Private roleplay between Rory (Jynk) and Lee & Mrs. Katan (epicZILLA)... possibly Lauss, too.
Location: Lee's vardo at Farstep.
Time: Early morning.

Rory stood at the small stove, flipping pancakes and keeping an eye on the bacon frying up in the other pan. He sipped at his coffee, looking back at the beautiful girl sleeping in the bed. La, but she was gorgeous in the morning before waking. Rory doubted she could ever be unattractive in his eyes.
He turned his attention back to the food, plating the pancakes that were done and pouring more batter in the pan. He was saving the eggs till Lee woke.

Lee rolled onto her stomach, her face buried in a pillow, still half asleep as the smell of breakfast lingered around her. It was much too early to be awake, and she simply wanted to continue the nice dream she was having. What was happening in it again? She remembered Rory was there... Wait, Rory slept over last night, didn't he? Propping her head up, she glanced over toward the stove to see the boy himself, in all his shirtless glory. Not bothering to keep herself from staring, she eventually uttered a short, "Morning," before sitting up and rubbing her cheek.
Lauss was no where to be found, having woken up much earlier than his master before bugging Rory a bit and heading out to catch up on exploring the carnival.
Lee had forgotten, for the moment, about the visitor that was sure to come today. Indeed, a storm happened to be brewing near the entrance of Farstep, slowly working its way to Lee's vardo.

"G'mornin', me love," Rory said, eyes still on breakfast cooking. "Sleep well, did you?" He cast her a glance, smiling as if it were every bit of normal he was here and making breakfast. "Your Lauss got up early an' went t' hae a look about th' grounds. It's just us fae now."

Lee smiled back at him, having never woken up to a better sight: an attractive young man making her pancakes and bacon. Pulling her legs off the bed and letting them dangle for a moment, she started to answer his question. "Yeah, it was--" Gasping loudly with her hands flying up to her mouth, she stood on her feet, staring over at the door. Her mother was coming. "She hasn't been here yet, right? My mother didn't already come, did she?" Lee hurried over to her drawer of clothes, rummaging through it and finding a suitable outfit. She half wished the woman had already come, that she'd heard Lee was sleeping and would decide to come back later.

"Nae 'un's visited, Lee," Rory answered, sipping his coffee and tending to the pancakes, having moved the bacon over to a plate to cool. "When's she supposed t' be here?"

"Ummm... Well, I just know she likes finishing all her errands early in the morning. I dunno when exactly." Lee's voice was rushed and almost panicked. Scurrying over to the bed again, she set down her clothes and, without realizing exactly what she was doing, started to get ready, pulling off her pajamas and hurrying into the clothes she'd picked out. She was fully aware that Rory was there and that she was naked, but didn't seem to be putting the two fact together.

Rory stopped what he was doing, eyes glued to what Lee was currently involved in, mouth slightly agape. He hadn't thought she could be any lovelier than he'd already seen, but he'd been wrong. "Gods..."
A pop of bacon grease to his arm brought his attention sharply around and he cursed softly, both from the sting of the grease burning him and from his own maleness of having stared at Lee rather than avert his eyes to give her privacy. He reached for the eggs almost blindly, intent on keeping his gaze locked to finishing cooking breakfast.

Pulling her skirt up and buttoning up the last of her blouse, Lee hurried over to the mirror, primping her hair and trying to make it look as respectable as she could without having had a shower. Obviously, it never occurred to her that she'd just put on a show for Rory, and what's worse is that, at that moment, she probably wouldn't have cared. Satisfied with her appearance, she turned to face Rory once more, peeking over his shoulder at the food. "I should set the table, right?" Hurrying over to the cupboards, she got to work.

"Y-yeah," the boy managed to get out, not looking at her. His cheeks were bright pink with his embarrassment, freckles standing out perfectly against the rosy hue his face seemed to be taking on.

Lee was surprisingly efficient, if not completely spacey, when under stress, and had finished setting the table perfectly in very little time. She's taken it upon herself to tidy up the vardo as best she could, faintly hearing a knock on the door as she turned to make the bed. "Could you get that?" Somehow, by some miracle, it didn't register that the knock was her mother's, and Lee continued fluffing pillows and pulling at sheets.

Rory nodded, though didn't notice if Lee saw or not, he walked over and opened the door and looked down at the woman on the other side. He leaned in the doorway, sipping his coffee, and regarded her with his colorless eyes. "G'morn. Wee early fae an outsider t' be skitterin' th' camps, 'specially in finery as yours. Donnae tell me, though. I can guess. You be Mrs. Katan, yeah? La, but I see where me girl gets her bonny looks from." He sipped his coffee again, completely casual as if he'd always been a fixture there in Lee's life.

The woman standing below Rory, indeed Mrs. Katan, fell uncharacteristically silent, her eyes wide, jaw nearly dropped, and the clutch she'd been holding fallen to the ground. This was the wrong home. It had to be. But... the boy had known her name. Oh, god... This shirtless, casual pikey was most definitely the "Rory" she'd heard about. Putting a hand to her forehead, she felt quite faint, closing her eyes as she attempted to bring herself back from an oncoming panic attack.
Lee's eyes widened, suddenly realizing who was at the door. Rushing to Rory's side, she covered her mouth as she saw her mother in a rather... vulnerable state. "What'd you say to her?" she whispered to Rory, more shocked than upset. "H-hello, mother..." The woman was quite predictable, having shown up almost exactly when expected, but Lee had never seen her so flustered that she looked as if she'd faint.

"Didnae say much, just a greetin' an' sayin' how I see where you got your looks, me girl," Rory said, moving back into the vardo. "Brekkie's about done. Might as well see if your mum wants coffee or milk."

Blinking and watching Rory move back inside, Lee was a bit speechless herself, finally stepping down to help her mother inside, a very lost expression on both their faces. "You want anything?" "Don't bother," Were the first words to leave the woman's mouth. Sitting her mother down in the closest seat, Lee stepped back, hunched over a bit, almost as if she were trying to hide. A short moment of silence followed, and Lee looked over her mother, much in the same way she'd done when her father showed up the day before. While he looked older and worn, Mrs. Katan actually looked healthier, younger even.
"Lee, what are you doing?" the woman finally looked at her daughter, tilting her head, her voice full of shame. After the girl didn't answer, she continued. "You're trying to get back at me, right? This is some kind of revenge, yes? Well, you've had your fun. Fun with that... Faolan fellow, this Rory..." she gestured to Rory with disgust and finished, "...And, god, who knows how many others." She closed her eyes, sighing deeply, never more ashamed of her daughter than at that moment.
