Route 5 is a path running north to south from Cerulean City to Saffron City.

Alexander heard a nearby tree rustling, it must have just been the wind he thought to himself. Psy was still out of his pokeball, and tried to detect a nearby disturbance. Just then, a mankey jumped from a tree and hit Psy with a low kick, knocking Psy to the ground. Alexander realized that he'd never healed Psy at a pokemon center, so he withdrew Psy and sent out Fang. Fang may not have had as big of an advantage against Mankey, but he was still stronger than it. Fang emerged from its pokeball and immediately used take down before receiving orders. The mankey was struck so hard, it was knocked back into the trees. Alexander knew that Fang had just made a huge tactical error by knocking Mankey back into its own turf, now he could only wait for Mankey to reemerge.

Mankey finally leaped out of the tree behind Fang and prepared to us Cross Chop.
"Dodge it and use fire blast!" Fang did as he was commanded and Mankey was burned, littl did Alexander know, it was holding an ice berry which it ate to heal and then used double team, Fang was surrounded.

"Fang, use firer blast and spin in a circle!" Fang charged and shot a huge fire blast at the Mankeys, the Mankeys all disappeared, the real Mankey jumped out of the tree behind Fang and sent him flying with cross chop, this altered Fang's blast and a nearby tree was set ablaze Manky panicked and turnd towards the tree.
"Here's your chance! Do it Fang." Fang ran at Mankey and hit it a take down, clearly a cheap shot, but still a critical hit.

The mankey flew back and hit the ground hard. Fang growled and charged again without command. He used his paws to pin down all of mankey's limbs, Alexander saw that he was preparing to use fire blast at close range. Alexander could'vee stopped Fang, but this intensity was what Fang needed to win more battles. The fire blast scorched Mankey, Manky was severely injured. Alexander threw a pokeball, the pokeball hit Mankey, and Mankey was surrounded by a beam of light, then disappeard into the ball. The ball wiggld back and forth, but then stopped moving all together. Fang pickd the ball up in his mouth and tossed it to Alexander.
(Plus 45 exp towards Fang)
The two then walked towards Cerulean City.
