Okay so uh, the title was the only one that I could think of for the moment. In no way is this a game for me.

So! Ehem, there's this boy. He's pure Asian (a rariety since I mostly know part Asians or mixed Asians) and he's an okay height. He's super.... in between cute and cool. And he's also a senior who turns 18 on Christmas (yes that's his birthday) Most of all though, he's different from other guys I've liked.
He's smart, shy, and dresses nicely. Like, the kind of nicely I would usually find annoying since it's all expensive clothes.
Oh, he likes to breakdance as a hobby and he's friends with my brother.

And then there's me ;_;
Me who is regular height but I'm most likely growing to grow into a nice height as I grow up (I'm thinking 5'6" to 5'8", I'm just guessing, I don't have any doctors opinion or anything, never got one of those actually) I'm full Asian too but I don't act Asian at all. My friends regularly comment that I'm the whitest Asian they've ever known.
Anyways!
I wear whatever I please which may or may not be as nice of clothes. I tend to hang out with the gothic crowd. I could be smart if I tried (which I am)

But anyways, he's popular and I'm so definitely not.
But to my dilemma. He likes me, and he's definitely showing it (my friend is pushing me and him to make moves on each other) but I'm not so sure how to show that I like him.
I don't want to come off as a flirty girly girl. I just want him to genuinely know that I like him, because I do.
But how do I do that?

They teach you to read other guys' body language (something I've been studying before this happened) and I got all that down. He DEFINITELY likes me.

But how the heck do I show him that I like him as well without coming off as flirty? Because that's just not me.

Okay so maybe this goes in the advice/guidance but really this is more of venting since I'm totally confused on why he likes me. And I'm mostly ranting on how I cannot believe that he likes me.

Besides our shyness, we're opposites. Ahhhh gonk

Well they don't say "opposites attract" for nothing you know. ^_~ What truly matters in a relationship is how the people are on the inside. Popularity and clothes are only superficial outerwear that really doesn't mean jack on whether two people will hit it off or not. What attracts two people to one another is more based on personality and if there is a physical attraction. Status has nothing to do with it. If you like him, there's nothing wrong with flirting a bit. If you don't want to be flirty then why not be more direct with him? That is if you aren't too shy about saying, "hey, I like you" to a guy.

OH OH OH!!!
He came over yesterday to tutor me in algebra.
Not only do I understand algebra now, but my mom absolutely loves him! She just worries about his well being since he stresses a lot, barely sleeps and barely eats.

Well, I'm sure we're both showing that we like each other now =] He's so great, he's smart and funny (which surprised me because he's shy with people he doesn't know) and well, he bugs me a lot but that's only because he likes me (I hope) It's one of those things where it's cute in the beginning but after a while it just gets annoying. So far, it hasn't gotten annoying for me yet xD

But now it's getting annoying that apparently I'm attracting a lot of guys =/
It really stinks because there's a number of them but I'm only interested in one...

Well attracting attention tends to happen. Just ignore it and if any of them ask you out and you aren't into them, be sure and let them down gently. It takes courage to approach someone you like. Well, being annoying is kinda what guys do when they flirt. It's like grade school all over again. You know, they tease you and pick on you and be mean and such when really...they don't hate you, they have a crush and people don't always know how to express their feelings.

Yeah, everything is really great now =]
We're even going to Homecoming together! (noted though that it is in November...)

My mom still won't let me date but she'll let me go on dates with him (not that I have yet).

There's just a few things that bother me that she doesn't like about him.
1) She says he's too short for me
-He's pretty much a little bit above my height, but I honestly don't care about height but she does because she believe that they wouldn't be able to take care of you as well and you'd be the one taking care of them (medical issues WAY into marriage lol)
and
2) He makes inappropriate jokes.
-Not like, naughty gross jokes, but natural silly jokes. Mostly about hot sauce (and using the toilet) but it makes everyone laugh XD Gosh if she'd only admit that. I mean, sure it's a turn off, but it's silly and funny.
and finally
3) He comes from a broken family
-She believes that habits pass on and if he had a broken family then the relationship won't be as good. Which is the case here. He has a dad, a mom in Tampa, and a step-mom and maybe five or seven siblings?

As you can tell, all the things she doesn't like I don't worry about. Height, who cares? He's a great and smart guy.
Jokes, humor is necessary. Sometimes (aka a lot of times) you just want to laugh.
And the family >_> I don't think it matters. He's him, and he has his own values. There, done.

Those are all ridiculous and it's good that you don't let what your mom thinks get in the way. It would be one thing if she noticed him treating you badly or being obsessive (in a bad way) and said so but...height?! That means nothing and general humor that doesn't put people down is more then fine. Also, personally speaking, Ray and I are both from "broken homes" as your mom puts it, and we both turned out just fine. Not only that, but the relationship is a good one. A person's past/family life only means something if they let it affect them. Clearly, this isn't the case.

Yay for homecoming! I'm sure you'll have a great time.
