Is it silly, I often ask myself, to keep a journal? I don't know. It seems kind of risky to me, really. Anyone, at any time, could find it, read it, and blackmail me with it. Hey - kids are cruel, or can be.

I figured, what the hell. Why not? So here I am, starting a journal. Hi. My name's Lyndon. I've, uh, never kept anything like a journal before. Isn't it obvious?

Today I got my class schedule. I'm excited about starting my classes; I love learning new spells, mastering them. I like getting praise from my teachers, though it at times embarrasses me in front of my fellow students.

I guess I don't really have a lot to say, at the moment. I'm still not sure how this whole journal thing works, and until I find a good hiding place for it, I don't want to put anything overly personal in it anyway.

For now, I think I'm going to head to the library. Do some studying before any of my classes begin.
