It was late. The sun, a dazzling orange that evening, blended beautifully with the vibrant pinks and yellows of the sunset. Sanuye patrolled the borders of the Kunana'Nakhun pride lands, her chocolate colored eyes peeled for any hint of intruders. She was a giant of a lioness; had always been big and fat for her age. Fortunately, with age and an increase in height, baby fat had long ago given way, under pressure of an intense training regime, to a large and muscular frame. Sanuye looked formidable and she liked it that way.

The air was thick with humidity, and everywhere she went smelled of rain. There was a storm on the horizon- probably due late that night, after the sunset.

She glanced left and right, attempting, dutifully, to focus on her task. Her mind, however, had different ideas. It kept wandered to Kagami, who was somewhere nearby. Sanuye had left her for only a couple moments. Yet, she couldn't get the other female out of her head. Kagami was eternally distracting and Sanuye couldn't help but feel a little guilty, because it didn't really bother her that thoughts of the beautiful, purple lady kept her from performing to the best of her ability. For the first time in a long time, her duty was playing second fiddle.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 2:06 pm

He was never going to give up on the purple female. Never. He didn't care what she had said to him that day, that one day that she had spoken in many moons. His thoughts always centered around her no matter what he was doing, who he was with, or what he was after. She was always on his mind and he hated it.

So here he was back in the same lands he had constantly stalked through, keeping an eye on his children particularly the one that looked most like him. Aysu. He often found himself wondering if Kagami had ever met the girl and if it scared her to know that even now he was around, following her.

He was her own personal stalker.

And he was so damn good at it too, she never even knew that he was there, until he found her alone.

He found himself smirking as he crouched low, staying close to the shadows. He was sneaking up on her. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she saw him.

"Hello kitten, did you miss me?"

--

Kagami found herself enjoying her new home, even more so after she got the official okay. The best part about it was the simple fact that it meant she got to spend more time learning about the companion that had taken her in since she stumble into the pride.

Sanuye.

The red female was everything that Kagami was not. She was tall, well-muscled, strong and had the desire to be the perfect warrior. Kagami was rather small, delicate and while she could put up a decent fight never had the desire to. She would rather back out of a fight than step into the fray, something she would have to learn to do.

When she heard his voice she froze, a shiver running down her spine. No...no, no, no! She screamed internally. Her ears flattened against her head as she slowly turned with her heart pounding in her chest.

NO!

She stumbled back at the sight of him, shaking her head, stepping on a branch.

When she heard the sound of the branch cracking in half, Sanuye stood up a little taller and craned her neck in the direction of the noise. She wasn't worried yet, and saw no reason to be. The sound had come from behind her. She suspected that it was Kagami, because that was where she'd left the other female, and yearned suddenly to return to her.

Their relationship was new to Sanuye. She'd never enjoyed spending so much time with someone before, and could barely stand to be away from the other female for more than a couple of minutes at a time. Kagami made her happy like nobody else ever had and, she suspected, like no one else ever could.

Sanuye smiled quiety to herself as she headed back to the place where she'd left Kagami. A sudden gust of warm wind whipped passed her face, tickling her nose. The red lioness bristled and froze, momentarily confused; there were two scents on the air. One belonged, undeniably, to Kagami. Sanuye would recognize that smell anywhere. The other, however, was unfamiliar and male.

Unsettled; the warrior, with her ears folded back and her eyes narrowed uninvitingly, quickened her pace and burst into the clearing.

A low chuckle slipped from his lips as he saw fear ripple across her features. He shook his head, a fake frown sliding across his lips as he stepped forward. He loved seeing the emotion he knew would appear but at the same time he wanted another emotion to be seen.

He wanted to see love in her eyes. Beneath the fear he wanted to see the love that he knew, knew she still felt for him. Her love for him wouldn't, no couldn't disappear. He wouldn't allow it. Never.

She was his whether she liked it or not. He was going to make sure of that.

"Well I missed you kitten," he cooed moving even closer, ignoring the fact that she was trying to back up, to get away from him. She wasn't going to turn her back on him, she knew better than that but he also knew that her instincts were telling her to either run or to give in.

When Sanuye burst into the scene he merely glanced at her, arched a brow then went back to focusing upon the purple female, backing her up against a tree.

"You love me remember?"

--

Kagami's maw opened slightly like she wanted to scream, to shout, anything to get help, to drive the male away but she was paralyzed. Paralyzed by her voluntary muteness and by fear. The sound of her heart thudding in her chest was deafening.

Why?

She was finally happy, her life was back in order and she was finally getting over him. When they had fought before, back in their homelands, she had thought he had gotten the message. Yes she loved him but no she didn't love him, not that way anymore. She'd always love him, but not the way he wanted her to.

Not the way she had come to love someone else.

She shook her head frowning, fighting back the tears.

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...

It was too late, she had already told him that but he just didn't get. He'd never get it. And for that her heart cried out for him. But she had moved on, she loved someone else.

It was over.

Several things happened at once. First, the strange male spoke and there was confusion. When he continued to speak, with nothing more than an indifferent glance in her direction, Sanuye's gaze fluttered to Kagami and instantaneously locked in on the broken, terrified expression on her beautiful, purple face. Memories, unbidden, of the first time they'd met exploded in her head like fireworks and Sanuye knew, instinctively, that the male in front of her was the same cruel sadist Akira had named Suijin.

Then there was rage. Sanuye, bristling and gigantic in her fury, unleashed a roar that shook the branches of the trees. She charged, teeth bared and glinting with malice, and attempted to jump in front of Kagami- between the filthy predator and his quivering prey.

Blood pounded in her ears and her heart raced, but a part of Sanuye was almost delirious with excitement. She was more than prepared for this. She'd dreamed of it.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 09, 2009 9:29 pm

Kagami pressed herself against the tree as far back as she could go, desperately trying to escape from the dual-colored male. She couldn't do this any more, couldn't have him storming into her life, playing with her heart only to leave as quickly as he had come. She needed to move on and damnit he needed to leave her alone!

Why couldn't he get it through this thick skull that she no longer wanted anything to do with him? That in order for her to get on with her life he needed to stay out of it? That for him to move on he needed to let her go.

Inwardly she sighed as she shook her head, pity in her emerald gaze because she knew. Knew that for as long as he lived he would never give up in her, not emotionally...maybe not even physically and that was what terrified her.

When Suijin wanted something, wanted something desperately, nothing could stop him from getting what he wanted. And right now...he wanted her.

She looked over at the red-pelted female panic swelling in her chest. No! She cried mentally, she couldn't get her involved in this. She couldn't bare to see him hurt Sanuye.

--

Suijin snarled as she lunged at him, instinctively jumping back, barely avoiding her attack. So the stupid female thought she could stand in his way? Well, she'd soon learn of her mistake, he was taking no prisoners today. Today would be a blood bath.

"So my little kitten's made a friend how sweet," he sneered, teeth bared and claws extended. "Sorry love but I don't think that today is your day," he told her with an evil grin. He stepped forward fully intent on lashing out at her.

He was getting oh-so-close to the red lioness, practically in her face. "Hate to break it to you love, but Kitten's got to come with me," he told her, glaring. "She's mine," he paused to shake his head, smirk spreading.

"She'll always be mine."

Her eyes were narrowed; vicious slits of pure, unadulterated ire. The giant of a lioness was furious; her face set in a hard, impenetrable expression that meant nothing but war. Sanuye watched as he stepped closer, wary of his claws, and puffed up even more.

She'd always been a woman of passion; strong, fierce and entirely unafraid. There'd been a time, when her mother had first left, when Sanuye had experienced vulnerability and pain unlike anything she'd ever felt possible, but fear wasn't something she cared to be acquainted with. Its only purpose was to create inhibitions, and Sanuye had none of those.

"You talk too much," she sneered and spat. It never occurred to her that he was trying to play mind games. She wasn't very clever and they had never been her forte, but that didn't much matter. Sanuye was like a brick wall; immovable and solid. She didn't think enough to become puzzled. That only happened when emotions she wasn't used to made themselves known; and she knew what it was like to feel angry, and possessive. He was invading her homelands, and he was every ounce in the wrong.

Kagami had come to her, seeking protection, Akira had said so, and Sanuye wasn't about to ask any questions. Not when the face of Kagami's anxiety was threatening to steal her away. Suijin was a fool if he thought he could twist her into distrusting Kagami's word, and that of her brother.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:54 am

He dug his claws into the dirt as he fixed his gaze completely upon Sanuye. Kagami was still important to him but at the current moment he needed to focus upon this red female, if he let his thoughts or attention wander elsewhere he could get hurt and he simply couldn't have that.

"Perhaps you talk to little," he taunted flashing her his teeth. He inched forward just a bit before letting his gaze flicker towards the purple lady.

He didn't understand, which was abnormal for him. He had prided himself on understanding everything. What he didn't understand was the why the purple female's fear spiked as soon that the other lioness entered the fray.

Could it be that she feared more for the other lady than for herself?

Why?

Why couldn't he understand?

It infuriated him and he lunged intent on taking out all of his frustration out on Sanuye.

--

Her heart rate sky-rocketed as soon as Suijin set his sights on her dear friend. No, no... she bit down on her bottom lip. This couldn't be happening. Sanuye needed to get away, to stay away from Suijin.

Nothing good could come of them fighting. Suijin always won and it scared her. She couldn't lose Sanuye. Not after how long it had taken her to finally be comfortable enough with another person to realize she had fallen in love once more.

Please be safe...

Oh, how she wanted this. Sanuye remained where she was, firmly cemented between the body of her beautiful new companion and the angry, sadistic male Akira had told her about. Kagami clearly needed protection, and her brother had been either unwilling or incapable of providing it for her. But that was to be expected. He was a male, after all. Better suited to looking after children than war.

It was possible that her prejudice blinded her to Suijin's capacity for malice and for rage. Maybe she ought to give him a little more credit, and be a little more careful.

Maybe.

Sanuye stood up a little straighter, invariably confident that she would win should he be fool enough to attack-

and then he did. The giant lioness had seen it coming a heartbeat too late and didn't have enough time to move out of the way as he launched himself at her- but that was okay, because her body still shielded his from Kagami's. Sanuye would have never forgiven herself for letting him reach the purple lady. Her lips curled into a nasty snarl as she planted her feet and braced herself for his attack.

She wasn't afraid of pain, or of him. Whatever he chose to do, Sanuye refused to let it bother her and vowed to repay him tenfold.

So the little kitten wasn't going to do a thing to try and stop him now was she. Inwardly the thought made Suijin cackle but as of now, well he was simply too focused on wanting to rip the little b***h's throat out. He couldn't wait to sink his teeth into her neck, but he had to. Where would all the fun be if he ended things too quickly.

Besides he wanted them both to suffer.

He found himself grinning as his claws came into contact with the female's shoulders just before he nipped at her neck. He intended on letting her know exactly what he planned for her.

He jerked his head back quickly in case she tried to snap at him as he jumped back.

"Come on little kitty show me what you've got," he taunted.

There was pain; but only a little bit. Sanuye's nostrils flared and she snorted in contempt as his claws, like blades, dug into the muscled flesh of her shoulders and he snapped, tellingly, at her vulnerable neck. Her brown eyes flashed red, and she took a couple of bold steps forward when he teased her, but refused to move any farther from Kagami. In many ways, though Sanuye wasn't clever enough to realize it, she and Suijin were very similar; her cause, however, unlike his, was primarily selfless. Her purpose was to shield and to protect, while his was to destroy and to frighten.

And she wasn't the type to be intimidated. Sanuye just got pissed.

"Kagami," Sanuye growled out of the corner of her mouth and spoke to the purple lady behind her, but never took her steely eyes off of Suijin, "you should go."

Once the silent female was out of harm's way, Sanuye would be free to focus on Suijin. She'd tear him apart. Her confidence was unshakeable.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 09, 2009 11:06 am

"Yes, run Kagami," he taunted gaze flickering briefly over at the purple female. "That's what you're good at. You've always been good at running," he sneered shaking his head. Yes, one of the things she was good at was running, she never seemed to stop to face her problems or fears.

"Better do what's expected love," he jeered, "thing are going to get messy." It was a statement, there would be blood shed, the only question was who would the blood belong to?

"Run along, this won't take long," he stated a wicked grin spreading across his maw. He'd take his time yes, but it wouldn't take him too long.

--

Kagami didn't know what to do, she desperately wanted to run. She couldn't see this fight, the fight between the two people she loved. The people she loved the most. She shook her head fighting her tears desperately.

No! No! No! Stop it!

She desperately wanted to scream, cry out and try to stop this whole mess but she couldn't. She didn't know what to do anymore. She was lost confused and ultimately torn.

She hadn't meant to drag Sanuye into this mess but it was hopeless. He'd never leave her alone.

Slowly she moved away, she had to give them their space, they needed to do whatever they planned and she wasn't sure if her staying would help Sanuye. It'd probably only hurt her.

Her temper. Sanuye had, so far, done a pretty remarkable job of keeping it intact. She was as composed as she could be expected to in a situation that practically screamed for annihilation. When Suijin addressed Kagami directly, she all but lost it.

"I already told you, you talk to much," she snarled menacingly at him, and the sound reverberated deep within her throat. "So, I think it's about time you shut that hole you call a mouth. I can't wait to make you."

From the corner of her eye (she never took them off of Suijin), Sanuye saw Kagami step out of harm's way and a warm, bubbly feeling started in the pit of her stomach. It was something close to joy. Finally, finally she'd get to sink her teeth into his flesh; taste his blood under her tongue, and make him pay for what he'd done to Kagami. She'd make sure he got what he deserved. There was no escape for him now.

It was show time.

Sanuye practically purred as she started forwards; her giant body a mass of raw and powerful muscle, her sharp teeth barred in promise. Her tail swayed threateningly back and forth behind her- ticking off the seconds. Chocolate eyes, narrowed hungrily, were locked on Suijin. She looked very much like the kitten stocking a canary.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 25, 2009 9:23 pm

[continued on aim]

"Make me stop then," Suijin growled not phased by her snarl. She thought she could take him and she was wrong. Dead wrong and he was going to show her just how wrong she was. Underestimating him was the worst mistake this female would do. "I might talk too much but you're all talk and no action," he taunted.

"Shut up and prove yourself b***h," he snarled flexing his claws and tilting his head from side to side.

She might have been the cat circling a canary but Suijin was the canary just waiting to sink his talons into her flesh.

Finally, thankfully; Kagami was safely out of the way, and surrendering to her fury was completely acceptable. A vicious roar rippled from the deepest recesses of her chest, and Sanuye, finally goaded into action, launched herself at Suijin. Her teeth, sharp and shimmery, glinted in the light of the sun, as she charged him.

She was a giant mass of fluidity and grace; while not necessarily very practiced, obviously skilled, and fast for somebody so large. Ears pressed threateningly back against her head Sanuye, with a large and powerful paw, claws outstretched, sliced viciously at his ridiculously smug face.

There was no mercy in her. Only rage.

Instinctively Suijin dropped down to ground sliding forward as he did so. He twisted, claws extended intending to slice at her stomach, when her paw, claws included, managed to slice a deep cut to part of his ear. He hissed as he clenched his teeth together to help him ignore the pain. Quickly he was back on his paws ignoring the steady flow of blood that began to mark his pale white face.

"Is that all you got?" he taunted a cynical grin upon his lips.

She was proving to be a challenge and he was having the time of his life. He was going to enjoy this, no he was enjoying this. It was about time someone could actually stand against him. "Here kitty, kitty."

He would taunt her. Sanuye's upper lip curled upwards into a nasty, yet somehow victorious, snarl as she made contact with his ear. It wasn't a severe injury. Blood oozed from the wound, and her nostrils flared with delight at the site and the sharp coppery scent that permeated the air.

"You smell so delicious," she purred cruelly at him, chocolate eyes glazed over with fury and joy and determination. Adrenaline thoroughly spiked, heart pounding to the wondrous tattoo of war; Sanuye actually smiled at him and, then with a throaty chuckle, crouched low. Her tail swished back and forth, menacing, behind her and with a roar like thunder and a flash of red fur she threw herself at him.

She was all packed muscle, sharp claws and jagged teeth. Incensed and excited, Sanuye reached for any part of him that she could; determined to rip, to tear and to crush.

"I bet you taste delicious," he cooed almost dancing a step close to her. Never had he been so...excited to be in a fight. He had his usual thrill, the one he got from taunting and baiting others but so much more. He had chills that sent shivers down his spine. Finally. Finally he had found an opponent who could quite possibly be equal in strength and will power as himself.

As she attacked again he was much more careful, he moved to the side swiftly and gracefully as he lashed out at her shoulder. Small damages would add up. He however lingered too close to her leaving him far too open for an attack.

As far as Sanuye was concerned, there was no such thing as equality. Equality suggested the possibility of a draw, and she was bound and determined not only to win, but to annihilate. In games of war there was only strength and power, skill and intelligence; she had all but one of these, but Sanuye didn't care. Nothing mattered, except the knowledge that she would be victorious.

His claws sliced into the delicate flesh of her already injured shoulder, and Sanuye growled in outrage as he moved to the side. Her temper, a veritable mountain of wrath, climbed ever higher. She was quickly losing the precarious grip she had on her self-control, the insulting image of Suijin before her a constant reminder of all the pain Kagami had suffered, and Sanuye saw the opening he, like a fool, had left for her.

He stood much too close. Suddenly overjoyed, she lunged and, bracing her strong front legs on his shoulders, attempted to sink her teeth into his neck. She would make him bleed for her, and she would be the first to know who tasted like what.

Content spread across his features as he watched her howl in pain. He had timed things all too perfectly. Then realization flickered in his eyes. s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t! He had lingered far to close to her for far too long. He should have already moved back, danced away and prepared for the neck attack. He had been enjoying this far too much and now, he would pay the price. Luckily for him he barely managed to avoid her teeth upon his neck. He sidestepped just in time to let her teeth only catch his shoulder.

He hissed in pain, claws digging into the ground in a desperate attempt to not let her become aware of how much her attack actually hurt him. Snarling he snapped at her own flesh hoping to find some kind of purchase of his own. He'd be damned if he let her cause him this much pain without returning the favor.

Success! Well, mostly. Her original goal had been his neck, but Sanuye was willing to settle for his shoulder. It wasn't quite the same, but there was still a sense of victory about it all and, he still bled when she used her teeth to tear at the fur and the skin and the muscle that lay there. She mirrored his hiss of pain with a sigh of contentment. This was, surely, something like what heaven must have felt like.

Then, his teeth pierced her shoulder and Sanuye tore her jaw, along with whatever meat happened to come along with it, away from his shoulder in order to roar murderously in pain. Blood dripped from her fangs. She'd never imagined something could feel so raw.

Instead of letting go and backing up, in order to prepare for another attack, Sanuye stole herself and pushed against his shoulders with all of her might in attempt to topple him onto his back. At the same time she returned her own jaw to his shoulder, clamped down and squeezed.

He snarled as she clamped her teeth down on his shoulder. If the little b***h thought that'd make him back down she was so wrong. He could feel his flesh being torn back, it'd create a nasty scar, but there were more important things at hand. Then she tore her jaw away, tearing a chunk of flesh away, he was forced to pull his own away from her taking a piece from her in return. He moved back letting her blood run down his chin.

"My, my," he began ready to taunt her again when she rushed forward trying to knock him back. His claws dug into the ground as he pushed back against her. He'd be damned if he let her do that.

He snapped at her shoulder, nipping it, then turned his head ever so slightly to her more exposed neck just about to sink his teeth into it.

--

Kagami knew that Sanuye would've been far more comfortable if she had gone far away like she was supposed to. But she couldn't sit as the two people she loved, or had loved, tear at each other's throats. The purple female had arrived just in time to see Sujin about to sink into the all too vulnerable flesh of her neck.

"Sanuye!" She screamed bursting through the trees

The power of her senses overwhelmed her. Body running high on adrenaline, Sanuye forgot everything; save the sensation of feeling (pain, mingled with sadistic pleasure) and oppressing rage. The tangy scent of blood was rich on the air; it was deliciously bitter under her tongue. For that split second in time, in which she grappled fearlessly against Suijin, the red lioness's consciousness ceased to exist and she was simply a machine.

She roared in pain when his teeth tore at the flesh of her shoulder, and then an alien sound penetrated the fog that had consumed her mind. It was a voice she had never heard before, but it could only belong to one person. At the sound of her name on Kagami's lips Sanuye came back to herself and to the world, and broke away from Suijin just in time to avoid his perilous attack on her neck.

"Kagami!" The warrior exclaimed, brown eyes wide with surprise, "You spoke! What are you doing back here?"

The other lady's interruption had left Sanuye distracted, and vulnerable.
