Wylde was in one of those reclining lounge chairs people put outside when they wanted to sunbathe, though the location Wilde Mage picked was under the shop's awning and thus it was obvious that he was not sunbathing at all but just hanging out simply because he could. He felt cooped up inside the shop all by himself he didn't feel like cleaning or dusting and he certainly didn't feel like studying any of his collections. The red haired mage quietly scratched along his jaw for a moment and then uttered a small sigh as he reached and picked up the drink he had brought outside with him and took a long sip.
He watched people as they passed by and only a handful gave him a curious gaze which he often returned along with a small hand wave which he often expected to be returned, but often times the target of such greetings didn't return the wave and only sped up their walk away from Wylde.
..How rude.

Jaella made her way down the sidewalk, her messenger bag bulging from what all she'd crammed in there. Today was shopping day, and the bag held the goods she'd acquired at the grocery store, which was mainly chips and cookies.
She blinked, her eyes falling on a man who seemed to be comfortably seated in front of a shop. She'd never seen anyone sit around in public like that before....cool. She thought that things like that were against some unspoken law; it was good to see that she was wrong. Still, why was he sitting there like that? Was he waiting for someone? For something? Her childish curiosity continued to throw questions at her, and with out a second thought, she decided to find out.
"Hi!" she greeted, her voice just as bright and chipper as it usually was. "Whatcha doing?" she asked, smiling at the complete and total stranger. Yes, it was quite apparent the Jaella was the supreme queen of being tactful. Not.

He had gotten to where he gave up on greeting people and simply reclined, and sipped on his drink and just relaxed. He wasn’t quite expecting to have someone pretty much go out of their way to approach and greet him and then ask what he was doing. His oddly colored eyes flicked up toward the young woman standing nearby and blinked a little before he nodded his head in greeting and then he gingerly set aside his drink, "Fair days," he said in a friendly tone.
"I’m relaxing out in front of my shop," Wylde said as if the answer was quite obvious to anyone that had a set of eyes, but it wasn’t meant rudely either. It was just one of those things.
"What are you doing?"

Jaella smiled, nodding. Well, that seemed pretty obvious. Why hadn't she thought of that? Maybe it was because she was oh-so intelligent? Oh well, she knew now, and that's what counted, right? Right.
"I just got done shopping at the store," she said, grinning and holding her bag up in a rather childish fashion. "They had Caramel Whips on sale today. Awesome!" Apparently, she was very excited about this find, and with good reason, too: she absolutely loved Caramel Whip cookies! Alright, that was a good reason for her, maybe, but still.

He listened to her politely but truth be told he was already beginning to size her up for a certain potential though his face, outwardly, seemed kind but neutral toward her. Maybe she would make a good caretaker. Wylde moved to stand suddenly and started to fold up his chair offering a, "That sounds like good fun," he replied cheerfully with a bit of a nod after the chair was folded up he leaned it against his building.
"Would you follow me for a second? You came at the right time, I need help with something." Wylde said simply with a smile, "I haven't been in business long enough to hire helpers, so I am afraid I have to accost others for assistance when I have their attention..."

Jaella smiled brightly, nodding. "Sure! I'd love to help out." she said, having no idea what she was getting herself into. "What do you need help with?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. She hoped it wasn't anything too hard; she was a bit klutzy when it came to heavy lifting. But organizing and running errands....now that she could do with no problem!

"I just need you to partake in a bit of an experiment," Wylde said with an almost evasive tone as he lead the poor girl into the store, behind the counter and toward a door which he pulled open and then started heading down a set of stairs as he hummed a cheerful little tune.
He trusted her to follow him, "I'm Wylde by the way," he introduced himself in an almost dreamy tone, almost like it was an afterthought.

Jaella just nodded, following his descent down the stairs. It didn't occur to her that maybe following a stranger down into a basement-type area wasn't a good idea. Especially to partake in an "experiment." But, apparently, she saw nothing weird in that situation at all.
"My name's Jaella." the purple-haired girl said, smiling brightly. Really, it was a wonder her cheeks didn't cramp from all the smiling. "It's nice to meet you, Wylde." she added, nodding.

"Ah-ha. Good to have a name to go along with the face," Wylde said with a small nod as they meandered down the steps and soon they were in Wylde's little workshop. One of the first most prominent features of the room was a large doorframe-like object but instead of looking past and into the other side of the room it was filled with various scenery flashing by with little to no purpose or reason to it other than it did that the longest the scenery flashing would pause was when the doorframe was filled with the vision of stars against a dark blue canvas that was also tainted and swirled with bits of purple cloud-like objects. There was obviously magic in the room but it originated from that door the closer to the doorframe one got the stronger the crackle of magic played against the skin. The walls of the room were covered with strange arcane markings and sometimes a few of the markings would glow.
The 'doorframe' stood upon a small dais style structure that had a sign next to it reading: EXIT ONLY. DO NOT ENTER.
As if he needed to sometimes remind himself.
Wylde folded his hands in front of his person, "Do me a favor and stand a few feet away, in front of the door," he said smoothly with a bit of a grin.

Jaella nodded, smiling as she followed the man's descent down into the basement between the odd little shop. It didn't occur to her that, normally, following a stranger down into a nice, secluded basement wasn't a good idea. She looked at the door frame, curiosity etching itself into her features and rendering her expression to a child-like appearance. That had to be the most awesome door she'd ever seen! She would have gone closer, to inspect it, but Wylde interrupted the thought before she could act on it.
"Okay." Jaella said, nodding as she rubbed her arms, trying to ignore the tingle of magic that played across her skin. Stand in front of the pretty looking doorway? Sounded like a peachy idea to her! Sometimes, one had to wonder if the girl had any common sense what so ever.

Well it was a good thing that Wylde wasn't into any hijinks or harmful habits toward other people (at least giving people companions didn't seem harmful). He watched as she did as he directed and was infinitely pleased that his ploy worked out ever so well. He made a vague hand gesture at the portal. Suddenly the images in the portal stopped at a strange dark alley though no one could see what was going on there was an odd scream of horror and suddenly there was nothing.
Wylde blinked at this but otherwise continued to believe that everything was just fine. Everything was dandy...
There was a sudden flash and a polaroid flew out of the portal and landed at Jaella's feet. Could he in all good conscience let her have that one? Yes, yes he could. It was probably nothing at all. Nope not a damn thing. "Huh, that was a little weird. Never did that before. Thanks for your help you can keep that item that flew out."
