I like to hear other's politcal view & weather its persuaded by their religion or lack of religion.

My husband & I identify as socialists (quite militant) and since most Americans have an irrational fear of socialism - i settle for democratic xD

I have been this way since I got interested in politics, when i was about 17. And through Christianity & Islam, i still agree with socialism.

Whats your political view?
Was this view influenced by your religion or lack of religion?

My political view is completely undefinable. I'm pro-gun, anti gun registry, pro death penalty(although I have a unique spin on that one), pro-choice, pro drugs and pro capitalism.(i do however accept that the entire system has to crash and be rebuilt. rather than being patched up.) Oddly though as, much as, I disagree with socialized heath care, I definitely do enjoy it's benefits here in Canada. I can understand why through Christianity and Islam you would find socialism appealing, it comes from those two religions being big on helping the poor and living together.

I think my world view is based alot on my religion but I was Satanic while pretending to be Christian so my religion might be based on my world view. my issue with this is that it makes it damn near impossible to vote in my county because no one else supports my particular set of values.

Honestly, if you lived in a country without socialized healthcare - you would be singing a different tune. So many jobs dont offer it - and individual healthcare (especially for a couple or family) can cost as much as an apartment.

We live in fear of getting a serious illness, it only takes 1 hospital visit to leave us homeless.

Also, most Christians are not for socialism, they prefer to be Conservative Republicans. Who look out for theirself & dont mind the integration of church and state.

Most Muslims do agree with Democratic ways, since they want American troops the hell out of Afghanistan.

Trust me. It's not too different for low-income people in a country with this system (our is 20 years old though). I get any kind of injury or illness i don't get paid because i have no health benefits. perscription drugs still cost money.

No real christian should be pro capitalism at all. Christ preached helping the poor, feeding the poor and caring for the sick.

lol. i wonder why.

Now, lets discuss that error mrgreen
Most Christians i have met (I live in Georiga, there is 3 churches per street) have not even read the Bible. They sit in church, listening to their preacher. He could be telling them BS like the Phelps Church, they dont care.

'Real Christians' are like finding a needle in a haystack mate.
It's sad.

I think that the real sad part is that a Satanists knows the differance between a lip-service "christian" and an actual folower of Jesus of Nazareth. although i'll be honest i like phelps he is posibly the biggest idiot i have ever watched and listend to but at least he's got fire, and conviction.

I'm a liberal Democrat. You could probably call me a socialist communist also. Because I believe in Marx's theories and I believe everyone should have health care and the government should do it's actual job, which is helping it's people. neutral

The funny thing is that, if Phelps was a true Christian he would realize that Paul and Jesus both said that loving thy neighbor is the greatest commandment to follow next to loving God. neutral So Apple is correct.

Phelps believes that by using his shock and awe or fire and brimstone mesage he is in fact lovign his neighbor. He believes that he and his church are helping by warning the sinful against the fires of hell. Misguided, yes. Wrong, not so sure. I find it odd though that a religious person could support Marx considering his views on religion Tsukiyo.

Now that is where you're wrong. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't make me religious. neutral In fact I don't believe in going to Church. neutral

I can see why you wouldn't go to church, but why arent you religious?
Isnt that...the point of religion?

When it comes to Christians, people think being religious means going to Church every Friday, Sunday and Wednesday and that they believe in the Bible literally.

I don't do either so by someone else's definition, I'm not religious. I haven't really read the Bible much besides looking up verses. >.<

I'm a fascist who finds the iconography of military dictatorships pretty awesome. The only way to get people in a nation to work together for the betterment of that nation is to force them. No one agrees with my political views.

'nuff said.
