But yep, looks like Sega's been listening to the cries for a new 2D Sonic, and next year the blue blur should be taking it old-school in a title that's not a re-release.

The fact that it's in HD has me thinking it could be a really, REALLY nice-looking game. Like, along the lines of it looking less pixelated, and more like an animation cel. Course, that's just me daydreaming. XP

Of course, it could also mean that it's a download-only title.....which would suck to the nth degree for those of us without internet access to our PS3s and 360s. But hopefully Sega will be wise and make sure it has a physical, on-disc copy as an option for purchasing.

dude i hope so. some of these new games are......optional and I know many would love to have a game where the element of speed is back. really, i hate those wear hog stages in unleashed.

...okay, so now I get the Pikachu comment. XD

But really, how could ANYONE think it'd be anybody else in that logo other than Sonic himself? Sega might not be making alot of good choices these days, but replacing Sonic in his own game would just be foolish. : P

Only thing I don't get, is why there isn't an official title yet. Usually companies keep codenames for titles under wraps, never meant to be seen or heard by the general public. Unless Sega just wants to stir up some speculation for attention.

I don't really care as long as the flamings and whining die down, that stuff is really starting to get on my nerves. stare
