however that does not mean he is arrogant. He’s friendly, and loves to entertain people. He also loves a challenge which means he will usually seek out fights with seated members just so he can try to improve his own fighting. He also likes to hang around the captains so he can just listen to them. He has always believed that those who hold authority over you hold it for a reason, because they are stronger but more importantly, because they are wiser. When in training or in battle he is very serious and will do what ever it takes to win in the long run, even if it means pulling out before the battle is over. He is fiercely loyal and will never leave someone behind, even if that person is believed to be ‘lower’ or the enemy. He refuses to kill anyone, unless it’s a lower ranking hollow that doesn’t have the intelligence enough to submit. Otherwise he believes all intelligent beings disserve to live, regardless of their past crimes.
Biography/History:
Living History:
Lerato was born just outside of Athens, Greece. However, he and his parents moved shortly after his second birthday and started traveling the world. During his childhood he lived in Italy, France, and Germany. Once he was five years old when his parents moved to the orient and he started to learn various martial arts. Eight
years of tedious training later and he was told that he had learned all that he was going to from the masters, and that the rest would come from practice, and meditation. On his way home he saw animals frantically running for shelter. When he had reached his home in the village he was devastated to find it up in flame. A lone tear ran down his cheek as he watched the flames engulf his very being. Everything had been taken from him now… everything but the ring his father had given him on his tenth birthday. He decided from that point on he would travel the world and defend people.
After the death of his parents he flew to the only family he knew so he could live with them, his aunt and uncle in America. It had taken him all the money his parents had left in a trust fund, and a lot of talking for him to be able to make it, but he ended up successful. It was soon after that he started his new life of protection. It was far from easy sailing though since odd occurrences kept happening around him. He started hearing and seeing the deceased. He told his uncle this but was only met with laughter, then concern which led to him being sent to an insane asylum. A year later he was released, though the sights and sounds didn’t leave. On top of that people started seeing him as the clumsy insane kid. He would always be falling over something that other people wouldn’t see, chains connected to people’s chests and ribbons that were suspended from the sky and hung to the ground. Because of this he didn’t have many friends, and he wouldn’t make any of the sports teams despite his obvious athletic stature. Then, a few weeks after his sixteenth birthday, a few kids at his school brought guns. They were terrorizing the other students, killing them without mercy. After ten minutes the students made their way to where Lerato’s class was. They proceeded to kick down the door, but by this time Lerato was to his feet and was charging at the students. He was shot five times before he fell. Lerato fell to his knees, the only thing keeping him up still was the adrenaline which pumped through his veins which refused for him to die. In one last delusional effort for justice, Lerato pulled the silk ribbons that hung loosely around the culprits, ripping the ribbons in two. Lerato died that afternoon from severe gunshot trauma and loss of blood; the two students also died that night, though the cause still remains unknown.
Soul Society history:
Lerato awoke after what seemed like an eternity in a place foreign to him. Strangers surrounded him on both sides, gawking at him like he was some kind of mutant. “Do you mind?” He asked, sitting up. He felt strange, lighter, and much hungrier then he should have been. The clothes he had died with were gone, replaced by rags that looked to be better suited for someone from Feudal Japan. It only took a few days of him eating the district out of house and home for his ‘family’ to tell him to go to the Sereitei. Once there he explained his situation to the gate-keeper and was escorted to the Shinigami Academy.
Since that time he has risen through the ranks to become the lieutenant of first squad, an honor that he holds in the highest regard.

9. Hit Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them.
Reason for preference: He seems to be extremely skilled at these particular kidou. Bakudo number 8 seems especially responsive to his reiatsu.

4. White Lightening The user fires a concentrated, powerful lightning bolt from their finger
Shikai Achieved
-Wash: A powerful wave of water is sent hurdling at his opponent.
-Wash away the Sins: A more powerful form of wash, this attack creates four waves that come from all four diagonals, while at the same time producing a light that is bright enough to leave his opponent temporarily blind.
-Divine Lightening: Gathers water molecules into a path after which he gathers light energy and his own reiatsu and sends them both at an opponent through the water molecules creating a dazzling light show as well as an extremely powerful shock. However this causes Lerato pain of his own, so he uses it only as a last ditch effort.
-Angelic Blast: Similar to Hado #4 White Lightening, Angelic Blast concentrates reiatsu and blasts it from the tip of his blade.
-Blind: His zanpukato disintegrates, but in its place leaves a blinding light as if someone were to be looking upon a divine being. (strictly a defensive move) It is recalled at the command of (Give them sight).
-Hermes Shunpo : Lerato gains very small flares of brightly colored and highly visible reiatsunear his ankles which are trademark of the Greek God of Speed, Hermes. Lerato condenses so much of his reiatsu into his feet that he is able to gain speeds far above that of a vice-captain's shunpo. (He is left extremely drained after this manuever and left without much energy to attack)
Bankai Achieved
-Shine: Lerato draws in his reiatsu and forces it into his blade which in turn attracts reishi (spirit particles) to it. When this happens his attacks strengthen ten fold above that of his normal bankai and when another blade comes in contact with his, it blasts out a powerful wave of reiatsu.
-Divine Rain: A maneuver in which Lerato’s zanpukato disintegrates, taking a large amount of his reiatsu with it, and spreads it amongst his fallen comrades to aid in healing or in their own offensive tactics. The downside is he is left weaponless and with little reiatsu to help him block attacks. He is open to attacks. (The two angel imps disappear with the usage of this technique.)
-Purge: A one word command that sends a cannon of water at the enemy.
-Divine Pull: The opposite of Hadou #1 Thrust. Lerato points either his hand or zanpukato at the opponent and uses a kido type ability to pull the opponent towards him at a shunpo-like speed, throwing off most attacks as well as disrupting most defensive stances. (Would first have to train with Kido teachers and would only be able to perform this once he has learned all the kidos since it is a kido based attack.)
-Seek Retribution: Lerato sends a massive wave of rainbow colored reiatsu off in all directions which purifies the area and stops kido up to level 40 and significantly slows down the rest. This exhausts a large amount of his energy and reiatsu and in rare circumstances causes him injury as wells as making him fall unconcious occassionally.
-Angelic Blast of the Highest Order: A more powerful form of Angelic Blast in which Lerato's reiatsu nearly goes out then spikes much higher then it normally is. While this is happening he has one hand raised towards the sky, concentrating light and water to the point it creates a bolt of lightening which hits him. As soon as the lightening hits his hand, it releases his spiked reiatsu through his raised zanpukato and fires an Angelic Blast at the opponent which takes the form as a fully armored Angelic Imp flying at the target. (incantation to come later, as will the dangers of using this move)
-Shikai Attacks: All of the attacks that come along with his shikai only intensified.
