This is the room where Aloe Tsuwamono and James Zachary Garath reside.

Like every other room in the Dango dormitories, this one is designed solely to provide the basics - two simple beds adjacent to opposite walls, each with light blue freshly washed sheets (if smelled closely, a vague scent of magnolia could be sensed), between the beds a wide wooden desk with two chair behind it. Above the desk, a wide window is placed, providing sufficient light for work. Each of the students residing in the room is also provided a closet, the two of them placed to the right from the entrance.

Students might decorate the room to their liking. The rooms are spacious, so they can also add some smaller pieces of furniture. The basic furniture that each room has must not be changed irreversebly or otherwise damaged.

Aloe entered the room ahead of James, leaving the door open for him to come through after. She headed straight for one of the beds, not thinking of deciding which one she would actually have, but rather just wanting to sit down. She drifted towards the bed on the left side and sat neatly on it, putting her books down beside her. In the relatively private room she sighed softly and relaxed properly. She still managed to keep smiling naturally as she let her nerves express themselves. For the most part she was giddy with excitement but also a little nervous about the classes to come.

Taking off her shoes and leaving them at the base of the bed for the moment, Aloe crossed her legs on the bed and looked around. She admired the walls, the window and the furniture. Basic as it all was, it felt rather special to her since it was going to be her home for however long she was going to be at the academy.

'A rather nice first day.'
Aloe thought silently as she looked around, 'And I probably couldn't have asked for a better room-mate. Its been a lucky start.'

James wasn't far behind Aloe as she entered their new room. Looking around he saw that it had a good bit of space to it, but was very basic and kind of bare, like he guessed it would be. He saw the closets and decided to check them out, finding full sets of the school uniform that they would be wearing. "Separate closets so that will get rid of most space issues, and our uniforms are already in here. If I remember correctly, the blue is for guys to wear, and red is for the ladies," James said excited about the uniforms. Now he would get to feel like he was actually part of something big.

Afterwards, James walked over to the bed on the right and kind of collapsed on it. It was a bit of an emotionally taxing day, and he managed to not only stay under control, but also become friends with his roommate.

"So Aloe, are you excited about classes tomorrow? I know I am." His voice was as calm and warm as ever as he continued to lie on his bed.

Aloe picked up her diary and got up off the bed to rummage through the desk between the beds. Once she found a pen, she sat back on the bed and opened up her diary on her lap. Flicking the pages ahead so the first few pages would remain blank, she put the pen to paper and started writing down the events of today and her thoughts on them.

As she wrote in the diary, Aloe replied to James with a bright smile on her face, but remained looking down at the pages as she talked. "Yes, i'm very excited about classes. I just hope I can get enough rest with all this anticipation." Possibly the only outward hints of Aloe's excitement would be the speed of which she jots down her thoughts in the diary, and her energetic voice. Otherwise, she was proving that she could hold down her excitement quite well.

This is what Aloe wrote in her diary, keeping it hidden from James' view:

{Aloe Tsuwamono's diary entry. First day of shinigami academy. For no one to read without permission.

This first day has been, interesting. The opening ceremony was nice and the teachers all looked interesting. All rather diverse too. I swear I thought one was talking in three different voices.
Said hello to a few fellow students. Tried to help in a confrontation, but had to leave before I could tell if I had helped at all or not. Must add that what the person said to that other student really annoyed me.
Everyone seems nice though. I hope everyone gets along. After all, we're all here for the same reasons, I think.
Lessons start tommorow. I'm really looking forward to them. Don't know what the first class will be, but anything will be good. I almost can't sit still with all this anxiety.
I better go to sleep.
Oh, almost forgot to mention my room-mate. Nice guy. Its weird and great at the same time that we seem to have similar ideals. I think i'm going to get along with him just fine.
The rooms also nice too. Lots of space and a window.

Until next time. End of Aloe Tsuwamono's diary entry.}

Once Aloe finished writing in her diary, she closed the book and put the other one on top of it. She took a quick look around for anywhere that could be considered a hiding place to put her book, but there wasn't anywhere she could see right now. The closet would have to do, so she got up and put her two books in there. Hopefully no one would be rude enough to go poking around in her closet anyway.
Aloe then went back to her bed and laid down. "Guess we better get some sleep before tommorow, don't you think?" She asked James absentmindedly. As she listened for a reply she was already drifting to sleep easily and missed what James would say, if he said anything.

James was slowly drifting off to sleep as he was relaxing on his bed. With his legs still hanging off the edge, he removed his shoes, and made some small attempt at organizing them at the foot of the bed without watching his feet do the work. Disappointed, he sat up and actually aligned them before pulling out his paper for writing home and set it upon the desk. There was so much that he wanted to write, but at the same time little that he could actually write about so far. It made his decision about staying up a little longer to write a bit easier.

Sorry, sis, I'll write to you tomorrow. There should be a lot more to say after the first day of class, he thought with a small yawn. This time he stretched back out fully on the bed, and it was about this time that Aloe got up to put away her diary.

"Yeah, we should," James responded with his eyes already closed. "Good night, Aloe." Soon after that, James was sound alseep, complete with dreams of success and trials to overcome.

Aloe yawned as she was torn from her sleep by the morning light coming through the window. Her sleep had been dreamless, probably because the only reason she fell asleep was because she wanted the next day to come faster. She slowly pushed herself up to sit on the bed and looked around the room as memories that slipped away during her time asleep came back.

"It must be morning." Aloe thought, "Better get up and get ready. I think they mentioned a uniform. I better put that on." She gets up off the bed and stops as she sees the other bed with James on it. For a moment she almost forgot she had a room-mate now, since she was used to sleeping in a room by herself. Shrugging it off as something she'll get used to eventually, Aloe left James alone and went to her closet. As expected, she found the uniform. Red for the girls, just like she remembered being told. She took one of the uniforms out and gave it a quick look over. "Great, its just like what i already wear." She thought with a smile. Before she considered changing into it though, Aloe looked over to James again to see if he was waking or not.
Even though she could change into the uniform quickly, it would be embarrassing if James woke up while she was in a state of undress, so she of course held off changing for a little bit until she could be sure she could avoid such embarrassment.

Hearing a knock on the door though, Aloe decided to risk it. If she left the room without changing, she probably wouldn't find the time to come back. That definitly wouldn't be a good impression to make on the first lesson. She quickly changes into the uniform, only being undressed for less than a second as she rushed. Once it was on, she gave it a once over to make sure it was on neatly and tidied her hair a little before leaving the room. She closed the door a little harder than normal to make a noise, just in case James still needed waking after all that.

James awoke violently to the sound of the door shutting, and looked around the room to find that it was already empty. "Crap... don't tell me I'm late," he said to himself as he hopped out of the bed and walked to the closet. The uniform was similar to traditional japanese garb, and seemed to be of very good quality. He paused for a moment to listen for any sounds outside that would signal someone was going to come in, but after he heard nothing of the like, he began to change.

Once he was out of his old clothes, he began to put on the new uniform checking off each piece as he donned it. Socks, check; shitagi, check; kisode, check; hakama... check; and now for the sandals. Afterwards, he double checked that the belt was tied neatly, then ran his hands through his hair quickly to get rid of any bed hair he might have at the moment. "Ah, the perks of having fine hair, even in a rush it is easy to deal with," he chuckled to himself, admiring the luck of his genes.

Opening the door, he looked around and didn't see anyone, once again adding more fuel to the mental fire that he believed he was late for the first day of class. "s**t, s**t... not good..." he muttered as he quickly shut the door and ran towards the classroom, both eager and upset with himself.

[Exits to Theory Classroom]

Aloe gently opened the door to the room, carrying the book from the theory class and the various notes she had made. On her way to the room, she had taken a glance at the billboard. She now knew another class would start soon, so she didn't have time to sit and read the book right now.
Closing the door behind her, Aloe went to her closet and placed the book in there for now. For a moment, her eyes fell on her diary and she felt a slight urge to write an entry in it. She quickly dismissed it though, as she probably didn't have time to sit and write in it right now. She neatly put her notes on top of her diary and the other book she brought with her, and put the theory book by itself next to the other books.

With the book properly stored now, Aloe thought about the lesson. Should she go now? Or wait a bit to say hi to James if he came back.
'I did sort of leave him on his own last lesson. But then i don't want to be late twice in a row.'
After a short while, Aloe settled on leaving now and saying hi during the lesson if she could. With that, she stepped out the door, closing it behind her and heading to the next lesson.
'Now. Where is the classroom?' She asked herself.
